  • Death: Peter M Bergman died on April 15, 1979, at age 65, in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co, Wisconsin.
  • Burial: He was buried in St Joseph Cemetery, Appleton, Outagamie Co, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Bergman, Peter M 1979 Appleton Post Crescent dated 4/16/1979; Peter Bergman, Appleton, age 65, died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday in Milwaukee following a short illness. He was born February 14th, 1914 in Little Chute and lived in Appleton most of his life. He was formerly employed at the Combined Locks Paper Co. for 42 years, retiring two years ago. He was a member of St. Therese's Catholic Church and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy for three years. Survivors include his wife, Agnes Conrad Bergman, two sons: Terence W. (Terry) Bergman, of Appleton; and Conrad W. Bergman, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; two brothers John Bergman, Little Chute, and Andrew Bergman, of Two Rivers, Wisconsin; five sisters: Mrs. Dora Look, of Little Chute; Mrs. Anna Evers, of Little Chute; Mrs. Hubert (Rose Margaret) VanOss, of Kimberly; Mrs. Emma Maas, of Kimberly; Mrs. Martin (Mabel) Vandenbroek, of Kimberly; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. The complete funeral be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Therese's Catholic Church, with Rev. Karl Buresh officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

She was born March 17th, 1912 at Freedom and resided in the Freedom area all of her life. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society, St. Nicholas Church. Survivors include her husband, Walter; her mother, Mrs. Patrick Murphy, of Appleton; two daughters, Mrs. Emil (Mary Jane) Witter of Kimberly; Mrs. Orville (Shirley) Evers, of Route 5 Appleton; three sons, Robert, of Route 3 Appleton; James, of Route 5 Appleton; Gary, at home; three brothers, Ignatius Murphy, of Route 1 Kaukauna; Patrick and Joseph, both of Appleton; two sisters, Mrs. Walter (Margaret) Heiss, of Appleton; Mrs. Martin (Marie) VandeHey, of Kimberly; 15 grandchildren. A brother, James preceded her in death in 1943. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom. Internment will be in the parish cemetery.

Mabel Jenny Fabry

    Mabel passed away at the age of 103 on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Grand Horizons II Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family.

    She was born in Door County the daughter of the late Edmund and Octavia (Vandervest) Fabry. On September 28, 1963 she was united in marriage to Clarence Van Hoof in Green Bay. They celebrated 43 years of marriage. She was a resident of Freedom since 1963. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church Freedom.

    Mabel worked at Malcore Dry Cleaners until she married. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, traveling, gardening, cooking, and baking. She made the best homemade bread and Belgium pies. Playing King's Corners with her grandchildren was a favorite pastime.

    She is survived by three step-sons: Jerry (Pat) of Combined Locks, Jack (Pat) of Freedom, Joe (Dee) of Freedom; four step-daughters: Mary Van Hoof of Freedom, Bonnie (Gordy) Johnson, of Cambria, Ann (Dan) Devine of Mackville, Kris (Bill) Lecker of Appleton; daughter-in-law Marlene Van Hoof; and 24 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence; step-son Ron and step-daughter Jeanne Middleton; sisters: Rose Corsten and Alice Huisman; brothers: Alvin Fabry and Harry Fabry; and in-laws Marie Kamps, Wally Van Hoof, Ken Van Hoof, and Evelyn Nackers.

    Funeral services for Mabel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10 at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, W2037 County Rd S, Freedom with Fr. Walter Stumpf officiating.   • Note: Joseph H. Schumacher, 76 years, went on to his heavenly home July 17, 2017 at Brillion West Haven Assisted Living, Brillion, Wisconsin. He was born July 9, 1941 to his parents Robert S. and Margaret M. Schumacher (Driessen) in Little Chute, Wisconsin. Joe graduated from Kimberly High School, Class of 1960. He enlisted into the US Army in March of 1963 and played the saxophone. On April 24, 1965 Joseph H. and Joyce A. Schumacher (Nackers) were married and they celebrated 52 years together.

    Joe loved to show his ability to play the saxophone. He performed with his own band, "The Joe Schumacher Orchestra, and later in life with, "The Memory Lane Band". Joe was multi-talented and could play the accordion, bass guitar and keyboards. He enjoyed woodworking, yard work as long as it involved the tractor, and working his model trains. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family and sharing their time together.

    Joe will be missed by his wife Joyce, mother Margaret M. Schumacher (Driessen), children Julie (David) Huston, Lisa (Jay) Heinz, and Todd Schumacher, grandchildren Dusty (Melannie) Huston, Jeffrey Huston, Ashley (August) Baker, Samantha Hill, Charles Hill, Garrett Heinz, and Anthony Heinz, great-grandson Miles, brothers David (finacee Pamela Somerville) Schumacher and Robert (Kathleen) Schmacher, sister Linda (Loren) Spangler, brothers-in-law David Nackers, LeRoy Nackers, Donald (Yvonne) Nackers, Carl Nackers, sisters-in-law Ruth Nackers, Alice Nackers, Shirley Nackers, Joan (Kurt) Ellis, Debbie Lemke, and Carol Nackers.

    Preceded in death by his father Robert Schumacher, son-in-law Robert Hill, sisters-in-law Marcia Schumacher and Linda Nackers, and brother-in-law Rick Lemke.

    A Resurrection Mass for Joe will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 11 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna. Fr. Tom Pomeroy celebrant. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at Holy Cross Catholic Church from 9 am until time of Mass.
