  • Death: Rose Coenen died on January 5, 2018, at age 89, in Little Chute, Outagamie Co, Wisconsin.
  • Burial: She was buried in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton, Outagamie Co, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Little Chute - Our beautiful mother, Rose A. Kavanaugh, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 5, 2018 at home. Mom was born in Little Chute on August 24, 1928 to the late George and Mary (Hermsen) Coenen. She married the love of her life, Robert A. Kavanaugh, on September 24, 1947 at St. John's Church in Little Chute. Together, they had four children. Mom led a very full and active life caring for her children and three foster children. Rose volunteered at Appleton Medical Center for seven years, graduated from and volunteered at Dale Carnegie. Many visits were made to area nursing homes bringing fun and laughter to the residents.

    Rose is survived by her four children: Karla (Tom) Weyenberg, Maureen (Ken) Kappell, Robert (Joanne) Kavanaugh and Diane (fiancé Neal De Jong) Kavanaugh; and grandchildren: Susan (John) Schmitz, Michael Weyenberg, Scott (Trisha) Weyenberg, Elizabeth (John) James, Jessica (Craig) Hamilton, Jennifer Ortigara, Jana Ortigara, Sharon Kappell, Maria (David) Eaton and Earl Kavanaugh. She is further survived by many great grandchildren; sister, Leona Stadler; sisters-in-law: Mary Mauthe and Mary Ellen Kavanaugh; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    In addition to her parents and husband Robert, Rose was preceded in death by her great grandson, Jonathon Schmitz; brothers: Andrew (Orpha) and Richard (Delores) Coenen; sisters: Marian (Robert) Driessen and Ester (Clarence) DeBruin; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert Stadler, Joseph Kuborn, Gerald Mauthe, Michael, John (Jane), James (Dorothy), Nicholas (Marian) and William (Elenor) Kavanaugh.

    Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 5:00 p.m. The Rev.   • Note: Kavanaugh, Robert 1999 Appleton Post Crescent dated 11/10/1999; Robert A. Kavanaugh aged 73 passed away Thursday November 4th, 1999, in the arms of his loving wife and family. He was born on November 30th 1925 in Kaukauna son of the late John and Anna (Dorsey) Kavanaugh. On September 24th 1947 Bob married Rose (Coenen) Kavanaugh and had 52 years of wedded bliss while residing in Little Chute until retirement. They then moved to Kelly Lake in the summer and Plant City Florida and the winter, filling his retirement with warmth, beauty and golf. Bob was self-employed, owning Kavanaugh Refrigeration from 1955 to 1988 in Little Chute. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church and attended St. Clements in Plant City. He will be remembered with loved by his wife Rose; four children, Karla and Tom Weyenberg, Little Chute; Maureen and Ken Kappell, Kaukauna; Robert and JoAnn Kavanaugh, Appleton; Diane and Steve Reis, Brillion; Bob also had 13 grandchildren; Susan (John) Schmitz, Michael, Scott, Elizabeth and Jessica Weyenberg; Sharon and Maria Kappell; Earl Kavanaugh, Jennifer and Janna Ortigara; Jason, Jenny and Ashley Reis. Three little great-grandchildren will also miss their grandpa; Drew, Kendra, and Kaitlyn; a sister Mary (Jerry) Mauthe, Appleton; a brother Jack (Jane) Kavanaugh, Madison; Bill (Terry) Palm Beach, Florida; sisters-in-law Dorothy Kavanaugh of Minnesota; Mary Ellen Kavanaugh of Kaukauna; Marian (Robert) Driessen, White Potato Lake; Leone (Robert) Stadler of Kelly Lake; Orpha Coenen, Little Chute; Robert also had two special girls, who gave him so much love and joy Kasha and Holly, his best pet friends.
