    Age 70, died Monday morning. She was born December 18, 1908 in the Town of Kaukauna. Mrs. Coffey lived in the Freedom area most of her adult life, four years in Forestville and the past 20 years had been an Appleton resident. She was a member of the Christian Ladies of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. William (Ila) Greiner, Kaukauna; Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Phillips, Kimberly; a son, Donald W., Freedom; a brother Peter Arnoldussen, Kaukauna; three sisters: Mrs. (Clarence) Nellie Eiting, Wrightstown; Mrs. Russell (Lorraine) Senso, Kaukauna; Mrs. Roy (Honey) Abitz, Green Bay; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a granddaughter. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Appleton, with the Rev. Nick Johannes officiating. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Freedom. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

    Age 74, died 11:30 p.m. Wednesday following a long illness. He was born January 18, 1905 in Freedom and had been an Appleton resident for the past 48 years. Mr. Coffey was employed by Outagamie County for over 49 years and for the past 40 years he was the Shop Superintendent for the Outagamie County Highway Department. He retired in 1970. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary McCann Coffey; a daughter, Mrs. Leo (Rose Mary) Casey, Madison, Ind.; two sons: Danield, Greenviille, South Carolina; Joseph Jr., Appleton; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Edward, Kaukauna; two sisters, Mrs. Jack (Verna) Daul, Chilton; Mrs. William (Mary) Weyers, Seymour. He was preceded in death by a son, Vernon, four brothers and a sister. The complete funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with the Rev. Nick Johannes officiating. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Freedom. Friends may call at the Thomas-Ellenbecker Funeral Home from 4 until 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 8:30 until the cortege leaves for the church. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Friday.

    Chambers, Florian
    Florian Chambers, 88, Mill Center, passed away at her home on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008. Florian was born on July 1, 1920, in Lawrence, Wis., to the late Peter and Emma (Bougie) McCabe. She married Jack Chambers on June 15, 1954, at St. Joseph's Church, De Pere, Wis. Florian taught for 39 years as an elementary teacher and prior to her retirement was a reading specialist.
    She was a member of the Catholic Order Foresters of St. Benedict's, Suamico, Retired Teacher's Association and Christian Mothers. Florian traveled extensively during her retirement.
    Florian is survived by her husband, Jack; children, Keith (Lynn) Chambers, Kevin (MeriLou) Chambers, Lynn Zanitsch, Mark Chambers and Paul (Denise) Chambers; her grandchildren, Rachael, Emma, Aileen, Jacqueline Chambers, Heather (DJ) Miskulin, Ryan (Alyssa) Chambers, Sara, Brendan Zanitsch and Zachary, Jocelyn Chambers; great-grandchildren, Owen Chambers and Morgan Miskulin; brothers and sisters, Vincent (Pat) McCabe, Mary (Ivo) Geurts, Audrey (Harold) Deprez, Patricia O'Keefe, Maureen (Vernon) Weyers, Beulah Gurnee. She is further survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary Schaeffer, Catherine Flynn, Pat (Donna) Chambers; Ronald White, Jenny Chambers.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Victor Coffey; grandson, Shawn Chambers; sister, Eileen McCabe; brother, David McCabe; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
    A celebration of Florian's life with a visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Howard.     Age 85, died Friday afternoon, February 27, 2004, at Cherry Meadows Hospice. He was born October 31, 1918, the youngest of 15 children, to the late Corneal and Magdalene (Blindauer) Vandenberg, in Freedom, where he was a resident all of his life. Quin served with the U. S. Army from 1941 – 1945, with the Medical Corps, in the European Theatre, in Africa and Italy. Following his discharge, Quin, married Blanche P. Conrad on April 25, 1946, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom. He had been employed by Miller Electric for 34 years retiring in 1984. Quin was an avid Packer and Brewer fan and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and the Freedom VFW Post #7692. Survivors include his wife, Blanche P. Vandenberg; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Marlene Vandenberg, Freedom; Gary and Dawn Vandenberg, Hortonville; Daryl and Ginger Vandenberg, Little Chute; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Shirley and Charlie Kramer, Freedom; Darlene Davis and special friend, Bruce Grant, Hortonville; Lavonne “Bonnie” and Dan Verbeten, Kimberly. “Grandpa” will be deeply missed by his 19 precious grandchildren and their families, Shanna (Mike) Zahn, Shane (fiancée, Brandy Ann) Vandenberg, Jason (fiancée, Jenny), Gale and Chris Vandenberg, Wendy (fiancé, Ed), Tracy and Kyle Vandenberg, Tina (Larry) Larsen, Jodi (Ross) Schmechel, Kerry (Gary) Peterson and Bret Springstroh, Kelly (Todd) Schroeder, Nanette (John) Gerrits, Ryan Hooyman and Eric Verbeten; eight great grandchildren; a sister Loretta Malkowski, Valljo, CA; three sisters-n-law, Harriet Conrad and Eva Conrad, Freedom; and Mamie Conrad, Appleton; many dear nieces and nephews, countless neighbors and friends will cherish Quin’s legacy of life and love. Quin’s son, Terry, preceded him into heaven in 2000. Also welcoming him ‘home’ are his brothers and sisters, members of Blanche’s family and many others whose lives were touched by Quin’s unlimited love and gentleness. The funeral liturgy for Quentin will be held at 5:00 pm, Monday, March 1, 2004, at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, County Trunk E, Freedom, with Father Dennis Ryan officiating. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery. Friends will be received at the church from 3:00 pm, Monday, until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.

Terry was born in Kaukauna on August 4, 1960, son of Quentin and Blanche (Conrad) Vandenberg. As a young man, he attended Plamann School in Appleton where he participated in track events in the Special Olympics. Terry was a lover of music and listened to recordings of all kinds. Everyone will remember him for his love of life, for his easy-going ways, and for his constant smile. He is survived by his parents: Quentin and Blanche Vandenberg, Freedom; three sisters: Shirley (Charlie) Kramer, Freedom; Darlene Davis, Appleton; Lavonne "Bon" (Dan) Verbeten, Kimberly; three brothers: Ken (Marlene) Vandenberg, Freedom; Gary (Dawn) Vandenberg, Hortonville; Daryl (Ginger)_ Vandenberg, Little Chute. Terry is also survived by several aunts and uncles and by nineteen nieces and nephews, and seven great-nieces and great-nephews.
