  • Note: Hooyman, Harold R 1976 Appleton Post Crescent dated February 5th, 1976, Harold R. Hooyman, age 59, died at 11:10 a.m. Wednesday after a long illness. He was born July 12th, 1916 in Little Chute and had lived in the Appleton area all of his life. Survivors include three brothers: Leo, of Kimberly; Robert, and Joseph, both of Route 4 Appleton; four sisters: Mrs. Otto (Marie) Coenen, of Little Chute; Mrs. Harvey (Evelyn) Mahn, of Kimberly; Mrs. Clarence (Della) Vanheuklon:, and Mrs. Victor (Delores) Baumann Jr., both of Appleton and. The complete funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Theresa's Catholic Church with the Reverend D. Ryan officiating. Internment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

    Joseph age 72 died at home on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 following a courageous five-year battle with a neurological disorder. His loving family was at his side. He was born October 13, 1932 in Appleton son of the late Joseph and Dora (Verhagen) Hooyman. He graduated from Hortonville High School. He married Florence Schroth June 30, 1956 in Stephensville, sharing 48 years together. He was employed at Alcan (formerly American National Can) as a shift supervisor for 39 years and retired in 1995 and was a member of the Alcan Quarter Century Club.He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Joe was an active member of Holy Spirit Parish (formerly Holy Angels) Darboy for 44 years where he served as an usher. He volunteered on the Grandpa Patrol at Holy Spirit School; he was a member of the Town of Buchanan Fire Dept.; the Fox Valley Rabbit Club and the Checkered Giant Club where he served as past president. He raised Checkered Giant rabbits and earned many first place trophies and enjoyed judging at the county fairs. He enjoyed carpentry and worked part time for his brother Bob. Joe could fix or build anything and did so with pride. One of the greatest joys of his life was spending time with his grandchildren.

    Survivors include his wife Florence of Darboy; a daughter Barbara Hooyman of Appleton; 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law: Keith and Amy Hooyman of Darboy; Tom and Danielle Hooyman of Combined Locks; Steve Hooyman and special friend Holly Severt of Minneapolis; a sister Dee Bauman of Appleton; 5 grandchildren: Derrek, Breanna and Tyler Hooyman of Appleton; Antonio and Abriel Hooyman of Combined Locks; 2 sisters-in-law: Therese Hooyman of Greenville and Lorraine Hooyman of Little Chute. He is further survived by his wife’s family: a brother-in-law: Elmer (Sally) Schroth of Appleton, 4 sisters-in-law: Lenora Helser of Appleton, LaVerne Knapstein of Appleton, Marion Schroth of Menasha and Lorraine Schroth of Appleton, other relatives and friends. Preceeding Joe in death were 3 brothers: Harold, Leo and Robert; 3 sisters: Marie (Otto) Coenen; Evelyn (Al) Huiseman; Della (Clarence) VanHeuklon; a brother-in-law: Bill Baumann.

    The funeral mass will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday April 30, 2005 at Holy Spirit Parish at Holy Angels Church Building in Darboy with the Rev. Thomas Pomeroy officiating. Burial will take place at Holy Angels Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel on Friday from 4 PM to 7 PM and at the church on Saturday from 9am until the time of service. A parish wake service will be held Friday 6:30 PM at the funeral chapel.

    Memorials may be directed to Theda Care At Home Hospice or Larson Lions Club.

    Baumann, Delores T.
    Delores T. "Dee" Baumann, age 75, of Appleton, slipped peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, January 25, 2009, at home surrounded by her family. She was born December 22, 1933, in Freedom, the daughter of the late Joseph and Dora (Verhagen) Hooyman. She graduated from Freedom High School. Dee married Victor W. Baumann, Jr. on December 30, 1953, sharing 41 years together before he passed away of cancer in 1994. Dee was employed by Home Instead Senior Care as a caregiver for six years, at which time fate turned and she was to receive their services to enhance her life at the end. Dee was also employed by AAA for quite a while, where she was the top insurance sales person.
    Dee was an active charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church of Appleton, where she was a Eucharist Minister and a greeter. Dee's pride and joy were her grandchildren: Shaun, Travis, Morgan and Kristin. Dee enjoyed her computer, the Packers, reading, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles and being with her family and friends.
    Dee is survived by her four children and their spouses: Linda L. (Todd) Fischer, David L. (Betsy) Baumann, Russ J. (Lynn) Baumann, Michelle A. (Tim) Wyngaard; four grandchildren, whom she adored: Shaun and Travis Fischer, Morgan and Kristin Wyngaard. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law: Lorraine, Therese and Florence Hooyman.
    She is further survived by her husband's family: Mary (Jack) Timmerman, Betty (Jerome) Fischer, Sal Vanden Heuvel, Pete (Liz) Baumann, Cory (Neal) Coppens, Joan (Vern) Kempen, Jane (Willard) Woelfel, Cliff (Pamela) Baumann, Donna (Robert) Ziesmer, and Michael Baumann.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, mother and father-in-law: Victor and Hildegarde Baumann, Sr.; four brothers: Harold, Leo, Robert and Joseph, Jr.; three sisters: Marie (Otto) Coenen, Evelyn (Al) Huisman, Della (Clarence) Van Heuklon; and a sister-in-law, Barbara King.
    The Funeral Liturgy for Dee will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 W. Marquette Street, Appleton. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of mass. A parish prayer and scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

    Age 62, died Friday, November 4, 1994 at the Appleton Medical Center following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born November 30, 1931 in Milwaukee the son of Victor and Hildegarde (Moser) Baumann St. On December 30, 1953 Victor married the former Delores "Dee" Hooyman. Since 1956 Bill had been self employed as a masonry contractor in the area until his retirement in the summer of 1993. Victor was a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Pius X Catholic Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Delores "Dee", Appleton; his parents: Victor and Hildegarde Baumann Sr., Appleton; two daughters: Linda "Lin" (Todd) Fischer, Wausau, Michelle Baumann and Her special friend, Tim Wyngaard, Appleton; two sons: David (Betsy) Baumann, Appleton; Russell Baumann, Neenah; two grandsons: Shaun and Travis Fischer, Wausau; three brothers: Jerome (Elizabeth) Baumann, Nashville, Tennessee; Clifford (Pamela) Baumann and Michael (Renee) Baumann, both of Appleton; seven sisters: Mary (Jack) Timmerman, Betty (Jerome) Fischer,Sal VandenHeuvel, Corrine (Cornelius) Coppens, Joan (Vern) Kempen, all of Appleton; Jane (Willard) Wolfel, Chilton; and Donna (Robert) Ziesemer, Appleton. Victor was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara King. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, November 7, 1994 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette St. with Father David Schmidt officiating. Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St. and again Monday directly at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of services. A prayer and scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
