    Pieters, William J.
    William J. Pieters, age 56, of Kaukauna, died peacefully on Thursday, February 28, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Hospital after a 24-year battle with paralysis. He was born February 12, 1952, in Kaukauna to the late Victor Pieters and Elizabeth (Maes) Pieters. Bill owned and operated Tiger Trax Tavern in Kaukauna until 1983 when he was paralyzed as the result of a diving accident. He was an avid NASCAR and football fan and also enjoyed his German Shepherd "Greta."

    He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth, Kaukauna; a daughter, Rachel Pieters; a son, Jason Pieters; a grandson, Cole William Pieters; two brothers: Joe (Gloria) Pieters, Boyceville, WI; and Tom (Deb) Pieters, Kaukauna; three sisters: Rose (Jim) Hooyman, Phoenix, AZ; Jean (Gerry) Ebben, Kaukauna; and Tess (Bobby) Martin, Greenleaf; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    He was preceded in death by his father, Victor; and a son, Chad.

    It was William's wish to be cremated. Memorial Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2008, at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Kaukauna. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in his name. 920-766-2099.

    Fahl, Werner R. Werner R. Fahl, 84, Little Chute, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2006. He was born December 15, 1921, son of the late Claus and Bertha (Dwenger) Fahl, in Uetersen, Holstein, Prussia and immigrated to America when he was four years old. He always remembered seeing the Statue of Liberty for the first time.

    Werner graduated from Menasha High School in 1939 and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the First Motion Picture unit based in California.

    He was a member of the Elks Club, Rotary Club and actively involved in the Menasha Little League Baseball program.

    Werner is survived by his second wife, Joan; his children with his first wife, Lorraine: Bob (Ann), Nancy (Alan) Brush, Tom, Ron (Becky), Jim (Kathy), Mary (Ty) Wagner and Kathy (Glenn) Schmidt. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 step-daughters.

    Funeral services for Werner will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2006, 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 516 De Pere Street, Menasha. Family and friends will be received on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service, with military rites after the funeral mass by the William Verhagen Post #60. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery.

  • Note: Loretta M. Green, 91, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. She was born July 31, 1924 in Freedom, WI, daughter of the late Peter and Dorothy (Van Lanen) Van Rossum. Loretta attended Sunny Corners Elementary School .She married the late Melvin A. Green on June 1, 1944 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. The Greens farmed for 30 years on their dairy farm, and then Loretta did custodial work for St. Paul Catholic Church. Loretta served as a 4-H leader and enjoyed hobbies such as cake decorating, quilting, ceramics, sewing, cooking, camping, playing cards, bowling, ballroom and square dancing. Loretta was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown.

    Loretta will be deeply missed by her 10 Children: Joni Vande Hey, Appleton, Kenny (Kathy) Green, Appleton, Sherry Green, Tucson, AZ., Glenn (Kathy) Green, Appleton, Peggy (Tom) Galloway, De Pere, Linda (Chuck) Roehrborn, Kaukauna, Wendy (Jay) Kassera, Hortonville, Wayne (Carolyn) Green, Greenleaf, Kevin Green, Darboy and Dori (Jim) Villenauve, Green Bay; 23 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law Agnes Nolan of DePere, Marion (Merle) Van Handel, Green Bay and RosieVan Rossum along with a host of loving nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her best friend, riding and shopping partner, Wimpi (Raymond) Van Dyn Hoven, and special friends: Helen Hubbard, Ellen Schiebe, and Sharon and Monty Reynolds.

    Loretta is preceded in death by her husband Melvin Green, her parents Peter and Dorothy Van Rossum, along with the following siblings: Adrian (Ella) Van Rossum, Bertha (Ed) Van Domelen, George (Ruth) Van Rossum, One infant brother William, Charles (Harriet) Van Rossum, Norbert Van Rossum, Henry (Gertrude) Van Rossum and one sister-in- law Luella Van Rossum. Also preceding Loretta in death are her in-laws as follows: Margaret Reiter, Jim and Laura Achten, Harvey and Reta Green, and Robert Nolan.

    Family and friends may visit at St. Clare Catholic Parish-St. Paul Site, Wrightstown, on Wednesday, August 3, from 4:00pm-7:00pm, with a Parish Prayer Service concluding the evening. Visitation will continue on Thursday, at the church, from 9:30am-10:45am. The Mass of Christian Burial for Loretta will be celebrated at 11:00am with Rev. Brian Wideman officiating. Burial in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Wrightstown. Cotter Funeral Home of Wrightstown is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.

He was born December 17, 1919 in Kaukauna, WI, son of the late Joseph and Ardene (Van Hoof) Green. Melvin married Loretta Van Rossum on June 1, 1944 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. He farmed for 30 years on his own dairy farm, and then worked at Kaukauna Club Cheese for ten years. Melvin was a member of the American Dairy Association, and he enjoyed camping, biking, woodworking, square dancing, and bowling. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown, where he was an usher.

    He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 69 years, Loretta, Kaukauna; ten children: Joni VandeHey, Appleton, Kenneth (Kathy) Green, Kaukauna, Sherry Green, Tucson, AZ, Glenn (Kathy) Green, Appleton, Peggy (Tom) Galloway, De Pere, Linda (Chuck) Roehrborn, Kaukauna, Wendy (Jay) Kassera, Hortonville, Wayne (Carolyn) Green, Greenleaf, Kevin Green, Darboy, Dori (Jim) Villenauve, Green Bay; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marion (Merle) Van Handel, Green Bay, and Agnes Nolan of De Pere; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Family and friends may call Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. Clare Parish-St.Paul site, Wrightstown, where there will be a parish prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday at church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 10:30 a.m., with Fr.     Age 71, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born Jan. 30, 1908, in De Pere and had lived and farmed in the Town of Freedom all of his life. He is survived by his wife, Ella Geurts Van Rossum; three daughters: Mrs. Myron (La Verne) Arnoldussen and Mrs. Wayne (Rose Mary) Grode, both of Freedom, and Mrs. Roger (Bernice) Dercks, Little Chute; four sons: James, Ripon; Donald, Pickerel; Ronald and Eugene both of Freedom; four brothers: Charles and Norbert, both of Wrightstown; George, Oneida; and Henry, Freedom; two sisters: Mrs. Edward (Bertha Van Domelen, Little Chute, and Mrs. Melvin (Loretta) Green, Wrightstown; 27 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom with the Rev. Leander Nickel officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna, after 3 p.m. Monday. There will be a prayer service Monday at 8 p.m.
