Biography

  • Birth: Roger George Noonan was born on May 26, 1940.
  • Death: He died on January 12, 2007, at age 66.
  • Note: January 17, 2007

Noonan, Roger George Roger George Noonan, 66, died January 12, 2007, of head injuries suffered in a fall at his home. He was born on May 26, 1940, and lived in the Fox Valley most of his life. He was a business owner (ServiceMaster by Noonan) before his retirement to Lily Lake in Forest County. He was a long-term member of the Optimists' Club and the NRA.

Roger is survived by a large family who loved him dearly. He was married to Nancy, the love of his life and his best friend, for 49 years, and they often said that their family was their greatest accomplishment. Together they had six children, and he is survived by her, their children, and their families: Gwen Noonan, Amy Noonan, Rory and Lori Noonan, Adam and Cindy Noonan, Eric and Diane Noonan, Erin Noonan and Tim Minsart; and 13 grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings: Mary (Ray) Harvey, Eugene (Natalie) Noonan, and Richard Noonan; by his brothers- and sisters-in-law: Donna (David) Lund, David Coenen, and Carol Noonan; and by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ferna Noonan; his sister Priscilla; and his brothers John and Ralph.

Many people will remember Roger for his "excellent" attitude, his unique sense of humor, and his love of the outdoors. He was always there to help anyone who needed it, and never expected anything in return. He was a stubborn Irishman who believed in hard work and took pride in being a "cheap smack." His grandchildren remember him as being both strong and silly. Roger's enjoyment of life was contagious, and he shared it with family, friends, neighbors, business associates, and customers.

A private memorial was held for the family, and a memorial celebration of Roger's life will be held on June 23, 2007, at Lily Lake. Memorials are preferred to the Lily Lake Association, 1284 Lily Lake Lane, Pickerel, Wisconsin 54465.
