  • Note: There are so many wonderful memories I remember of my Grandpa Tom. He was always there for me, read me lots of books when I was younger, played games with me, and made the best Kitty Cocktails.
Every Friday during Lent my family, my aunts and uncles, and my cousins went to my Grandma's and Grandpa's house for fish. My Grandpa would always ask the kids if they wanted a Kitty cocktail. Of course we always said yes. So he would get out the 7-Up, cherry juice, and cherries and make us all a drink. He used the right amount of cherry juice to make it just perfect.
Every Christmas the grandkids would give him a case of 7-Up, a bottle of cherry juice, and a jar of cherries. He would laugh every time he would open the present.
Since my Grandpa died, we continue to have Kitty Cocktails, but they just aren't the same.
    Katie Aman, 2007.

My Grandma is really good at Rummy 500. She always beats me but sometimes, if I'm lucky, I win. Whenever we go up north she is always playing cards with someone.
My Grandma used to take care of me when I was sick. When I couldn't stay home alone, I would go to my Grandma's house and she would make sure I would be okay. When I was younger I would sleep at her house and she would make me the best breakfast ever.
My Grandma lives by herself because my Grandpa died 5 years ago. She is busy all the time but I'm happy when we get to spend time with her so she isn't alone.
