    Mrs. Arthur (Theresa) Cevene, 325 E. Taft St., age 80, died at 9:45 p.m. thursday unexpectedly. She was born on September 5, 1893 in Darboy and had lived in the Appleton area most of her life. Mrs. Cevene was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
    She is survived by a son, Jerome O. Cevene, New York; three brothers, Eugene Hopfensperger, Harry Hopfensperger, Raymond Hopfensperger, all of Appleton; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Jones, Appleton, Mrs. Joanne Wallace, Green Bay, Mrs. Helen Elyard, Ogdensburg, Wis., three grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Wilbert Staudenmaier officiating. Burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery, Darboy. Friends may call at the Valley Funeral Home from 3 p.m. Monday until 10 .m. Tuesday. A Scripture Service will be conducted at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Monday.

    Herman Hopfensperger, 60, Rt. 2 Menasha, an employee of the city of Appleton, died at 8o'clock this morning in Appleton after a short illness. He was born December 17, 1885, in Darboy and lived in the Appleton area for most of his life.

    Survivors include his widow; five daughters, Mrs. Richard Jansen, Little Chute, and June, Sharon, Lynda and Marlene, all at home; five sons, Herman Jr., Alvin, Kenneth, William and Thomas, all at home; six brothers, Harry, Raymond and Eugene, all of Appleton, William, Abbottsford, Peter, Junction City, and Alex, Neenah; four sisters, Mrs. Arthur Cevene, and Mrs. Anna Schaefer, both of Appleton, Mrs. Helen Zimmerman, Ugdensburg, and Mrs. Mike Wallace, Green Bay; and five grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning at Wichman Funeral Home, where friends may call after 7 o'clock Saturday night and from 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon until the time of service.

    Sadie was born March 17, 1923 in Appleton, daughter of the late Edward and Hilda (Reneir) Nass. She was united in marriage to Herman Hopfensperger on November 1, 1946 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Most important to her was her family. She loved spending time with her twin sister Sylvia and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She volunteered at Oneida Heights and enjoyed playing Rummy and Bingo. Sadie was also a member of Calvary Chapel in Appleton.

    Sadie is survived by her eight children, Herman (Lynn) Hopfensperger, Pelican Lake; Alvin (Kathy) Hopfensperger, William (Judy) Hopfensperger, Tom (Sue) Hopfensperger, all of Appleton; Kenny Hopfensperger, New York; June Manos, Appleton; Sharon Knoll, Neenah; and Linda Harter, Clintonville; 19 Grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren; a brother, William "Bud" Nass, Elkhorn; two sisters, her twin Sylvia Hopfensperger, and Hildegard Verberten, Orlando, FL; and by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Sadie was also preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Marlene Beyer and son-in-law Raymond Beyer, three brothers, William, Edward and Harold Nass, and by two sisters, Leora Meidam and Lylas Young and a brother-in-law, Eugene and several other family members.

    The funeral service will be held 11:30AM Friday, October 25, 2013 at Calvary Chapel 2136 Newberry Street, Appleton, with Pastor Dwight Douville officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Sadie's family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 10:00AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Sadie's name.

    Marlene A. Hopfensperger, Black Creek, age 48, died Thursday January 11, 2001, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born in Appleton on December 29, 1952 to Herman C. and Sadie V. (Ness) Hopfensperger. Marlene loved living in the country, her flower garden and pets. She also enjoyed going for rides, cooking and dining out. Marlene will be sadly missed by a very special friend and life time companion, Raymond Beyer of Black Creek. Together they had a very sweet little girl, Theresa. Marlene lived for many years with Raymond and his family, and was a step mom to his six children. She enjoyed visiting with her mom, Sadie Hopfensperger of Appleton.

    Marlene is further survived by a son, Shawn; step children, Penny (Al) Teuscheck, Mi,; Laurie (James) Shomin, Kaukauna; Bill Beyer; Jackie (Larry) Skonnetski; John (Dawn) Beyer and Tom (Robin) Beyer, all of Black Creek; brothers, Herman C. (Lynn) Hopfensperger, Menasha; Alvin P. (Kathy) Hopfensperger, Appleton; Kenneth J. Hopfensperger, Syracuse, NY.; William J. (Judy) Hopfensperger Sr. and Thomas J. (Susan) Hopfensperger, both of Appleton; sisters, Angel Manos of Appleton; Sharon Knoll, Neenah; Linda (John) Harter of Redgranite; other relatives and friends.

    Marlene was preceded in death by her father Herman C. Hopfensperger. A memorial service will be on Monday, January 15, 2001, at 6 pm at the Valley Funeral Home. The visitation will be from 4 pm until the hour of service at the funeral home. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial has been established.

    Beyer, Raymond John Raymond John Beyer, Black Creek, age 83, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 14, 2007, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Seymour. He was born February 27, 1924, in Wisconsin, the son of the late William and Katherine (Hilgenberg) Beyer. Ray was a mechanic for 15 years with Art Hooyman, and then was employed with the Neenah Foundry for 25 years, and he also farmed his entire life. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Black Creek.

    He is survived by his children: Penny (Alan) Tauscheck, Pembine; Laurie Beyer (special friend, Dennis) Seymour; William (Julee) Beyer, Seymour; Jackie Beyer (special friend, John) Iron Mountain, MI; John (Dawn) Beyer, Seymour; Tom (Robin) Beyer, and Theresa Beyer (special friend, Dean) all of Black Creek; his grandchildren: Casey, Mellisa, Christopher, Corey, Eric, Brandon, Tegan, Dylan, Haley, Cliff, Amanda, Cassie, Cole, Dustin, Dakota, Alecia, Kimberly, Haley, Cody, Jonathon, Cyle, Dylan, Samantha and Brooke; also, 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilbur (Elmyra) Beyer, Black Creek; and a sister, Clara Rohloff, Appleton.

    He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters; a great-granddaughter, Michaela; a longtime special friend, Marlene Hopfensperger; and former wife, Faith Owen.

    Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 S. Main St., Seymour, on Friday, March 16, 2007, from 4 to 6 p.m., with services at 6 p.m., at the funeral home, with Pastor Stephen Schlicht officiating.     John was born on Dec. 10, 1956, in Milton, Fla., the son of the late Laurie and Ida Mae (Black) Harter. He was raised in Milton, Fla., where he later graduated from high school. On Aug. 6, 1993, he married Linda Hopfensperger in Pensacola, Fla. The couple lived in Florida until 1994 when they moved to Menasha. In 2009, they moved to Clintonville, where they have lived since.

    John worked at a building supply business in Florida and then worked at Clearwater Paper Co., Neenah, until retirement because of his health. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, playing video games on his X-Box and driving his Ford Bronco. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and his three dog companions, Brandy, Shotzie and Maia.

    Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Linda; two daughters, Dee (Ronald) Mielke, Menasha; Dawn Peeters (special friend, Jason Luft), Clintonville; two sons, Daniel E. Hedtke (special friend, Stacy Christian), New London; Sean Harter, Panama City, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and his brother, James "Jimmy" Harter, Milton, Fla.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

    Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Marion, with the Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating.

    Friends may call at the funeral home in Marion, on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
