    Lambie, Marion A. Marion Lambie, of Kaukauna, passed away peacefully at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna. Marion was 90. She was born in Dunn County, Wisconsin on April 22, 1916, daughter of the late John and Anna (Weiss) DeGoey. On September 14, 1937, she married William Lambie; he preceded her in death in 1978. Marion had been employed by Giddings and Lewis for some fifteen years, and later worked at the Kaukauna Community Hospital for thirteen years. Always an avid bowler, Marion carried a 158 average until the age of 87! In 1984, she took over the operation of the local senior citizen bowling leagues. For nine years, she spent her summers at Lakeland Hills Golf Course in Jackson, Michigan. Marion was also a longtime and faithful member of Peace United Methodist Church in Kaukauna where she enjoyed volunteering her time serving meals for various activities there.

    Marion is survived by six loving children: Bill Lambie of Kaukauna; John (Judy) Lambie of Kaukauna; Maggie (John) Gilson of Jackson, Michigan; Merle Lambie of Neenah; Ann (Pahl) Ploetz of Kaukauna; and David Lambie of Menasha; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; two brothers: John DeGoey of Kaukauna and James DeGoey of Kaukauna.

    Marion was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William in 1978, a daughter Mary Ann in 1945, an infant son Scott, a son Jim in 1980, a daughter-in-law Kari (nee Zwerg) Lambie in 2000, two sisters Dorothy (LeRoy) Westby and Mathilda (Jack) Ullery, and two brothers William (Charlotte) DeGoey and Harold DeGoey.

    The funeral service for Marion will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 28, 2006, at PEACE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 2300 E. Wisconsin Avenue in Kaukauna with Rev. Tim Albrecht officiating. Interment will be in Kelso Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday evening. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established, in care of The Marion Lambie Estate, P.O. Box 364, Kaukauna, WI 54130.

    The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the many caregivers who gave so much of themselves. They include everyone at St. Elizabeth Hospital as well as the staff at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

John Henry Verbruggen

  • Birth: John Henry Verbruggen was born on January 23, 1923 in Netherlands.
  • Marriage: He was married on February 1, 1949 in St John Nepomucene Church, Little Chute, Wisconsin.
  • Death: He died on January 15, 2015, at age 91.
  • Burial: He was buried in St John Cemetery, Little Chute, Wisconsin, New/11/102.
  • Note: When grandpa was young he played with his buddies by the river at Doyle Park. He had a bike and a wagon. His family had to TVs, only radios. He listened to a radio show called Gang Busters. He went to St. John School and didn't wear uniforms. There were 39 nuns at St. John's back then. He was taught to respect one another and always help out your neighbor.
    His dad drove a Ford Model-T.
    At the age of 18 my grandpa went into World War II. He was stationed in Europe. His mother died while my grandpa was at war. My grandpa is a hero, isn't he?

  • Note: John "Yon" Henry Verbruggen

    John H. Verbruggen, 91, of Little Chute, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 15, 2015. He was born on January 23, 1923, in Holland, son of the late Henry and Caroline (Van Rhyn) Verbruggen. John married Elizabeth "Betty" Ebben on February 1, 1949, and together celebrated 65 years of marriage. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. John began his career working with his father at Verbruggen and Sons Construction. He retired as the building inspector for the Village of Little Chute. He was a long time member of the Little Chute Fire Department, Jacob Coppus American Legion Post #258, and the Little Chute Kiwanis Club.

    John is survived by his wife, Betty; his children: Mike (Paula), Chris (Terry) Eiting, Don (Diane), Jerry (Denise) and Ann (Chris) Minten; a daughter-in-law, Connie Verbruggen; grandchildren: Jon Verbruggen, Dana (Ryan) Hausmann, Jill Eiting, Jenny (Andy) Sebero, Kaiti Verbruggen, Pete Verbruggen, Erin (Ben) Dercks, Jeff Verbruggen, Laura Verbruggen, Ashley Minten and Tyler Minten; great-grandchildren: Vander, Vosten, Drew and Jordy; a sister, Joanne; brothers and sisters-in-law: Barbara Levandowski, Marv (Mattie) Ebben, Ike (Bill) Hammen, Fr. Bertrand Ebben, O.P., and Mary Jane Verbruggen; and many other family members and friends.

    John was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Todd; siblings: Jakie (Rich) Ebben, Casey Verbruggen, and infant brother Casey Verbruggen; brothers and sisters-in-law: Leslie Cobb, John Levandowski, Ione (Bill) Van Sambeek, Robert Ebben, Rita Ebben and infant Ida Ebben.

    Ed was embraced by his Lord and savior on Thursday October 1st 2015 after a very courageous battle with cancer. He ended his life as he lived it, spending time with the love of his life, Lori and his precious children, Ben and Amanda. Ed was born in Kaukauna on March 15th 1962. He graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1980 where he distinguished himself as a good student, leader, friend, and Lang Trophy recipient. Ed's strong faith and devotion to the lord was the foundation of his life. He was one of the chairman for the parish picnic at Saint Bernadette. He was also a member of Kiwanis Club. Ed graduated from St. Norbert College where he earned his degree in Communications with a concentration in business. Ed married Lori on April 28th 1989. He loved his job working as a Business Development Manager for Print Pro Inc where he continued working throughout his battle. Ed enjoyed fishing and hunting at his cabin with a treasure group of guys including his father and his son. Ed loved listening to his three favorite sounds of nature, the echo of a loon, geese flying overhead, and an elk bugling in the distance. These sounds will continue to be a part of his spirit in heaven and here on earth.

    Ed is survived by his wife of 26 years, Lori; two beloved children: Ben and Amanda; siblings: Tom (Chris), Connie (Michael), Kate (John); parents: Tom and Mary; mother-in-law: Joanne; Sisters-in-law: Debbie and Sara (Rick); and his faithful black lab Kendal. He was proceeded in death by his father-in-law, Ron.
