    Rural Appleton Man Dies
    Joesph Henry Hopfensperger, Route 4, Appleton, died at 4:30 a.m. Tursday following a long illness. He was 68, born January 10, 1901 in the Town of Buchanan, Mr. Hopfensperger farmed in the Town of Harrison most of his life . He retired in 1967 . He belonged to the Catholic Knights of Darboy.
    Survivors include his wife, Marie; three daughters, Miss. Lucy and Miss Mary Hopfensperger, at home; and Mrs. Carl ( Marion) Buchinger, Rt 3 Kaukauna; two sons, Edward and Roger, at home; four brothers, Richard, Reynold, Earl, all of Rt 4 Appleton; Elmer, Rt 4 Kaukauna; four sisters, Mrs. Otto (Lucy) Lemke and Mrs. Robert (Blanche) Lehrer, both of Neenah; Mrs. Alois (Carmen) Thiel, Rt 1 Menasha; Mrs. Molly Coffey, Milwaukee; and 10 grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from Holy Angels Catholic Church, Darboy. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna. The parish rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Thursday...

    Richard M. Hopfensperger 'Hoppy' 1511 E. John St., Appleton, age 86, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, July 29, 1995. He was born in Darboy on September 11, 1908, the son of Joha and Petronella (VanHandel) Hopfensperger. On July 11, 1936 om Appleton and she preceded him in death on May 5, 1986. Richard had worked at Kimberly Clark for many years where he was a member of their Quarter Century Club and also farmed in Darboy durng the same time. He retired from Kimberly Clark in 1973 and continued farming after hi retirement. He was a member of Sacred Heart Choir for many years and enjoyed dancing and his work horses.

    Survivors include three sons and daughters in-law; Richard (Margaret) Hopfensperger, Menasha; Thomas (Sharon) Hopfensperger, Appleton; Keith (Linda) Hopfensperger, Darboy; two daughters and a son in-law; Elizabeth Achterberg and her special friend Buzz Nelson, Neenah; Debra (Robert) Solberg, Brillion; 12 grandchildren; two brothers; Reynold (Ceil) Hopfensperger, Earl (Mary) Hopfensperger, all of Darboy; three sisters; Louise Lemke, Kaukauna; Blanche Lehrer, Neenah; Carmen Biese, Sherwood; a special niece and caregiver, Lucille Hopfensperger, Appleton.

    He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia; two brothers, a sister, three half-sisters and five half-brothers. The Mass of Resurrection will be held on Tuesday August 1, 1995 at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Highway KK, Darboy, with Father Harold Berryman officiating. Interment will follow in the Holy Angels Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St. on Monday from 4 until 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the cortege leaves for the church. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday. A memorial fund is being established.

    Elmer Hopfensperger, Rt 4 Kaukauna, age 62, died Wednesday afternoon after a four month illness. He was born December 23, 1915, in the town of Buchanan, and lived and farmed all of his life in the Darboy area.

    Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Roger L. (Kathleen) Wilcox, Neenah; three brothers; Richard and Reynold, Rt 4 Appleton; Earl, Rt 4 Kaukauna; three sisters; Mrs. Otto (Louise) Lemke and Mrs. Robert (Blanche) Lehrer, both of Neenah; Mrs. Robert (Carmen) Biese, Rt 1 Menasha; three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen in 1965.

    The complete funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Darboy. His nephew, Rev. Ronald Hopfensperger will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Sunday. A memorial fund has been established in his name for the American Cancer Society.

    Louise Laurentine Lemke, St. Paul Home, Kaukauna, age 92, formerly of Neenah, died Sunday, November 29, 1998, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born April 4, 1906, in Darboy, daughter of John and Petronella (Van Handel) Hopfensperger. Lucy Married Otto Lemke on Febuary 4, 1939, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Menasha, and preceded her in death January 17, 1988. Mrs. Lemke was a membar of Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Neenah.

    She is survived by her son and daudhter-in-law, John " Jack" and Louise Lemke, Watertown; three grandchildren, Katherine ( Bryan Bichler, Cedar Grove, Wi.; Robert ( Andrea ) Lemke, Miami, Fl.; and Abigail Lemke, Watertown; a great-grand child, Olivia Lemke, Miami, Fl.; two brothers, Jim (Ceil) Hopfensperger, Darboy; Earl (Mary) Hopfensperger, Kaukauna; and one sister, Carmen Biese, Sherwood.

    Mrs. Lemke was also preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 1998, at St. Margaret Mary Church with the Rev. David Koch officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. Friends may call at the Kessler Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from 9 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service. The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

    Katherine Blanche (Hopfensperger) Lehrel Van Dyne, Formerly of Neenah, age 87, died on Monday November 24, 1997 in the loving arms of her daughter, Rosemary at Rosemary's home in Van Dyne. Katherine Blanche was born November 17, 1910 in Darboy, the daughter of the late John and Nellie (Van Handel) Hopfensperger. Blanche was united in marriage to Robert R. Lehrer, January 8, 1934 in Darboy. She was a charter member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah.

    Survivers include two daughters and sons in-law; Theresa (Otto) Zoesch, Neenah; Rosemary (Michael) Weninger, Van Dyne; five sons and daughters in-law; Robert J.     Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Lehrer; a son, Richard Lehrer; a daughter in-law; Lilas Lehrer; three grandchildren; Diane Zoesch, Christopher and Jody Lehrer; 14 brothers and sisters.

    Friends and relatives may call at Kessler Funeral Home, Neenah from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday November 28, 1997 where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. and Saturday November 28, 1997 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. mass which would be celebrated by Father Richard Allen. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Rosemary Weninger for her gentle care giving to Hospice, especially Mary Ketterhagen, further thanks to Dr. Stephen Dernlan.
