John J Hollenback

    Age 62, died recently at his home after a short illness. Son of John J. Hollenback Sr. and Marie (Keller) of Appleton, he graduated from St. Therese Grade School, Appleton Senior High (1948), Lawrence College
    (1957), and served in the .S. Army Engineer Corp, Korea 195354
    as a First Lieutenant. He received
    his M.S. from UW-Madison in 1957 (math/computer) and was employed in Los Angeles, California
    in aerospace and aircraft industries
    until 1964. At that time, he married Barbara Lesjack, Hales Corners, Wisconsin and began 20 years of service with Allis-Chalmers
    in West Allis as a Manager in Quality Control. During this period he earned his MBA at Marquette University. In 1984 he joined Green Bay Public Service as a planning analyst and served until the present.
    He also sang with the popular company chorale that performed for many civic and charitable functions.
    He was a longtime member and past president of the Milwaukee
    Chapter-Quality Control Engineers.
    He was also a member Post 38 Appleton American Legion and Knights of Columbus, Wind Lake. He performed and directed 14 years with the Appleton Sons of American Legion Drum and Bugle Corps, now known as "The Americanos",
    -until he I fer Los Angeles.
    There he performed with the LA Imperials Sr. Corps until 1964. -Currently, he was an active parent,
    assisting Northman Corp of Green . -Bay and Madison Scout Corp in which his son, Chris is performing. John is survived by his beloved Wife, Barbara; a daughter, Dr. Elizabeth,
    Seattle; three sons: David (Monica), Seattle; Jay, Miami and Chris at home; in-laws: Mr. & Mrs. Matt Lesjack, Wind Lake; sister-inlaw,
    Pam (Dick) Bronk, Plymouth; a sister, Mary, Milwaukee; three brothers: Tom, Neenah; Dr. James, Milwaukee; and Robert (Mary Ann), New Berlin; nieces and nephews:
    Sharon, Tony, Tim and Jessica;
    grandniece, Brittany. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard; two sisters: Margaret (Mrs. Ed Arndt) and infant.
    Ann. John was a Liturgical Minister at Resurrection Catholic ChUrch, Allouez. Funeral Mass was celebrated by Pastor Father Paul Demuth on Monday, May 17. A memorial
    fund is being established.

  • Note: Thomas J. Hollenback, age 78, of Appleton, died Thursday evening, following a short illness. He was born November 11, 1929, to the late John J. and Marie T. (Keller) Hollenback, in Appleton, where he was a resident all of his life. Tom served with the U. S. Marine Corps in Korea. He had been employed by J. J. Keller for several years. Tom had been very involved with the Boy Scouts and the Americanos Drum and Bugle Corps. He is survived by his brother, Robert G. (Maryann) Hollenback, New Berlin, WI; his sister, Mary T. Hollenback, Milwaukee; a sister-in-law, Barbara Hollenback, Elkhart Lake; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Margaret (Edward) Arndt, and three brothers, Richard, John and Jim Hollenback. The funeral liturgy for Thomas will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 West Lawrence Street, with Father Larry Abler, OFM. Cap. officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 am Tuesday, until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.

  • Note: Age 73, of Manawa was reunited with her husband, Leonard, and her two sons, Brian and Thomas, in heaven on Wednesday, August 30, 2006. She passed peacefully in the early morning with her family by her side. She was born on September 28, 1932 to William and Leona (Bertram) Balthazor. Lorraine graduated from New London High School in May of 1950. She married her true love, Leonard Lowney, on July 19, 1950 in Bear Creek, Wisconsin. Lorraine was a loving, dedicated wife and mother. Her greatest joy was watching her children and grandchildren. She sat through many football games and wrestling matches with a smile on her face.

    Lorraine is survived by her children: Kathleen Robley (Tom Kufahl), Mark (Mary) Lowney, Gerald (Barbara) Lowney, Mary (Randy) Miller, Steven (Malia) Lowney, William Lowney, JoAnn (Paul) Schmidt, Daniel Lowney, Richard (Rita) Lowney, James (Lori) Lowney, Robert (Tammy) Lowney, Donn (Tina) Lowney, Terri Clark, and Shawn (Jason) Treichel; daughter-in-law, DeeDee Lowney; brothers, Loyes (Mary) Balthazor and Raymond (Shirley) Balthazor; sister-in-laws, Sister Mary Ellen Lowney and Rosemary Lowney; 38 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 8 step-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

    Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Lowney (03-03-93); her sons, Thomas Lowney (06-12-93) and Brian Lowney (12-04-93); grandson, Dominic Lowney; parents, William and Leona Balthazor; sister, Joyce Balthazor; and brother-in-law, William Lowney.

    The Funeral Mass for Lorraine that will celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 12:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa with Rev. Paul Vanden Hogen officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
