  • Note: Carrie F. Forster, age 54, passed away on Monday, October 5 after a long journey with cancer. She was born on July 29, 1961 in Appleton. Carrie went on to graduate from Appleton West High School in 1980. In her adult life she worked for many years as a sales representative at United Paper Corporation in Menasha.

    Carrie loved birds, flowers and spending time with friends, but the most important part of her life was her loving daughter, Calyn. Carrie and Calyn had an inseparable relationship. They loved every minute that they spent together. Carrie and Calyn loved watching funny movies, taking shopping trips and cuddling. Carrie was the queen of the gardening and passed those special skills on to Calyn. In March of 2014, Carrie was diagnosed with cancer and given just three to six months to live. Carrie, being so strong-willed, fought and turned those three months into 18 months. In those 18 months she was able to be there as Calyn was engaged and later married in April of 2015. Carrie and Calyn shared a relationship that was deep, meaningful and everlasting.

    Carrie is survived by her daughter, Calyn (Jon) Friedl; mother, Eileen Mielke; sister: Theresa (Jim) School; brother, Greg Mielke; ex-husband: Richard Forster.

    She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Mielke; aunts: Eunice Kappel and Dot Mongerelli.

    A funeral service will be held for Carrie at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at WICHMANN-LAEMMRICH FUNERAL HOME (312 Milwaukee St., Menasha). Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Carrie's name.

    Carrie's family would like to extend a special thank you to her special friends, Constance Willes, Katie Locke and Pam Wittock for the love and support they gave to Carrie.

    Benjamin F. Gunderson, 67, a well known Town of Maine farmer, died Saturday evening at the Golden Age home, New London, following a lingering illness.

    Mr. Gunderson was born April 17, 1894, in Pulcifer. He moved with his parents to the Town of Maine when he was a small child. On Dec. 23, 1915, he was married to Miss Edna Sayers, and they lived in Clintonville until 1922 when they moved to a farm in the Town of Maine. Mrs. Gunderson died in 1954, and Mr. Gunderson continued to make his home on the farm until about a year ago when he moved to the Golden Age Home. He was a member of the Outagamie county board for over 18 years.

    Survivors include eight daughters, Murleen, Mrs. Richard Riehl, Appleton; Erma, Mrs. Warren Tyler, Shiocton; June, Mrs. Carl Brandt, Hortonville; Carmen, Mrs. Emery Wincentsen, Veradale, Wash; Grace, Mrs. Hayden Owen, Green Bay; Vera, Mrs. Richard Conlon, Clintonville; Ruth, Mrs. Irvin Buelow, Shiocton, Kathryne, Mrs. Robert Wick, Lake Orion, Mich; six sons, Earl, Manawa; Russell, Janesville; Harland, Clintonville; James, Leon and John all of Appleton.

    Also surviving are three brothers, George, Antigo; Alfred, Milwaukee, and Edward, Kingford Michigan; 46 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2pm at he Eberhardt and Hoh Funeral home, Clintonville, with Evan W. Morford,, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist church, Waupaca officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery.

    Palbearers were Irvin Buelow, Carl Brandt, Warren Tyler, Richard Conlon, Richard Riehl and Hayden Owen.
