  • Note: Darlene F. Buechler, 83, Green Bay, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 after a long 14 year battle with cancer. She was born in Seymour on April 10, 1932 to the late Peter and Mildred (Lambie) Buechler. Darlene was one of the first graduates of the Inhalation Therapy division of Bellin School of Nursing. Darlene was employed at Bellin and St. Mary's Hospitals as a Respiratory Therapist for 27 years, retiring in 1994. She enjoyed tatting, traveling all over the United States and watching all sports. She was an avid Packer fan and attended the Ice Bowl.

    Survivors include her sister, Marilyn (Arthur) Matuszak and their children Dan (Michelle Eales), Gary (Jill), and Sue Plamann (Phil); brothers, Duane Buechler and his children Sheryl Meyer (Todd) and Steve (fiancée Deb Nellis); and Darell (Barbara) Buechler and their children, Jeff (Lee Carpenter) and Jay (Terri). Further survived by other relatives and friends.

    Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Joanne Buechler.

  • Note: Darell Roy Buechler, 80, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at the Jack & Engrid Meng Unity Hospice Residence in DePere after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

    Darell was born October 29, 1936, in Hollandtown, WI, to the late Peter and Mildred (Lambie) Buechler. He attended Pulaski High School, graduating in 1954, and then attended DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago, IL before entering the US Air Force, where he served from 1956 to 1960. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he worked at a radar site on Santa Rosa Island, CA for Philco Corporation, where he instructed Air Force personnel. During this time in California, Darell married his high school sweetheart, the former Barbara Paulus, in 1960 in Oxnard, CA.

    After moving back to Green Bay in 1961, he began a career as an electrical project engineer with Fort Howard Paper Company that spanned the next 34 years, until his retirement in 1995.

    During his retirement, Darell enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and traveling with Barb to visit his children and grandchildren in Pennsylvania and Colorado.

    Darell is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara and his two sons, Jeff (Lee Carpenter) Buechler, of State College, PA and Jay (Terri) Buechler, of Littleton, CO.

    Darell was also a proud and loving grandfather to two grandsons, Calvin and Max Buechler.

    He is further survived by his sister, Marilyn (Arthur) Matuszak; identical twin brother, Duane Buechler; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Audrey Paulus; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Mildred; along with his sister, Darlene Buechler; sister-in-law, Loretta Marnocha; brothers-in-law, Gerald and Donald Marnocha; and sister-in-law, Joanne Buechler.

    Visitation will be on Friday, October 27, 2017, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.     Bud was a graduate of Central Catholic High School (now Notre Dame Academy), Class of 1948. He later attended Loyola University, Chicago, where he graduated in 1952. After graduation, Bud served in the U.S. Army and in the Korean War. Bud received his Master's Degree from U.W. Stout. He taught at Premontre High School for seven years and later at NWTC for 25 years, retiring in 1990. Bud was a member of St. Agnes Parish and an active supporter of Rawhide Boys Ranch and the St. Norbert College Education Department.

    On November 20, 1952, Bud married Nancy Sisson in Chicago. She preceded him in death on June 30, 1988. On June 16, 1990, Bud married Catherine Schmitz at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

    Bud is survived by his wife, Catherine; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas (Sonja) Jacobs, New Zealand; two grandchildren, Celeste (Joel) Faithfull and Michael Jacobs, all of New Zealand; and many other special friends and family.

    He was preceded in death by his parents.

    Friends may call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Patrick C.
