    Bernard "Bud" L. McCabe, ate 86, of 315 Burns Street, Marinette died Tues day, September 7, 1999 at the Bay Area Medical Center. He was born in Po rterfield on April 3, 1913. He had worked in logging camps and also in t he cherry orchards in Door County. He had served in the army during Worl d War II and moved to Marinette in 1947 and resided here since. He had w orked at Scott Paper for 29 years retiring in 1975. He was a member of H oly Family Church, the Scott Retirees and the Senior Citizens. He marrie d the former Norma Smith on February 25, 1943 at Fort Smith, Arkansas. S he died in November of 1995.
    He is survived by 1 son, Dennis (Nancy) McCabe of Myrtle Beach, South Car olina; 1 daugher, Sue (Ron) Schneider of Menominee, 1 brother, Clarence " Lefty McCabe of Marinette; 8 grandchildren, Scott, Matt, Kevin, Kerry, To ry, Heidi, Erik and Sarah; 2 great-grandchildren, Eli and Nicea. He wa s preceded in death by a son, David, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
    Friends may call at the Thielen Funeral Home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Fr iday. A wake service will be held Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral s ervices will be held Saturday morning at 11:30 at Holy Family Church, Tay lor Street. Rev. Lawrence Marto will officiate. Burial will be in Fores t Home Cemetery.
    He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and his cat "Dusty".

  • Note: Muriel E. Stepniak, 74, of 2444 Elm Street, Marinette, died Sunday at hom e. The former Murial McCabe was born in the town of Lake on May 13, 1914 . She attended school in Porterfield and worked on the family farm. Sh e married Bernard Stepniak June 25, 1938 in Walsh. He died in February 1 980. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
    Three sons, Wayne of Palmyre, MO. ; Barry of Menominee; and Allen of Mari nette, survive, along with a daughter, Donna Roggendorf of Rogers, Ark. ; two brothers, Bernard and Clarence of Marinette; two sisters, Doris Jan sen and Bernice Pecard of Marinette; and eight grandchildren. Two brothe rs died previously.
    Friends may call at the Thielen Funeral Home today from 4 to 8 p.m. A pa rish wake service will be at 7. Final rites will be held Wednesday at 1 1 a.m. from Our Lady of Lourdes. The Rev. Ron Belitz will officiate. Bu rial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be David McCabe, Jerry McCabe, Richard Jansen, Paul Jans en, James Pecard and Dale Pecard.

  • Death: Clarence M McCabe died on June 29, 2012, at age 93.
  • Note: Clarence "Lefty" A. Mc Cabe, 93, of Marinette, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012, with his family at his side. He was born on June 9, 1919, to the late Fred L. and Clara (Walters) Mc Cabe in the Town of Lake.
    Lefty moved to Marinette as a young man. On July 1, 1944, Clarence married Fern M. Burns in Marinette. She preceded him in death on February 13, 2002. Lefty worked in roofing and siding all his life; owning and operating Northern Home Improvement for many years retiring in 1985, and was proud that the business is still operated to this day by John Berman. Since retirement he has enjoyed doing woodworking and charitable works in the area. Lefty was a member of Holy Family Parish, serving on the Building and Grounds Committee for many years, the Marinette Knights of Columbus, a past Grand Knight, and several other offices in the council, and the Marinette Elks Lodge.
    Lefty is survived by his son, Jerry (Kathleen) Mc Cabe of Appleton; four daughters: Diana (Ron) Seguin, Joann (Joe) Klumb, both of Marinette, Susan (Ron) Votava of Peshtigo and Debra (Nick) Lesperance of Marinette; a daughter-in-law, Patty Murphy of Marinette; 13 grandchildren: Troy, Chad, Philip, Wendy, Virginia, Rachel, Tobie, Todd, Hannah, Sommer, Zach V., Zach M. and Sonya; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Fern, he was preceded in death by a son, Clarence Jr."Chummy"; three brothers and three sisters.
    Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Sunday, July 8th from 4 to 7 p.m. An Elks Service will be held at 6 p.m. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be held at 6:45 p.m. with the wake service at 7 p.m. Additional time of visitation will be held at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph's Church, Carney Blvd. on Monday, July 9th from 10 a.m. until time of service. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Dorner officiating.
    Entombment will be in Forest Home Mausoleum.
    In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Vincent De Paul, Marinette Youth Baseball Inc., or the Rescue Squad would be appreciated.

Besides her hsuband, she is survived b y 3 sons, George (Nancy), Richard (Kathy), and Paul (Rosie) all of Marine tte; 1 daughter, Gloria (James) Williams of Menominee; 2 brothers, Bernar d "Bud" (Norma) and Clarence "Lefty" (Fern) McCabe, both of Marinette; 1 0 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a special friend Eunice Mulli ns. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, 2 brothers, and 2 sister s.

A wake service will be held Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Funeral service s will be held Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church, Taylo r Street. The Rev. Michael Tess will officiate.     Besides her husband she is survived by 1 son, Dennis (Nancy) of Myrtle Be ach, South Carolina; 1 daughter, Susie (Ron) Schneider of Menominee; 1 br other James Smith of Wisconsin Rapids; 8 grandchildren. A son, David pre ceded her in death last month.
    Friends may call at the Thielen Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m . on Thursday. Altar Society visitation will be at 6:30 p.m. followed b y parish wake service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Frid ay at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, Taylor Street. The Rev.   • Note: Dennis A. McCabe 68, formerly of Marinette passed away on September 29, 2017, at home following a battle with cancer in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Dennis was born August 31, 1949, to the late Bernard “Bud” and Norma (Smith) McCabe in Menominee.
    He graduated from Marinette High School, class of 1967. He went on to serve his country in the Army in Korea during the Vietnam War. He attended college at UW-Oshkosh and then moved to Myrtle Beach. Dennis worked in real estate for Garden City Reality for many years. Dennis married Nancy Allen on May 12, 1978. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, being on Packer pools, his allegiance was mixed between the Packers and the Panthers; and he also loved to play cards in his younger years.
    Dennis is survived by his wife, Nancy, of Myrtle Beach; Kerry Schwanz of Myrtle Beach; and Erik (Lisa) Schwanz of Cornelius, N.C., and their children: Julie, Kate, and Max; sister, Suzy (Ronald) Schneider of Menominee; and nieces and nephews: Scott, Kevin, Heidi, Mathew, Torrie, and Sarah and their children.
    A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

    David L. "Mac" McCabe, age 52, of 1219 Cheri Blvd., died on Thursday, Oct ober 26, 1995 at Parkview Manor in Green Bay following a long illness. B orn in Stevens Point, Wisc. on July 23, 1943, he moved to Marinette a s a child. He was a 1961 graduate of Marinette High School and had atten ded U.W-Milwaukee from 1962-1965. He had served in the Army in Vietnam . For many years he had worked at Badger Paper Mills in Peshtigo. He wa s a member of the Vietnam Veterans Organization. The Military Order of t he Purple Heart and the Menominee VFW Post. He had been very active in t he Marinette Jaycees, was a J.C.I. Senator and a life member of the Marin ette Jaycees. He also helped organize the Tri-City Bi-Centenial Celebrat ion in 1976.
    He is survived by 1 son, Mathew (Gina) of Green Bay; 2 daughters, Torri e Paulsen of Green Bay and Sarah McCabe of Menominee; his parents, Mr. &M rs. Bernard McCabe of Marinette; 1 brother, Dennis (Nancy) of Myrtle Beac h, South Carolina; 1 sister, Susie (Ron) Schneider of Menominee; many nie ces and nephews.
    Friends may call at the Thielen Funeral Home after 1 p.m. on Sunday. Fun eral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Th e Rev. Everett Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Home Ceme tery.

    A Mass of Christian Burial for Fern M. McCabe, 77, 301 Burns St., Marinet te, was conducted Saturday, Feb. 16 at Holy Family Church, Taylor Stree t site. Entombment was in Forest Home Mausoleum. Thielen Funeral Home ser ved the family. She died Wednesday, Feb. 13 at her home. Born Dec. 17 , 1924 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Chester (Melvina Steele) Burns in Sagola , Mich., she moved to Marinette as a young lady and lived there since. O n July 1, 1944 she married Clarence "Lefty" McCabe at the former St. Anth ony's Catholic Church in Marinette. She worked at the former Victory Ba g Company and was the bookkeeper for Northern Home Improvement. She wa s a member of Holy Family Church.
    Survivors include her husband; a son, Jerry (Kathleen) of Appleton; fou r daughters, Mrs. Ron (Diana) Seguin, Mrs. Joe (Joann) Klumb, Debra McCab e and fiancee, Nick Lesperance, all of Marinette, Mrs. Ron (Susan) Votav a of Peshtigo; a daughter-in-law, Patty Murphy of Marinette; a sister, Mr s. Eugene (Rae) Black of Sagola, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-g randchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Clarence Jr. "Chummy" ; and three brothers, L.J., Arthur and James. Grandchildren served as pa llbearers.
