OY A. CARVIOU
Joy A. Carviou, 52, of 10324 Diamond Road, Whitelaw, died peacefully Thursday evening, February 8, 2007, with her family and friends at her side following a courageous battle with cancer and kidney failure at Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County. Joy was born March 9, 1954, in Marinette, daughter of the late Donald and Florence "Tina" Francour Carviou.
She was a 1972 graduate of Mishicot High School. Joy worked for 31 years at Hamilton Mfg. of Two Rivers retiring in 2004 due to illness. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church. Joy loved to knit and to go out to breakfast and lunch with her friends.
Joy is survived by three sisters and one brother-in-law: Candy (Glenn) Vandenhouten of Two Rivers, Gail Carviou of Whitelaw, and Tracy Carviou of Whitelaw; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Dale (Doreen) Carviou of Mishicot, Thomas (Nancy) Carviou of Escanaba, Mich., and Ray (Theresa) Carviou of Whitelaw; her three Godchildren: Adam Vandenhouten, Andy Carviou and Hope Carviou; three of her special friends: Brenda Pribek, Cheryl Link and Karen Gerondale; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one niece.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2007, at ST. ANNE CATHOLIC CHURCH in Francis Creek. The Rev. Paul Paider will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the REINBOLD AND PFEFFER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME of Kellnersville, on Sunday, February 11, 2007, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Sr. Jean Herman will conduct a prayer service on Sunday evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bernice V. Carviou, 84, of N6617 Hwy 180, Marinette, passed away early Thursday morning, June 29 at her home. Born April 17, 1922 in Peshtigo, she was the daughter of the late LaGrange and Signe (Dahlin) Leslie.
A graduate of Niagara High School and Marinette County Normal School, she taught at several schools in Marinette County. She married Walter Carviou on Feb. 27, 1943 and the couple owned and operated the Carviou family farm and milk route in the Town of Porterfield. She was a member of the Porterfield Lutheran Church, Northwoods Quilters, Wisconsin Retired Educators Association and the Association for Retarded Citizens.
She is survived by her children, Mrs. James (Janet) Meyers of McAllister, Ronald (Mary) Carviou, Mrs. Stephen (Diane) Woods and Sherry Carviou, all of Marinette, Mrs. Donald (Bonnie) Gorshe of Larsen, Mrs. Timothy (Deborah) Lemery of Menominee, Mi., Mrs. Michael (Wanda) Brien of Lake Mills and Wendy Carviou of Appleton; a godson, Robert Biehl; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilbur (Jill) Leslie and two sisters, Joyce Shaffer and Mrs. Alvin (Janette) Perry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter on Sept. 29, 2005; a granddaughter, Leah Woods; a grandson, Christopher Woods; a great-grandson, Brody Durocher; a goddaughter, Gloria Adams, a brother, Leslie Leslie and seven sisters, Fern Leonard, Melva Biehl, Marvel Izzo, Neola Leslie, Viola Messina, Gloria Degenaer and Dorothy Barker.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Porterfield Lutheran Church. Rev. Nick Johannes officiated and burial was in Community Lutheran Cemetery, McAllister. Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home, Marinette served the family.
Ronald Walter Carviou

- Note: Ronald W. Carviou, 67, of Porterfield, passed away Thursday morning, November 3, 2011, at his home after a brief illness. He was born August 18, 1944, in Marinette to Walter and Bernice (Leslie) Carviou.
Ron resided in this area all of his life and was a graduate of Marinette High School. In 1965 he married the former Mary J. Wouters. He had been employed at Marinette Marine Corp., Giddings & Lewis Foundry in Menominee and retired from Aacer Flooring in Peshtigo. Ron was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and spending time with his sons. He also liked cutting wood as a hobby, camping and helping his family and friends with projects. He was a member of Porterfield Lutheran Church.
Ron is survived by his wife, Mary; three children: Steve (Vicki) Carviou of Porterfield, Sheila (Jeffrey) Durocher of Marinette and Ron (Aimee) Carviou of Porterfield; six grandchildren: Jacob, Jason, Joseph, Cheyenne, Jordan and Kyleigh; one great-granddaughter; seven sisters: Janet (Jim) Meyers of McAllister, Bonnie (Donald) Gorshe of Larsen, Wis., Debbie (Tim) Lemery of Menominee, Diane (Stephen) Woods of Marinette, Wanda (Michael) Brien of Lake Mills, Wis., Wendy Carviou of Menasha and Sherry Carviou of Marinette; two brothers-in-law: Dave (Patty) Wouters and Gary (Patti) Wouters; and his favorite family cat, "Mom" . He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Brody.
Friends may call at Porterfield Lutheran Church after 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday in the church with the Rev. James Wendt officiating.
Burial will be in Community Lutheran Cemetery, McAllister.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
