James F. Bayerl, 64, a Walsh resident, died Thursday, April 12, 2007, at home after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family. He was born in Menominee, Mich., March 15, 1943, to the late Joseph and Catherine Bayerl.
James married Linda Carviou October 2, 1971, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Walsh. The couple resided in Walsh where he was employed by the Marinette County Courthouse until retirement. He also served in the Army and was stationed in Germany. James enjoyed many special memories fishing at Eagle River with his wife, grandchildren and family along with many special family times.
James is survived by his wife, Linda; one son, Marty (Lisa) Bayerl of Marinette; one daughter, Tammy (Trent Lindsay) Bayerl of Appleton; two grandchildren: Bradley James and Brooke Lynn; three brothers: Carl (Janet) Bayerl and Peter (Jennifer) Bayerl both of Milwaukee, Robert Bayerl of Depere; two sisters: Marianne (Robert) Carviou of Walsh, and Joyce (Barry) Stepniak of Menominee, Mich.; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may call at the ST. JOSEPH'S CHURCH in Walsh, on Monday, April 16, 2007, from 3:30 p.m. until time of funeral at 6 p.m. The Rev. William Stengel will be officiating. The American Legion Post of Crivitz will have Military Rites at the church.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established.
The Bayerl family would like to thank the employees of Marinette County and Bay Area Medical Center with special thanks to Dr. Chakrabarti abd Dr. Mertens, the oncology staff, along with Unity Hospice especially Patti Wagner.

Kenneth W. Berman, 68, of 1054 Marinette Avenue, Marinette, passed away unexpectedly on Friday afternoon, April 13, 2007. He was born March 30, 1939, in Menominee, to the late Curtis Wendell Berman and Mildred (Carviou) Berman.
He spent his early years in Marinette, and was a graduate of Marinette High School, Class of 1958. After graduation, he entered the United States Air Force, serving his country for 12 years of active duty. Returning to this area, Ken began employment with Badger Paper Mills of Peshtigo in 1972. He retired with over thirty years at Badger.
Ken is survived by a very special companion, Barb Gorka of Menominee; two sons: Bruce (Annette) Berman of Marinette, and Christopher (Tracy) Berman of McAllister; six grandchildren: Heath Berman, Erika, Ashley and Shawn Berman, and Jennifer and Kristen Irwin; nine brothers and sisters: Mary (Howard) Lock of Peshtigo, Judy (Pierre) LeSage of Grafton, Wis., Howard (Debra) Berman of Iowa, Deanna (Dan) Meyers of Texas, Sue (Dan) LaPlant of Alaska, Richard (Marge) Berman, Steve (Sherry) Berman and Virginia (Jim) Belonga, all of Marinette, and John (Donna) Berman of Peshtigo; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at HANSEN-ONION-MARTELL FUNERAL HOME, Marinette, after 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday evening in the funeral home. Deacon Jerome Thetreau will officiate.
Burial with military honors will be in Riverside Cemetery, Peshtigo.
