    LONGTIME AREA RESIDENT DIES
    Howard Carivou, 74, of route 2, Marinette, died in St. Joseph-Lloyd Hospital Saurday following a short illness.
    He was born in Hurlery, Wis., on Jan 10, 1893, and moved with his parents to Menominee as a child. He farmed
    in Walsh, was a building contractor for several years, served as a feed dealer and a business agent for the
    Harmony Grange. Mr. Carivou married the former Elenor Walters on April 22, 1913. He was a member of Our
    Lady of Lourdes parish.
    Besides his wife, he is survived by seven sons, Vincent of Pembine, Henry, Lester, Walter, Kenneth, and Robert
    all of route 2, Marinette, and Donald of Francis Creek; two daughters, Mrs. Curtis Berman and Mrs. John N.
    Konyn of Marinette, a sister Mrs. Finnen Maloney, of Marinette, 51 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
    Friends may call at the McLain-Thielen-Langer funeral home today after 3 p.m. until Tuesday when services
    will be conducted in Our Lady of Lourdes church at 9 a.m. with Rev. Robert Hogan officiating. The parish rosary
    will be held this evening at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Walsh cemetery.

    Vincent F. Carviou, age 75, of Pembine, died Monday, June 19 1980 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. He
    was born in Walsh, Wisc. on Feb. 1, 1914. He lived in Pembine since 1952, having moved there from Dunbar and
    worked as a logger. He married Adeline Stepien in Walsh on Oct. 27, 1938. She survives along with 3 daughters,
    Jean Neumann, of Sheboygan, Sandra Micolichek, of Green Bay, Rita Rozmarynoski, of Denmark, Wisc., 5
    brothers, Lester, Walter, Kenneth, Robert of Walsh, and Donald of Francis Creek, 2 sisters, Mildred Berman, of
    Peshtigo, Mable Konyn, of Marinette, and 7 grandchildren. Two brothers, Raymond and Henry, preceded him in
    death.
    Funeral services are Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Morasky-Messar Funeral Home. The Rev. John McLaughlin
    officiating. Friend may call from 5 until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph's
    Cemetery, Walsh.

    Henry Carviou, 57, of R-2 Marinette, died Monday evening in University Hospital, Madison. Mr. Carviou was
    born Nov. 9, 1915 and spent his early life in Marinette. He entered the US Army on April 11, 1941 and served in
    World War II in Italy. He was discharged in Oct. of 1945 and worked in construction for five years before joining
    the Ansul Co., where he was employed until the time of his death. On June 5, 1943, he was married to Loretta
    Stepien in Camp Grover, Okla. She survives.
    Besides his widow he is survived by one son, Howard, at home; three daughters, Mrs Edward Bonack of
    Milwaukee, Miss Beverly and Miss Kathy Carviou of Green Bay; his mother, Mrs. Howard Carviou of Marinette;

    six brothers, Vincent Cariviou of Pembine, Lester, Kenneth, Walter and Robert Carviou of Marinette, and Donald
    Carviou of Whitelaw, Wis; two sisters, Mrs. Wendel Berman of Peshtigo and Mrs. John Conyn of Marinette.
    Friends may call at the Thielen Funeral home from 4 to 9 today. A wake service will be held at 7 p. m. Funeral
    services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church with the Rev. Robert Hogan officiating.
    Burial will be in St. Joseph's Church in Walsh. Pallbearers were Ted Gajewski, Donald Lund, John Konyn,
    Robert Pamperin, Dale and John Stepien.

    Lester J. Carviou, age 81, of Hwy.180, Marinette died Tuesday, May 25, 1999 at home. He was born on June
    25, 1917 in Porterfield to the late Eleanore (Walters) and Howard Carviou. He owned and operated a milk route
    and farmed until retiring in 1980. He married Dorothy Schultz on December 29, 1937. They have been happily
    married for 61 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Walsh.
    He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; 2 sons, James (Gladys) of Marinette and Edward (Linda) of Porterfield; 5
    daughters, Sally (John) Biehl of Porterfield, Linda (James) Bayerl of Porterfield, Rosemary Carviou of Marinette,
    Mary Carviou of Little Suamico and her special friend, Rick Babcock and Margie (Bill) Turner of Escondido,
    California; 3 brothers, Robert and Walter both of Marinette; and Donald of Whitelaw, Wisconsin; 2 sisters,
    Mabel Konyn of Marinette and Mildred Berman of Peshtigo; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren. He was
    preceded in death by his parents, Eleanore and Howard, 4 brothers, Vincent, Henry, Kenneth, Raymond and a
    granddaughter, Heidi.
    Friends may call on Thursday, May 27 at the Thielen Funeral Home form 4 p.m. until time of services at 7 p.m.

    Obituary Published Thursday, February 5, 2004 11:50:09 AM Central Time MILDRED E. BERMAN Mildred E. Berman, 84, died on Wednesday, February 4, 2004, at Rennes Health Center-East, where she was a resident. The former Mildred Carviou was born on November 7, 1919, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard (Elanore Walters) Carviou in Porterfield. On October 15, 1938, she married Curtis Wendell Berman at St. Joseph's Church in Walsh; he preceded her in death on August 15, 1988. Mildred was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by all who loved her. Mildred is survived by five sons: Kenneth, Howard (Debbie), Richard (Marge), Stephen (Sherry), and John (Donna); five daughters: Mary (Howard) Lock, Judy (Pierre) LeSage, Sue (Dan) LaPlant, Deanna (Dan) Meyers, and Virginia (Jim) Belonga; two brothers: Walter and Robert; one sister, Mabel Konyn; 28 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers: Vincent, Lester, Henry, Donald, Kenneth and Raymond. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2004, at ST. JOSEPH'S CHURCH, Walsh, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a funeral mass at 1 p.m. Father James Massart will be officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Peshtigo.     Funeral services for Donald R. Carviou, 80, formerly of Whitelaw, were held Tuesday, March 5 at St. Anne
    Catholic Church in Francis Creek. Rev. Theodore Hendricks officiated at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial was
    at the parish cemetery. Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home in Kellnersville served the family. He died
    Friday, March 1 at Rivers Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc.
    Born Sept. 13, 1921 in Porterfield to the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard (Eleanore Walters) Carviou, he served in
    the U.S. Army during World War II. He married the former Florence "Tina" Francour on May 1, 1943 at
    Stephenson, Mich. She preceded him in death on Feb. 27,1999. He worked as a welder for Manitowoc
    Shipbuilding, retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Kempen-Staudinger VFW Post
    7753 of Mishicot, Manitowoc County Fish & Game Association, and Maribel Sportsman Club.
    Survivors include three sons, Dale (Doreen) of Mishicot, Thomas (Nancy) of Escanaba, Ray (Theresa) of
    Whitelaw; four daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Candy) Vandenhouten of Two Rivers, Joy Carviou, Gail Carviou and
    Tracy Carviou, all of Whitelaw; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers and six sisters-inlaw,
    Walter (Bernice) Carviou, Robert (Mary Ann ) Carviou, Kate Carviou and Dorothy Carviou, all of

    Walter E. Carviou
    Walter E. Carviou, 82, of N6617 Highway 180, Marinette, passed away Thursday, Sept. 29 at Bay Area Medical Center. He was born April 10, 1923 in Porterfield to the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard (Eleanore Walters) Carviou, residing in the area all of his life.

    He married the former Mernice Leslie on Feb. 27, 1943 and for many years they owned the Carviou family farm in the Town of Porterfield, operating Elm Dairy Farm and a milk route. He retired from farming in 1980 and continued operating his milk route until 1985. An avid bowler, he was a 50 year member of the Twin City Bowling Association. He was also a member of Porterfield Lutheran Church and the A.R.C.

    He is survived by his wife; a son, Ronald (Mary) Carviou of Marinette; six daughters, Mrs. James (Janet) Meyers of McAllister, Mrs. Donald (Bonnie) Gorshe of Larsen, Mrs. Timothy (Deborah) Lemery of Menominee, Mrs. Stephen (Diane) Woods of Marinette, Mrs. Michael (Wanda) Brien of Lake Mills, Wendy Carviou of Appleton and Shery Carviou of Marinette; a godson; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Mary Ann) Carviou and a sister, Mabel Konyn.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, a grandson, a great-grandson, six brothers and one sister.

    Funeral services were held on Sunday, Oct. 2 at Porterfield Lutheran Church with the Rev. Nick Johannes officiating. Burial was in the Community Lutheran Cemetery, McAllister.

    Mabel A. Konyn, 81, of Marinette, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2007, at the Luther Home. She was born on April 20, 1925, in Walsh, to the late Howard and Eleanor (Walters) Carviou.
    Mabel was married to John N. Konyn on December 1, 1945, in Marinette. He died in November of 1979. She had worked for many years as the head cook at Little River Country Club until retiring in 1990. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Altar Society.
    Mabel is survived by a son, Daniel (Sharon) of Canton, Mich.; three daughters: Mary (John) Schmeling of Oconomowoc, Wis., Pat (Bruce) Mylener of Iron Mountain, Mich., and Karen (David) Kohrt of Menominee; a brother, Robert of Porterfield; seven grandchildren: Kristyn, Matthew, Rebecca, Eric, Craig, Anne, and Katie; and three great-grandchildren: Ashley, Grace and Ayden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John; six brothers, a sister; and a grandson, Jonathon.

    Kenneth G. Carviou, age 66, of N6086 LaPlant Road, Porterfield, died Tuesday March 29 1994 at Bay Area
    Medical Center. He was born in Porterfield on August 3, 1927. He attended local schools and worked at the
    Ansul Co. for 37 years, retiring in July of 1982. He had also farmed in the Porterfield area for many years. He
    was a member of St. Joseph Chuch in Walsh. He married the former Kathryn Skorusa on November 29, 1946 in
    Marinette.
    Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Roger (Brenda) and David (Laura) both of Marinette; two
    daughters, Audry (Lynn) Guseck and Barbara (Robert) Wickman, both of Porterfield; four brothers, Lester,
    Walter and Robert all of Marinette and Donald of Manitowoc, Wis.; two sisters, Mabel Konyn, Marinette,
    Mildred Berman, Peshtigo and seven grand children.

    Robert A. Carviou, 76, of Porterfield, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at Rennes Health Care Center East. He was born on January 9, 1933, to the late Howard and Eleanor (Walters) Carviou in Menominee.

    Robert was the last of nine Carviou children. He graduated from Marinette High School in 1951. He was married to Marianne Bayerl on July 26, 1958, at Epiphany Church in Menominee. He owned and operated the Carviou family farm for over fifty years and had also driven school bus for several years. Robert was an avid Packer fan; he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and woodworking. He loved spending time with his family. He was a member of SS Joseph & Edward Parish.

    Robert is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marianne; a son Mark (Dawn) Carviou of Marinette; five daughters: Colleen (Michael) Valencic of Gladstone, Julie (Jerry) Sauve of Marinette, Theresa (Dave) Boucher of Menominee, Sue (fiancé Tim) Carviou and Nancy (fiancé Brad) Larmay, both of Marinette; eleven grandchildren: Jacob, Courtney, Brad, Sarah, Rachel, Justin, Amber, Mitchell, Marley, Maya and Marcus; and one great-grandchild, Jordyn. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.

    Friends may call on Friday, January 23, 2009, at SS. Joseph & Edward Parish from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 5 p.m.

    Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

    Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family.

    A Mass of Christian Burial for Adeline Voelker, 85, Dunbar, was conducted Friday, March 14 at St. Margaret's
    Catholic Church in Pembine. Rev. Michael Betley officiated with burial in Memorial Gardens, Dunbar. Messar
    Funeral Home served the family. She died Tuesday, March 11 at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron
    Mountain.
    Born Jan. 26, 1918 in Hammond, Ind. to Mr. and Mrs. John (Nora Bernat) Stepien, she moved to Porterfield
    from Indiana where she married Vincent Carivou. The couple moved to Amberg and then to Dunbar. Her husband
    preceded her in death in 1989. She was employed as a cook and in housekeeping for the Wausaukee Club. She
    was a member of Green Acres Golf League and the Ladies Society of St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Pembine.
    On June 25, 1997 she married Harold Voelker, Sr. in Marinette.
    Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Jim (Jean) Neumann of Sheboygan, Mrs. Donald (Sandy)
    Micolichek of Green Bay, Mrs. Ron (Rita) Rozmarynoski of Denmark; seven grandchildren; one greatgrandchild;
    five brothers, Walter (Ann) and Lawrence (Donna) Stepien of Glencoe, Mn., George (Eleanor)
    Stepien of Merrill, John (Lorraine) and Dale (Sandy) Stepien of Pembine; six sisters, Stella Norton of Marinette,
    Loretta Carviou of Green Bay, Mrs. Don (Helen) Lund of Menominee, Mich., Mrs. Ted (Irene) Gajewski and
    Mrs. Rex (Eleanor) Fullerton of Green Bay, Mrs. Bob (Jean) Pamperin of Menomonee Falls; two stepsons,
    Harold Jr. (Susie) Voelker of Wallace, Mich., Randy (Georgina) Voelker of Stephenson, Mich.; one stepdaughter,
    Carol Allison of Sheboygan; five step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
