  • Note: Marvin Moderson, age 84, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016. Marv was born on December 22, 1931 to the late Albert and Katherine (Yankuskie) Moderson. He graduated from Clintonville High School in 1950. He married Shirley Godin on April 28, 1955 in Wittenberg, Wisconsin, and they spent 55 years together before she passed away on January 9, 2010. Marv and Shirley were members at St. Gabriel Parish in Neenah for many years.

    He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Corporal from 1952 to 1954 in Germany during the Korean War. Marv went on to work for Kimberly Clark for 40 years and was proud to be a union member and officer for 26 years. He started the Retirees Club and was the president for 8 years. Marv also was involved in the K.C. Quarter Century Club and started the Retirees Dinner for former employees for 16 years for the Kimberly Clark Lakeview Mill Complex. He enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers, playing dart ball, and helping people with medical and insurance needs.

    Marv is survived by his children: Dennis (Bobbie Jo) Moderson, Karl (Dee) Moderson, Sherry (David) Wall, and Mark Moderson; brother Donald Moderson; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley; sisters: Martha, Alice, and Beatrice; and brothers Oscar and Gordon.

    Visitation for Marv will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Avenue, Neenah from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral liturgy for Marv will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016 at St. Gabriel Parish, 900 Geiger Street, Neenah. An additional time of visitation will be held at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of the service.

    Marv's family would like to give a special thanks to his neighbors Kay and Gary Hobart, Aaron and Jenny Rebman, and Sue and John Maynard for all of their kindness. Additional thanks go to the wonderful staffs at Peabody Manor and ThedaCare Hospice for all of their compassionate care.

    Dick Byrne, age 64, of Appleton, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Dick was born on February 8, 1950, in Appleton to the late Edward and Alta (Pahl) Byrne. Dick attended Marquette University and received his JD degree from Marquette Law School in 1974. Following his graduation from Marquette Law School, Dick was a clerk for the State of Wisconsin Supreme Court. Dick then was employed at Secura Insurance for over 20 years, and then taught Business Law at Marian College until a few years ago. He was a longtime and active member of Red Cross. Dick was a Packer season ticket holder and enjoyed golfing. He loved reading, crossword puzzles, and his time at the family's Loon Lake cottage. Dick found mentoring the reading programs at middle schools especially satisfying. Above all, he enjoyed the time he spent with his beloved grandchildren.

    Survivors include his daughter, Maureen (Jeff) Rollman, and their children, Connor and Annika; his son, Kevin Byrne; his sister, Ann Kerscher (Mike Callewaert); his brothers, John (Debbie) Byrne and Jim Byrne; Mary Brooks, the mother of Maureen and Kevin; and Sue Bayer, his special friend.

    Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2014, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior Street, Appleton, with Deacon Don Wetzel officiating. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton.   • Note: Suzanne Louise Becher passed away on June 5, 2014. She fought a long 8-year battle with Wagners Disease. Suzanne was born on April 24, 1944, to the late Florian and Florence (Ellenbecker) Becher. After growing up in Greenville and graduating from Hortonville High School in 1962, she moved with her parents to Appleton in 1979. Suzanne worked for the Appleton YMCA for 16 years. She enjoyed the company of many friends while she resided at Oneida Heights.

    Suzanne is survived by a sister: Mary Ellen (Ed) Majewski, Mursfreeboro, TN and their sons: Stephen (Mara), Dunlap, TN, David (Rebecca), Wheaton, IL, and Michael (Tarry), Nashville, TN; brother: Jim (Judie) Becher and their children: Scott, McFarland, Keith, Chanhassen, MN, and Lisa (Kevin) Hansen, Appleton. Suzanne is further survived by a very special friend Ken Hofer and special girlfriends Kathleen, Janet and Sister Ann. She was preceded in death by her parents.

    A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 S. State Street, Appleton,with Fr. James Leary OFM Cap officiating. Friends may visit at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 am until the time of the service. Suzanne will be interred beside her parents at Highland Memorial Park.

    The family would like to thank the staff at Manor Care for the care they provided to Suzanne.
