In 1946, Sister Catherine Mary entered the Order of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. She is survived by three sisters-in-law, Mary Boucher, Lavern Boucher, Doris Boucher and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Chappelle and Florence Schumacher; five brothers, Robert, Walter, Wilfred, Alvin and Howard. This "Gentle Woman" will be missed by all.

    Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Catherine Mary Boucher, CSJ who passed away May 18 of pneumonia at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis, Mo. She was 86 years of age.

    Sister Catherine Mary was born on November 23, 1927, to parents Elmer and Catherine (Janssen) Boucher in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet on September 15, 1946, and made her final vows on August 15, 1952. She received a certificate in residential child care from Washington University in 1974.

    Sister Catherine Mary's life work was caring for the young. She began in 1949 at St. Joseph Indian School in Keshana, Wisconsin, as a cook's aid and in child care. In the early 1950s, sister worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Hancock, Michigan, and as a clerk at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City.

    Beginning in 1953, Sister Catherine Mary served the next 35 years as a childcare worker and houseparent first at St Joseph Girl's Home in Kansas City and then the next 30 years at St. Joseph's Home for Boys in St. Louis. She served as a staff member in 1988 at the Carondelet Day Care Center. She was also a teacher aide at St. Louis Cathedral Grade School until her retirement 1994.

    In 2005 Sister Catherine Mary moved to Nazareth Living Center where she continued ministering in prayer and witness.

    The funeral Mass for Sister Catherine Mary will be on Thursday, May 22 at Nazareth Living Center at 10:00 a.m.. She will be buried at Resurrection Cemetery.

  • Note: Edna A. Chappelle, age 98 of Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013. She was born on October 22, 1915, in Green Bay, daughter of the late Elmer and Katherine (Janssen) Boucher. Edna graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1933. On June 10, 1939, Edna was united in marriage to Roy Chappelle. He preceded her in death on January 17, 1990. For over 60 years, Edna was a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

    Edna is survived by a son, Chuck (Linda); a daughter, Jean (John) Sherman-Kalcik; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great great Grandchildren. She is further survived by three sisters-in-law, Mary Boucher, Lavern Boucher, Doris Boucher and a sister, Sr. Catherine Mary Boucher.

    Besides her parents and husband, Edna was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Jean Basche; a daughter-in-law, Helen Chappelle; a son-in-law, Jere Sherman; five brothers, Robert, Walter, Wilfred, Alvin and Howard; a sister, Florence Schumacher.

    Visitation for Edna will be held from 9:00 am on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1224 12th Avenue until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am with Fr. Ryan Krueger presiding. Burial will take place at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.

  • Note: Howard J. Boucher, 86, De Pere resident died peacefully on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. He was born in Green Bay on September 24, 1925, son of the late Elmer and Catherine (Janssen) Boucher. He is a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Green Bay. Howard served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army/Air Corps primarily on the Gold Coast of Africa.

    Howard married Doris Davis on May 8, 1948 at Annunciation Catholic Church, Green Bay. He was Sales Manager at MITCO Floor Covering and Brauman Paper Co. in their flooring division.

    He is a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, De Pere, an usher and a member of the Holy Name Society. Howard and his brothers, Will and Bob, owned a Christmas tree farm near Forestville. He enjoyed woodworking, flower gardening, reading and spending time on his wooded property on the Ahnapee River.

    Howard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris; three children: John (Donna) Boucher, Nancy (Mark) Gezella, and Ken (Cathy) Boucher; two grandsons: Mark Gezella II and Tony Gezella; brothers and sisters: Edna Chappelle, and Sr. Catherine Mary (Marion) Boucher, St. Louis, MO; sisters-in-law: Laverne Boucher and Mary Boucher. He is also missed by a special friend, Dave Spiering; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

    He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters: Walter Boucher, Wilfred (Zita) Boucher, Alvin Boucher, Robert Boucher, and Florence (John) Schumacher; and brother-in-law, Roy Chappelle.

    Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere, on Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Military Veteran’s Honors will follow the Mass. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Cotter Funeral Home & Cremation Services is assisting the family.   • Note: Mary Jane Bukowski, 85, Allouez resident, passed away early Thursday morning, May 29, 2014, at the Jack and Engrid Meng residence. She was born November 26, 1928 in Norrie, WI to the late August and Elizabeth (Buss) Vanderheyden. Mary Jane was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy. She married David Bukowski on November 21, 1959 at St. Matthews Catholic Church.

    Mary Jane was an avid traveler. She traveled throughout Europe and the United States. Mary Jane passed down her love of the outdoors to all six of her children. For many summers, Mary Jane and Dave would load up their station wagon and the family would embark on a camping adventure to a new destination. In retirement, Mary Jane and Dave continued their road trips to their favorite vacation spots.

    Mary Jane was also a talented seamstress. For over 60 years, she beautifully sewed, crocheted, and knitted items for her family and friends. Her handmade aprons, porcelain dolls, and exquisite crocheted ornaments were sold at Heritage Hill's General Store to travelers from all over the world.

    Mary Jane will be remembered as a spiritual woman who was truly devoted to God and her church. She was a kind and gentle person who would help anybody in need. Above all, Mary was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished each and every moment she spent with her family. Her love for each one of us was immense, and for that we will be forever grateful.

    Mom, we know that you will continue to be our shining light up in heaven. We will try to live our lives with the same strength and dignity, love and grace that you have shown all of us over your lifetime.

    She is survived by her husband, David, and their six children: Jane (David) Dvorak, Green Bay; Terry (Jeff), Milwaukee; Mary Weigman, Green Bay; Paula (Thomas) Dippold, Invergrove Heights, MN; David (Jill) and James (Lynn), all of Green Bay; 13 grandchildren: Alexander and Samuel Dvorak; Zachary and Madalyn Adams; Benjamin and Sarah Weigman; Katie and George Dippold; Emily and Michael Bukowski; Luke and Marshal Bukowski and Brandon; sister-in-law, Winnie Bukowski, Green Bay.

    She was preceded in death by one brother, William Vanderheyden; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stanley and Martha Bukowski; brother-in-law, Eugene Bukowski; sisters-in-law, Bernice Proft and Pearl Janus.

    Friends may call at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew St., Monday after 1:00 pm until time of mass. Funeral mass Monday, 4:00 pm at the church with Rev.
