  • Note: Barbara Ann Cotter, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Appleton Medical Center with her family by her side. On January 27, 1949, Barbara Ann was born in Sturgeon Bay to the late Leon and Ruth (Jury) Schallie Sr. She graduated from Neenah High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marines serving during Viet Nam. Barb was united in marriage to David Cotter on July 31, 1971 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Menasha. Barb enjoyed Stock Car Racing, trips to the Casino, watching old sitcoms, listening to the police scanners and following high school boys basketball. Barb had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing practical jokes on her family and friends. She loved being around people and talking on the phone to them. Barb especially loved her cat, Marie, who was her constant companion.

    Barb will be missed by her loving husband of 43 years, David; their daughter, Jennifer (Travis MacDonald) Cotter; her brother, Leon "Mike" (Bonnie) Schallie Jr.; her sister, Robin (Stephen Lust) Schallie; brothers-in-law: Robert Loch, Mike Cotter, and Steve (Donna) Cotter; sisters-in-law: Donna (Larry) Pagel and Diane (Brian) Melzer; nieces and nephews: Morgan, Beth, Mickey, Justin, Matt, Leah, Katie, Marie, and Jill; and other relatives and friends.

    In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her sister, Vicki Loch.

    A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 10, 2015, at Wichmann Funeral Home - Laemmrich Chapel with Fr. Jim Hablewitz officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Neenah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

  • Note: Elizabeth A. Blenke, age 90, of Kaukauna, passed away at her home on Friday, May 2, 2014. Betty was born on July 1, 1923 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. She married William Blenke Sr. on November 9, 1946, in Kaukauna. Betty was a devoted wife and mother, and also worked as a nurse at the Kaukauna Community Hospital for many years. After the hospital closed, Betty used her nursing experience to comfort and care for the ill and dying. She was an avid gardener and also volunteered for the hospital auxiliary. Betty and William were both long-time active members at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna.

    Survivors include her children: Michael (Diane) Blenke, Appleton; Patrick (Mary) Blenke, Racine, Timothy (Carol) Blenke, Town of Menasha, Margaret Blenke, of Kaukauna, Ella Blenke, of Little Chute; and William Blenke Jr., of Kaukauna. She is further survived by 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, William Blenke Sr.; siblings: George, Jack, Mary Catherine, Tom and Cornelius "Connie"; sister-in-law: Eleanor "Susie; and her great grandson, Jacob.

    The Funeral Liturgy for Betty will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at ST. KATHERINE DREXEL-ST. MARY SITE, 119 W. Seventh Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Visitation will be held at church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna. Online condolences may be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kaukauna Catholic School System.

    The family would like to extend a thank you to the doctors and staff at both Appleton Medical Center and ThedaCare at Home Hospice for the care given to Betty. Also, a thank you to Fr. Jerry Pastors for the frequent visits he made to Betty's home.

  • Note: William E. Blenke, Sr., 89, Kaukauna, passed away at his home on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010. Bill was born on May 24, 1920, in Chicago, Ill., to the late August C. W. and Ella Engelcke. He married Elizabeth "Betty" on Nov. 9, 1946, in Kaukauna. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II as a B-17 navigator based in England. He continued his career with the government as a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office for over 23 years, retiring in 1984. Bill was also well-known for being a television repairman.
    Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Betty; his children, Michael (Diane) Blenke, Appleton; Patrick (Mary) Blenke, Racine, Timothy (Carol) Blenke, Town of Menasha, Margaret Blenke, of Kaukauna, Ella Blenke, of Little Chute; and William, Blenke, Jr. of Kaukauna. He is further survived by nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Elanore "Susie" (Charles) Mason; and his great-grandson, Jacob.
    The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at ST. KATHERINE DREXEL-ST. MARY SITE, 119 W. Seventh Street, Kaukauna. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna. A memorial has been established in his name to benefit St. Jude Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
