  • Note: Norman C. Georgia, 89, a lifelong Green Bay resident, died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 17, 1924, to Otto and Edna (Smits) Georgia. Norman married Eleanor R. Kleczewski May 25, 1946, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Hofa Park.

    Norman worked in the warehousing and trucking industries before his retirement in 1989. He enjoyed playing cards, dartball, bowling, scrabble, dancing with his beloved wife, attending family gatherings, and watching the Packer and Brewer games. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary of the Angels Parish.

    Norman is survived by his caring and faithful wife of 67 years, Eleanor; four children, Gary, Gloria, Duane (Karla), and Mark (Brenda) Georgia; his grandchildren, Matthew (Jamie) Georgia, Jaclyn (Andrew) Voigt, Kayla Peterson, Nicole (Josh) Vogel, Jessica Georgia, Emma Georgia, Daniel (Julie) Loggins; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, a sister and their spouses, Donald and Elaine Georgia, Marilyn and Richard DeKeyser, Alton and Nancy Georgia; sisters-in-law, Agatha Georgia, Frances Short, Irene Jarek, Florence Baranczyk; many nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Edna Georgia; his father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Leo and Mary Kleczewski; two sisters, a brother and their spouses, Dorothy and Raymond Stroobants, Eleanor and Walter Edges, Earl Georgia; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John Short, Raymond Jarek, Steven Baranczyk; Angeline and Vernon Lhotte, Martha and Robert Demeny, Anton and Julia Kleczewski.

    Friends may call from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. There will be a parish wake service at 3 p.m. Sunday. Friends may also call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, 645 S. Irwin. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church with Father Patrick Gawrylewski OFM officiating. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.   • Note: Gary N. Georgia, 69, died peacefully on Thursday, July 20, 2017, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 24, 1948, to Norman and Eleanor (Kleczewski) Georgia in Green Bay, where he was a lifelong resident. Gary was a starting defensive lineman on the undefeated football team for Green Bay East High School from which he graduated in 1966. He owned and operated American Transfer & Storage for many years and was employed in the transport business with Calco Express and Graebel Van Lines.

    Gary was a generous person with a great sense of humor and was always the life of the party. He loved spending time with his family, especially the children. He enjoyed watching Packers and Brewers games and in his earlier years he enjoyed fishing, bowling and bingo.

    Gary will be deeply missed by his mother, Eleanor; a sister, Gloria Georgia; 2 brothers, Duane (Karla) and Mark (Brenda) Georgia; Judi Kaye; Daniel (Julie) Loggins; nieces and nephews, Matthew (Jamie) Georgia, Jaclyn (Andrew) Voigt, Kayla (John) Zimdars, Nicole (Josh) Vogel, Jessica Georgia and Emma Georgia; great nieces and nephews and many other relatives.

    He was preceded in death by his father Norman Georgia.

    Visitation will be held at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, 645 S. Irwin Ave., from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Tuesday, July 25, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Church with Rev. Robert Rhyner officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.Prokowall.com.

  • Burial: He was buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery, DePere, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Ralph W. Smet 77, of De Pere passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning April 2, 2014. He was born July 23, 1936 in De Pere to the late Robert and Henrietta (Verboort) Smet. On February 11, 1961 he was united in marriage to Darlein "Dar" Andre at St. Boniface Catholic Church in De Pere. Ralph is a U.S. veteran having served his country in the Marines. In 2001 he retired from Tec Systems. Ralph loved to plan and navigate car trips throughout the country, and has been coast to coast and corner to corner. He also liked woodworking, lawn work, bicycle rides with Dar, card games with his little group of neighbors and his grandchildren's extracurricular activities. Sunday Dinners with the family were very important to Ralph. Ralph was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, and Knights of Columbus Council #3955.

    He is survived by his wife Dar, their children; Todd (Julie) Smet, Michael (Patricia) Smet, and Patrick (Diane) Smet. Ralph's nine grandchildren, Ashley, Noah, Adam, Zachary, Justin, Nicole, Jennah, Trevor, and Ryan survive, as well as his siblings; Fr. Leroy Smet, Daniel (Karen) Smet, Dorothy (Tom) Scott, Steven (Lynn) Smet, his sister in law Caroline Smet, Dar's family and numerous nieces and nephews all survive him.

    Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Gerald and John.

    Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Ave. and Suburban Drive, De Pere after 9am Wednesday April 9, 2014. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am with Fr. Tim Shillcox O.Praem officiating burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Full military rites will follow the Mass. Dar and the boys would like to thank all of the Doctors and nurses that have assisted Ralph to make this journey a little lighter. Special thanks to Donna who was there throughout the many difficult times.
