    Funeral services were held for Matt Blick of Chicago at St. Mary church Monday morning. Mr. Blick is a former resident of here. The Rev. J.J. Esdepsky conducted the services and burial took place in the parish cemetery. Bearers were De. M. E. Monroe, Arnold Stephani, Peter and John Kitzinger, William Le Captaine and Jerome Bruckner.     Matt Blick, 57, former resident of Black Creek died Thrusday morning at his home in Chicago after a long illness. Mr. Blick left Black Creek about 30 years ago. Survivors are one son, James; one daughter, Margaret, Chicago; and 11 brothers and sisters. Michael, Mrs. Charles Fisher and Mrs. G. F. Kronschnabel, Appleton; Frank and Nick of Black Creek; Mrs. William Stern, New London, Anna and Mrs. Edward Wiltgen, Chicago; Jake of Gig Harbor, Wash.; Albert and John of Port Washington. The body was brought to the Frank Blick home in Black Creek. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary church in Black Creek Monday morning, with burial in St. Mary cemetery.

    MRS. ANNA BLICK
    A solemn requiem high mass for Mrs. Anna Blick, 78, of 2426 W. Atkinson Ave., Milwaukee, a former Ozaukee County resident, was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Port Washington. Fathers Jerome Lanser and Peter J. Hildebrand officiated and internment was at St. Mary's Cemetery.
    Mrs. Blick, nee Lanser, was born in the town of Port Washington on May 28, 1880, and was married to John Blick at Port Washington on July 3, 1917. They settled in Port Washington where he was employed as a carpenter and later at The Wisconsin Chair Co., until his retirement. He died Aug. 13, 1949.
    Mrs. Blick died of a lingering illness and several strokes at 10 p.m., July 4 at the Twin Manor Convalescent Home, Milwaukee. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Mary) Chwalek of Milwaukee; one grandchild and two brothers, John and George Lanser, both of Port Washington.

    Born March 18, 1873 in Chicago, he lived in Appleton and New London before moving to Green Bay in 1949. He married the late Anna Blick McGraw, who preceded him in death.
    Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Therese Catholic Church, Appleton. The cortege will form at 8:30 at the Brettschneider Funeral Home, where friends may call after 7:30 p.m. today. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Black Creek. The rosary will be recited at 8:15 p.m.

  • Note: Mary A. Brehm, 90, of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Brewster Village. Mary was born on December 3, 1922 to Charles and Christina (Messmer) Schaefer in Catholic Church and together they owned and operated the Antigo Dairy Queen. Mary was well-known and respected for her artistic accomplishments. Her talent to create intricate hand and needle work was well known. Many of Mary's accomplishments are exhibited around the country. She was a loving wife and mother, devoted to her family and touched many lives. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

    Mary is survived by five children; Qathryn (Margaret Pittman) Brehm of Los Angeles; Michael (Michelle) Brehm of Appleton; Betty (Tom) Parish of Medina; Anna (Lars) Anderson of Appleton; and Patty (Chris) Heinz of Appleton; grandchildren; Samantha (Eric) Fritz; Michelle Brehm; Kaylen (Andy) Nickols; Jay (Brooke) Parish; Christina (Jeff) Seidner; Eric (Melissa) Anderson; Courtney (Justin) Anderson-Vincent; and Benjamin (Sarah) Strassman; and Jack Heinz; great grandchildren; Abigail, Maggie, Lauren, Charles, Samantha, Lily, Sophia, Liberty, Dylan, Nolan, Raegan, Jonah, Levi, Daemon Lars, and Griffin, a sister, Barbara Van Eperen, and a sister-in-law, Lillian Brehm, a friend, Karen Rosenhoover, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Mary was preceded in death by her husband Joseph and two sons; George Brehm and Joseph F. Brehm and her brothers and sisters.

    The funeral liturgy for Mary will be held on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 10:30 AM at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence St. with Fr. Jim Leary, OFM.CAP officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St and on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of the mass at the Church. Inurnment will be in the St. Edward Cemetery in Mackville.
