  • Note: Tom F. Hutjens, 35, De Pere, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at a local hospital after an eleven year battle with Muscular Dystrophy. He was born August 31, 1977 to Louie and Patti (Gossen) Hutjens.

    Tom bravely faced the challenges of each and every day. He was honored to have worked as herd manager for Dave and Jerry Stencil at Stencil Farms. They allowed him to work until he decided he could no longer do the job. We are forever grateful to their families.

    Tom looked forward to and made every effort to attend Saturday night mass and then would go out to eat with family and friends. Uncle Bill made him laugh with his stories.

    Tom is survived by his parents, Louie and Patti Hutjens; his brothers: Eric (Chris) Hutjens; Kevin (Rebecca) Hutjens, maternal grandmother Catherine Gossen; uncles and aunts: Jim and Patty Gossen, Denis and Kay Gossen, Anne and Hardy Brooks, Al and Diane Gossen, Lee and Brenda Gossen, Carol and Bob Muehrcke, Bill Hutjens, Sally and Lee Mancoske, and Sandy and Dave Heezen. Tom loved spending time with his nieces and nephews: Alex and Ryan Hutjens; Hannah, Connor and Kassidy Hutjens. They brought joy and excitement to Tom's simple life. Further survived by special friends: Larry and Arlene Pennings, Dennis and Linda Pennings, and; cousins, neighbors and friends.

    Tom is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Alice (Janssen) Hutjens; maternal grandfather, Francis J Gossen; Uncle Tommy Hutjens.

    Family and friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportmans Drive, Ledgeview, on Friday, September 28, 2012 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, at church with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed to Tom's family at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.

    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or Unity Hospice.

    The family would like to extend special heartfelt thanks to Uncle Denis, Aunt Brenda and John B, his caregivers who helped so much in his care and companionship. The family would also like to thank St. Vincent ER, IMCU fourth floor, all the hospital staff, and to Unity Hospice for the encouragement and support you gave to make Tom's last days comfortable for him and for your support to the family.

Dolores Hermann

  • Birth: Dolores Hermann was born on March 22, 1930 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co, Wisconsin.
  • Marriage: She was married in 1951.
  • Death: She died on September 26, 2012, at age 82.
  • Note: Dolores Thielke 82, Suring, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Sept. 26, 2012, after a three year struggle with cancer.

    She was born, in Milwaukee, on March 22, 1930, to the late William and Florence (DeCleene) Hermann. She graduated from Cosmetology Beauty School with her beautician license, a trade she practiced until 1951, when she married Leo Thielke in Coleman.

    In 1968, she started working for the U. S. Postal Service, and became the Cecil Postmaster in 1971, a position she held until retiring in 1991.

    She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, where for many years she decorated the church for Christmas.

    Dolores loved the outdoors, whether it was growing flowers or mowing the lawn. She enjoyed flower arranging, sewing, cooking and was famous for the many wedding cakes she made. Dolores and Leo enjoyed many fishing dates; along with spending winter days building bird houses. She also had a passion for lighthouses. What she enjoyed the most was getting together with her family; it could be for fish fries or the always anticipated, "Hermann Family Reunion," which has been a yearly occasion for 25 plus years.

    Survivors include her husband, of 61 years, Leo; their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Ruth (Ron) Bucheger, children, James and Nicholas (Oakhurst, CA); Jerry (Yvonne) Thielke, (Jackson); children, Jessica Thielke (Campbellsport); Jarvis (Jamie) Thielke, daughter, Skyler (Dallas, TX); Jim (Kathy) Thielke (Little Chute); Joe (Sharri) Thielke, children, Jake, Jared and Jensen (Conway, AR); Jo Ann (Tom) Usiak, (Stiles) children, Andy (Alina) Shallow, son, Drew (Rockford, IL); Amanda Shallow (Green Bay); Sue (Rich) Loberger, daughter, Sonya (Green Bay).

    She is further survived by siblings, Millie Thielke (Menomonee Falls); Bill (Lois) Hermann (Milwaukee); Dan (Katie) Hermann (Milwaukee); Lois Peterson (Kenosha); Helen (Don) Macht (Muskego); Bernie (Joe) Palama (Franksville); Phil (Diane) Hermann (Pewaukee) and many nieces and nephews.

    Visitation will be held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues on Saturday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Suring, officiated by Fr.
