  • Birth: Kyle Thomas VanAsten was born on May 25, 1986.
  • Death: He died on September 21, 2012, at age 26.
  • Note: Kyle Van Asten, 26, Pulaski, passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 21, 2012. The son of Timothy and Jane (Greenwood) Van Asten was born May 25, 1986, and was a 2004 graduate of Pulaski High School. He attended UWGB and NWTC, graduating with HVAC certification in 2009.

    Early on, he worked for many years as a lifeguard and WSI swim instructor at the Pulaski Pool. Later, he worked at Van Asten Contracting (the family business) and other HVAC companies. Most recently, Kyle worked for a landscaping firm. He loved the outdoors, especially his backyard and the family cottage. Kyle grew up learning to fish and hunt with his father, grandpa, uncles and cousins. He was sensitive, smart, and loving.

    Kyle is survived by his parents, Timothy and Jane (Greenwood) Van Asten, Pulaski; great aunt, Jean Greenwood, Sun Prairie; Aunt Peggy (Eric) Wasson, Georgia; Aunt Mary Greenwood, Green Bay; Grandpa Greg and Grandma Janet Van Asten, Krakow; Aunt Tina (Al) Wagner, Suamico; Uncles Tony (Faye) Van Asten, Suamico; Brian (Diane) Van Asten, Pulaski; Greg (Julie) Van Asten, Krakow; his "odder mother" Cheryl Cartier, Suamico; and his forever mud brother, Samuel Feller, Suamico. He is further survived by his cousins, Kory (Jeanie), Nick (Katie), Forrest (Carolyn), Elizabeth, Kimberly, Chelsea, Simon, Megan and Benjamin Van Asten, Paul (Beth), Matt (Jill), Steve, Nancy, and Christy Greenwood, and other relatives and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, uncle Patrick Van Asten and uncles, John, Wayne, and Bill Greenwood.

    Friends may call at Suamico United Methodist Church, 3266 Lakeview Dr. Suamico, at 11:00 am Saturday. The Funeral Service will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Saturday at the church, Rev. Deanna Merritt officiating.

  • Death: He died on January 10, 2017, at age 51.
  • Burial: He was buried in St Mary Cemetery, Appleton, Outagamie Co, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Scott C. Watkins
    51, Kimberly, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 at his home. He was born April 13, 1965 to Floyd and Barb (Brautigan) Watkins in Appleton. Scott graduated from Appleton East High School in 1983. He enjoyed playing football in high school and later coaching. On September 21, 1990 he married the Love of His Life, Lisa M Bartman at St. Mary Catholic Church in Appleton. They were blessed with five children. He was a proud father and loved to spend time with his grandchildren; whom he was affectionately known as Grandpa Bam Bam.
    Scott lived with a lot of pain stemming from a car accident, but you would have never known it. He was always a kind and generous man who could and would talk to anyone, anywhere. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, fishing, golfing, singing and was a War aficionado. Scott enjoyed working at the Appleton YMCA in the Aquatics Dept.
    He will be greatly missed by his wife, Lisa; 5 children: Jennifer (Joe) Wall; John (Christy) Watkins; Ryan (Rachele) Watkins; Spencer (Helena) Watkins and Melanie (William) Spruill; grandchildren: Blake and Andie Wall; Ryker and Rayne Watkins; Moises Watkins; Skyler Spruill and a baby girl Watkins coming at the end of the month; his parents: Floyd and Barb Watkins; mother and father in-law: Mona and Thomas Bartman; two brothers: Floyd Watkins and Patrick (Barb) Miller; a sister Candy Miller-Rusch.
    Scott was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Thomas Bartman.
    A Memorial Mass for Scott will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. James Leary O.F.M. officiating. Friends may visit the family on Friday evening at Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral chapel from 4 – 7 PM with a prayer service to begin at 7 and directly at church on Saturday from 9 – 11 am. Interment will take place in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton.
    A special thank you to Scott’s good friend Craig for always being there for Scott.
