    Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. Ralph Steffensmeier officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery at Cedar Rapids.

    Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Levander Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, with a 7:30 wake service.

    Mrs. Dobson was born on April 3, 1917, on the family farm north of Cedar Rapids to Frank M. and Elizabeth Gertrude (Boos) Theewen.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry James Dobson.

    Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter-in-law, Carroll and Dianne Dobson of Spring, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy Ann and Garry Smith of Grand Island; and a sister, Esther Dahlke of Tucson, Ariz.

    Also surviving are four grandchildren, Scott Cuba and his wife, Christine, Shirly Zeek and her husband, Paul, Donna Farley and her husband, Mike, and Stan Cuba; six great-grandchildren, Kirstin, Haley, Wesley, Tiffany, Sandy and Robin; and three great-great-grandchildren, Bradley, Julie and Lillie; along with many other relatives and friends.

    She was baptized and confirmed at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Thelma attended school at Boone County School District 14 to the third grade, then St. Anthony's until the 11th grade, when it closed. She then graduated from Cedar Rapids High School in 1934. In 1937, Thelma graduated from Grand Island Beauty School. She opened her shop in downtown Cedar Rapids.

    On June 26, 1939, Thelma was united in marriage to Harry James Dobson at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. The couple lived in Cedar Rapids, where Thelma ran a beauty shop out of her home until 1999, when Linda Primus took over for her.

    Thelma was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, along with the Altar Society and the choir. She also played in card clubs and was a past community club member. Thelma enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Another pastime she enjoyed was fishing.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Frances Mahoney; one daughter-in-law, Gloria; one nephew, Dan Mahoney; and one son-in-law David Cuba.

    He Died from Paralysis on Sunday Afternoon, October 21.

    Theodore Aerts, well liked and respected resident of Butler county and David City for many years, died at 1:20 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Oct. 21, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Peter Vanderheiden, in North David City, where he had made his home for some time. He passed away after illness of three days following a stroke of paralysis.

    Funeral services were held in St. Mary's Catholic church, David City, at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, conducted by Rev. Father Sproll and Rev. Father Eckler. The pallbearers were Jacob Beringer, E. J. Dworak, George Hilger, Herman Markas, Mike Medinger and Henry Smith. Burial was in the Center Catholic cemetery, by side of the graves of his wife and son.

    Mr. Aerts was aged 75 years, 6 months and 14 days at time of death. He was born in Horst, Holland, on April 9, 1853. He came to the United States when 19 years of age, and lived for four years in Green Bay, Wis., where he was married to Marie Heesen October 2, 1877.

    After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Aerts came to Nebraska and Butler county, locating in Center township, where Mr. Aerts bought land. They lived on the farm until moving to David City 18 years ago.

    Five children, two daughters and three sons, were born to Mr. and Mrs. Aerts. One son, Martin, died 18 years ago. The surviving children are Mrs. Frank Herb and Leo Aerts of Banks, Ore., and Mrs. Peter Vanderheiden and Frank Aerts of David City. Mrs. Aerts passed away on November 29, 1925.

    Mr. Aerts will be missed by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances, for he was of a very jovial, unassuming and happy disposition, always having a cheery greeting for all he met and greatly enjoying being down town among his associates. He was kindly and hospitable, and his greatest interest was in the welfare of his family.

    THEODORE AERTS PASSES ON

    Theodore Aerts passed away at 1:20 Sunday, October 21, 1928, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Pete Vanderheiden, in this city. Mr. Aerts became seriously ill while uptown Friday, suffering a stroke of paralysis. He regained consciousness before he passed away very quietly with the family at his bedside.

    Theodore Aerts was born on April 9, 1853, at Horst, Holland, and passed away at the ripe old age of 75 years, 6 months and 12 days. At the age of 19 years, he came to the United States and lived at Green Bay, Wis., for four years.

    On October 2, 1877, he was united in marriage to Marie Heesen at Green Bay, Wis., and they immediately set out for Nebraska settling on a 80 acre farm which they purchased. They made Center township their home until they retired from actual farm labor eighteen years ago.

    To this union were born five children. Martin passed away about eighteen years ago. The surviving children are Mrs. Frank Herb and Leo Aerts, of Banks, Oregon, and Mrs. Peter Vanderheiden and Frank Aerts, of David City.

    Mr. Aerts was preceded to the grave by his wife who passed away on November 29, 1925.

    On their farm in the early days they lived in a sod house which they erected. They farmed with an ox team and went through all the hardships of an early day into a new century.

    Mr. Aerts was a member of St. Mary's church of this city and a faithful worshiper in the Catholic belief. He was a great reader and a man of sturdy and honest character.

    Funeral services were held at 9:30 Wednesday morning from St. Mary's Catholic church, Father Sproll, assisted by Father Eckler, conducting the last rites.

    Pall bearers were Henry Smith, Ed. Dworak, Herman Markus, George Hilger, Jacob Beringer and Mike Medinger.

    Interment took place in the Center cemetery beside the remains of his wife and son.

    The only children here for the funeral were Mrs. Vanderheiden and Frank Aerts. Mrs. Herb was unable to come, having lost her husband less than two weeks previous to her father's passing. Mr. Leo Aerts was detained due to the serious condition of his wife.

    DEATH OF MRS. THEO. AERTS.

    She Passed Away Saturday, Nov. 28, from Heart Trouble.

    At 7 a. m. Saturday, Nov. 28, Mrs. Theodore Aerts, respected resident of David City, passed away at her home in North David City from heart trouble, with which she had suffered for two years. She was nearly 73 years of age.

    Mrs. Aerts' maiden name was Mary Hassen. She was born in Holland January 25, 1853. After coming to the United States she was united in marriage to Theodore Aerts at Green Bay, Wis., on October 2, 1877. They then came to Nebraska and Butler county and resided on their farm in Center township until moving to David City in March, 1910.

    Surviving Mrs. Aerts are her husband and four children, Mrs. F. H. Herb of Banks, Ore., Mrs. Peter Vanderheiden of David City, Frank Aerts of Center township and Leo Aerts of Bank, Ore. One son, Martin Aerts, preceded his mother in death. Mrs. Aerts also leaves one brother, Henry Hassen, living in Salem, Ore.

    Rev. Bernard Sproll had charge of the funeral services, which were held in St. Mary's Catholic church, David City, on Tuesday morning, Dec. 1. Theodore Brochtrup, Barney Eiting, Herman Ficke, John Hein, John Lanspa and Herman Markus were pallbearers. Burial was in St. Francis cemetery, Center township.

    Mrs. Herb and Leo Aerts came from Banks, Ore., several days prior to their mother's death and were present at the funeral.

    Mrs. Aerts was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church and of the Altar society.

    She was a woman whose life was filled with kindly deeds.

    PASSING OF MRS. THEODORE AERTS

    Sunday morning of NOvember 29 marked the passing of Mrs. Theodore Aerts at her home in north David City. Mrs. Aerts was a great sufferer of heart trouble and had been in failing health for the past two years, being bedfast only two days prior to her death.

    Deceased was born on Jan. 25, 1853 in Sevenum, Holland and when but eighteen years of age came to this country with her parents.

    On October 2nd 1877 she was united in marriage to Theodore Aerts in Greenbay, Wisconsin, coming directly to Center Township where they settled on a farm they made their home for many years. Some 16 years ago they moved to town where they spent their retiring days.

    To Mr. and Mrs. Aerts were born five children four of whom are living: Mrs. Frank Herb and Leo G. Aerts of Banks, Oregon, Mrs. Peter Vanderheiden and Frank Aerts of this City. Martin Aerts a son died fifteen years ago.

    Beside the children the deceased leaves a devoted husband who was at her side until the last also one brother Henry Heesen of Salem, Oregon.

    The children were present at the death of their mother.

    Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 9 o'clock from the St. Marys Catholic church where Mrs. Aerts had always been a staunch member and believer.

    Father Kramer said mass and Father Sproll preached the funeral services.

    Burial took place in the Center Cemetery with Father O'Sullivan performing the burial services.

    Acting pall bearers were: John Lanspa, Barney Eiting, John Hein, Theodore Brocktrup, Herman Ficke and Herman Marcus.
