  • Note: Clarence H. Daebler, age 88 of Navarino, passed peacefully into the loving arms of the Lord, Thursday, July 19, 2012 at his daughter & son in-law's home in Appleton. He was born December 24th, 1923 in Fond du lac, WI to the late Herman and Helena (Pranke) Daebler. As a child he was always known as Candy.

    He joined the Conservation Corp at the age of 17. He was drafted at the age of 20. He served his basic training at Joseph T. Robinson in Little Rock, Arkansas. He served in the Infantry Third Division and Demolition team. He served over in Africa and Italy from 1941-1944 as a private 2nd Class. Medals that he earned in the Army: The Purple Heart, Good Conduct medal, The European African - Middle Eastern Theatre. He was also awarded the Wounded Duck. He was a member of the Bonduel VFW Post 10622 & Disabled American Veterans Shawano, American Legion Post Bonduel.

    After being discharged from the army he started his career in truck driving for the FWD Clintonville and for John Hennes trucking, Appleton for 35 years. Clarence owned and operated a dairy farm in Bear Creek for over 10 years, then moving to the Navarino area and farmed. After his retirement he had his own businesses, Daebler Trucking and Daebler Amusements which he enjoyed very much.

    Clarence married Sylvia Johnson in 1951 with whom he had 3 children Steven, Karen, & Dean. In 1976 He married Bonita Hanus in 1976 and they had their son Jason. Clarence & Bonita were married for 35 years. Together with Bonnie they operated Bonnie's Silver Dollar, Clintonville.

    Clarence's children and grandchildren were a source of great joy and pride to him. He shared his pride of being a Veteran with his Granddaughter Angelica who followed in his footsteps to become a Soldier. He loved the game of baseball with his Grandchildren Marleigh & Gussy and eating wings with Cole. His Great Granddaughter's Kamara , Makayla & Eamillia were a daily adventure for him & them every day for the past year. His Granddaughter Kristina whom was so gentle & kind & caring for him this past year but also shares his sense of humor. Grandson Tom whom they share their green thumbs together, we are glad that someone has inherited that talent from Grandpa. Grandpa's love of animals shared by Nicholas & Anika. His Grandson's Rick & Ron love for adventure & fun.

    Clarence is preceded in death by his wife Bonita. Sisters: Lenora Lane, Brothers: Herbert, Roland, Sylvester, Harvey and Randy Daebler .

    Clarence is survived by his children: Steven (Joy) Navarino, Karen (Jerry) Rickert, Appleton, Dean (Tammy) Daebler, Navaino, Jason (Danielle) Daebler Shawano. Grand children: Richard (Whitney), Thomas (Heather), Ronald Marquette. Angelica (Geoff), Kristina, Chad, Troy, Kyle & Jessica Rickert. Nicholas & Anika Daebler. Cole, Marleigh & Christian Daebler. Great Grandchildren: Kendra, Elisha, Emma, A.J., Wyatt, Gretchen, Kamara, Marabai, and Makayla & Eamillia. Great-great Granddaughter Morie. Step Children: Karen Huben, Gillett, Kenneth Dethardt, Gillett, Gerald (Martha) Dethardt Clintonville. Step grand children: James (Kristy), Nichole (Justin) & Austin. Step Great Grandchildren: Dameon, Jaxson, Bree, Mason. Sisters: Mable Raddant, Schila Laux , Sisters- in-law Donna Daebler & Judy(Champ) Vander Heyden, Irene Borree and Jane Johnson. As well as extended family and friends.

    He enjoyed his family, thousand's of friends, pool playing, horseshoes, ice cream, Navarino Days Parade where he was a 2012 Parade Grand Marshall , gardening, the Milwaukee Brewers, Navarino Rangers, his mini car collection, his fish, and most of all his dog Molly. Clarence enjoyed the Old Glory Honor Flight to Washington D.C. June 1st, 2010 and was featured in one of John Maino's books called ETO.

    Clarence will be remembered for generosity he shared with all, his kindness, his love to have a good time and always" catch him one on me" at Bear's, Mary Lou's & Sportsman's.

    Friends may call at Ascension Lutheran Church, Navarino on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 3 PM until services at 5 PM with Pastor Jon Paquette officiating. Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Military honors will be held following the service at the church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com.

    Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home in Seymour is assisting the family with arrangements.

    In lieu of flowers a memorial fund in honor of our father will be established.

    A special Thank you to: Pastor Jon, Heartland Hospice staff Barbie, Tanya, Janna, & Sister Ruth. Also to The St. Paul's Club Gabrielle and his respite nurse DuAnn for the excellent care and comfort provided to Clarence. They took such good care of our Dad and helped us as much as they could to bear the sadness of this loss. To the Veterans Facilities & Staff in Appleton & Milwaukee. Also his granddaughters Kristina and Angelica for all their compassionate loving care in his final days. And most of all thank you to each and every person who shared in our Father's Life, he will be missed by all. So let us all raise our glass to him and say "Cheers Clarence to you a good man".
