  • Note: Peter Wilberscheid, 1704 Indiana avenue, passed away Sunday at the age of 63 years, nine months and 12 days. He was born Feb. 12, 1887, in Eden township, Manitowoc county, and on Aug. 26, 1913, was married to Miss Bertha Casper at Johnsburg WI, by Rev. Fr. I. Leubner. After their marriage the couple lived on a farm in Calumet county. For the past seven years he was employed at the Armour Leather company tannery in this city. He was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Peter Claver church and a member of the Badger State Recreation club.
    Survivors are the widow; five children, Mrs. Joseph (Dorothy) Ausavich, Mrs. Harold (Marie) Disotell and Mrs. Melvin (Lucile) Meyer of this city; Miss Ruth and Jerome Wilberscheid at home: one grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Peter Voigt of Chilton, and three brothers, Jack, of Racine, Mathew, who lives in Kansas, and Benjamin, of Valders. A daughter, Loraine, died in 1925.
    Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a. m. Wednesday at the Ramm funeral home and at 9 a. m. at St. Peter Clever church with interment in Calvary cemetery. Rev. Fr. C. J. Hausner will officiate.
    The body may be viewed at the funeral home from 7 o'clock tonight until the time of services.

    Mr Casper was a member of St John the Baptist Catholic Church at Johnsburg and Holy Name Society.
    Survivors include his wife, a son, Walter of Route 1, Malone, a daughter, Mrs Edward (Esther) Pitzen of Route 1, Malone, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Roman (Margaret) Petrie of Route 1, St Cloud. A son, five brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:l5 a.m. Monday at Huss Funeral Home, St Cloud, and at 11 a.m. at St John the Baptist Church, Johnsburg. Rev. Robert Bier will officiate, and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
    Friends of Mr. Casper may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

    Walter was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg, N9288 County W Fond du Lac, WI (Johnsburg). Rev. Joseph Coerber will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

    On Sept. 7, 1937, he married Margaret Holtzmann at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg. She preceded him in death on Jan. 23, 1982. On Dec 28, 1982 he married Mildred Verhage at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in new Holstein. She preceded him in death on March 23, 1998.
    Claude attended grade school in Marytown. He was employed for 38 years at the Kolher Company. He retired in 1974. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and the Kolher Company Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.
    Survivors are three sons, Claude Jr. (Marge), Oostburg; Kenneth (Sherrie), Reedsville and Ronald (Peggy), New Holstein; four daughters, Shirley (Bill) Rolloff, Las Vegas, Nev.; Martina (Art) Abler, Wittenburg; Mary Lou (Herb) Wissbroecker, New Holstein and Betty (Tom) Reese, new Holstein; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; five brothers, Syl Halbach, New Holstein; Edmund ( Bernie) Halbach, Kiel; Jim Halbach, Fond Du Lac; Howard Halbach, Sheboygan; and Vincent(Marie)Halbach, Johnsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, first and second wife, one brother, Robert; one son Roman and one great-great granddaughter.

    Survivors include her husband, Herb of New Holstein; three sisters, Shirley Rolloff of Las Vegas, NV, Martina Abler of Wittenberg and Betty (Tom) Reese of New Holstein; three brothers, Claude Jr. ( Marge) Halbach of Oostburg, Kenneth (Sherrie) Halbach of Reedsville and Ronald (Peggy) Halbach of New Holstein; her Mother-in-law, Agnes Walentowski of Pelican Lake; four sisters-in-law, Arlene Pribbernow of New Holstein, Joanne (Gary_) Lucia of New Holstein, June Wissbroecker of New Berlin and Bonnie (Bill) Zelechowski of West Allis; three brother-in-law, Ervin (Elyn) Wissbroecker of Oakfield, Harvey (Loretta) Wissbroecker of New Holstein, and Joe (Marilyn) Wissbroecker of Sheboygan Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

    Survivors include her husband three stepsons, Claude Jr. and his wife Marge of Oostburg, Kenneth and his wife Sherry of Reedsville, and Ronald and his wife Peggy of New Holstein four step-daughters, Shirley and her Husband Bill of Las Vegas, NV, Martina Abler and her husband Art of Wittenberg, Mary Lou Wissbroecker and her husband Herb, and Betty Reese and her husband Tom all of New Holstein: 21 step grandchildren; 38 step great-grandchildren; one sister Marian Schirmer of New Holstein; two brothers, Willard Verhage and his wife Leora, and Clarence Verhage and his wife Shirley, all of Sheboygan Falls; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Verhage of Sheboygan Falls; and 19 nieces and nephews.
    Preceding her in death were two brothers, Lawrence and Richard Verhage; and one step great-granddaughter.
    Services: Funeral Mass was held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in new Holstein. The Rev. Frank Weber officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Edmund M Halbach

    He was born July 30, 1920, in Marytown, son of the late Vincent and Martina Casper Halbach. He attended St. Mary's Grade School in Marytown.

    Edmund served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II being involved in the Normandy Invasion. He recently received the Purple Heart and numerous other World War II medals.

    On Oct. 20, 1956, Edmund married Bernadine Watry at St. Ann Catholic Church, St. Anna.

    He owned and operated the Halbach Mink Ranch in Marytown until 1993, when he retired. The couple moved to Kiel in 1996.

    Edmund was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Marytown; the New Holstein American Legion, Post 124; the Marytown Veterans Organization; and the Marytown Athletic Club, where he served as president for over 20 years.

    He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and playing checkers with his grandchildren.

    Survivors include his wife, Bernadine of Kiel; five children, Sandra (Paul) Merten of St. Cloud, Janice (Steven) Sabel of Johnsburg, Donna (Ken) Immel of Johnsburg, Marlene Steiner and friend Jeff Feyen of Fond du Lac, and Joseph (Jennifer) Halbach of Marytown; and 10 grandchildren, Bobbi Jo, Scott and Emily Merten, John and Michael Sabel, Jason and Craig Immel, Joshua, Jessica and Jacob Halbach. He is further survived by four brothers, Sylvester Halbach, James (Kathy) Halbach, Howard (Joanne) Halbach and Vincent (Marie) Halbach; seven sisters-in-law; and four brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Claude and Robert; five sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and one grandson, Christopher Sabel.

    Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 23, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Marytown, with the Rev. Joseph Coerber officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.

    Friends may call at the Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 Sixth St., Kiel, on Thursday, April 22, from 4 until 8 p.m. and at the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. when brief family rites will take place.

    A wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

    Mrs. Petrie was a member of St. Joseph's Church at St. Joe and Christian Mothers Society.

    Survivors include her husband; three sons, Francis of Glenbeulah, Sylvester of St. Joe and Jerome of Rochester, Minn.; four daughters, Miss Mary Petrie of Rochester, Minn., Mrs. Wilfred (Beatrice) Kind of Mazomanie, Mrs. Harold (Lillian) Schneider of R. 4, and Mrs. Melvin (Cleopha) Gau of Fond du Lac; 30 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Six brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.

    Fuenral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Huss Funeral Home, St. Cloud, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, St. Joe. The Rev. Joel Tueller will officiate, and burial will be in the parish cemetery.

    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Huss Funeral Home, St. Cloud, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, St. Joe. The Rev. Joel Tueller will officiate, and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
