  • Note: Fink, Lawrence "Larry"

Lawrence H. Fink, 63, Green Bay, passed away peacefully at a local hospital surrounded by family on Saturday, January 7, 2017. He was born on February 23, 1953 in Green Bay, to the late Henry J. Fink and Irma (Tornow) Fink. He grew up in Green Bay, and was a 1971 graduate of West High School. He attended UW-Madison.

He had two beautiful daughters with his former wife Susan (Mertens) Fink. He met the love of his life, Judy Fontaine, in 1997 at a singles dance. They continued to dance together over the last twenty years.

He started his career at Bay Drafting as a Consulting Designer and worked at Wisconsin Public Service. He then began his long career in the Paper Industry, working as a licensed electrical engineer at James River. During his retirement, he worked at Bertrand's Sporting Goods, Denis Sporting Goods and Stadium Bike. He truly enjoyed sharing his knowledge of shooting sports, canoeing, skiing and biking. He enjoyed biking long distances on the Mountain Bay Trail, and biked on almost every trail in Wisconsin with Judy. He was an avid boater and enjoyed family vacations at Peninsula State Park and several ports of call in Michigan. He was the Commodore of the Green Bay Boating Club. Larry enjoyed winter sports and would snowshoe and cross country ski with Judy at Barkhausen Wildlife Preserve.

He enjoyed volunteering and teaching others hunter safety and boating safety. He taught many boaters in Green Bay for 30+ years as a DNR Boating Safety Instructor. He was an avid supporter of the US Olympic Shooting Team and a lifetime member of the NRA.

He was on trap shooting teams with co-workers from James River and then later in life with his two sons-in-law, Jesse and Steve. He was a great marksman and had plaques to show for it.

Larry was extremely proud of his daughters, Christine and Carolyn, and his grandson, Jack. Larry would frequently have pictures of his daughters and their accomplishments to share with others. He never passed up the opportunity to talk about his daughters. He would call them his personal Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner.

He enjoyed playing foosball and fixing things with his best buddy, Wayne Hoffman. He valued his friendship with Wayne.

He is survived by the love of his life, Judy Fontaine; his two daughters, Christine (Jesse) Lamberg and Carolyn (Steve) Seidl; one grandson, John "Jack" Seidl; two sisters, Marilyn (Ken) Rabideau and Helen (Terence) Ladwig; one brother-in-law, Federico Vargas; many nieces and nephews.
