Biography

  • Birth: Alton Boettcher was born on July 31, 1928 in Appleton, Outagamie Co, Wisconsin.
  • Death: He died on October 2, 2012, at age 84, in Appleton, Outagamie Co, Wisconsin.
  • Burial: He was buried in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton, Outagamie Co, Wisconsin.
  • Note: 84, Appleton, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born July 31, 1928 in Appleton to the late Edwin and Alta (Baldock) Boettcher. He married Dorothy Brouillard and she preceded him in death. Al worked at American Can which later became James River Paper Mill. He later married Eleanor Kearn Krause and she preceded him in death in 1978. Al loved nature and the outdoors especially hunting fishing and camping. He was also known as the Turtle Dundee for his catching turtles and making turtle soup. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and willingness to lend a hand to anyone.

    He is survived by his four daughters: Nona (Michael) Jozwiak, Karrie (Harry) Torbeck, Leonore (Brian) Bongert and Audra (Louis) Martinaitis; a step daughter, Patti Wisneski; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Virginia Berg, brother, Donald Boettcher and sisters-in-law: Edith Kearn, Carol (Jerry) Young and Marion Dietrich; brothers-in-law: Gordy (Joyce) Kearn, Robert (Joan) Kearn and Bill (Marlene) Kearn. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

    Al was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; father and mother-in-law: William and Ella Kearn; sisters-in-law: Bernice (Clarence) Hostettler, Geraldine (Rodger) Heling, Dorothy (Bob) Moon, Mildred (Bob) Boushley and Ione Reffke; brothers-in-law: Kenneth, Clyde, Donald Kearn and Gerald Dietrich.

    Funeral services for Al will be held at 10 am Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at Star of Hope Chapel in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may visit the family Wed. (Tonight) from 5 - 7 pm at the funeral chapel and Thursday at the Cemetery from 9 am until the time of service.

June was born on June 26, 1924, in Appleton to the late Elmer and Ellen (Kimball) Luedtke Sr. She married Robert Lokken in 1954, sharing 22 years together until his death in 1976. In her past working years, she was employed at Zwickers Knitting Mill. She then enjoyed being an assistant to Podiatrists Dr. Jessie Smith and Dr. Lee Klauk until her retirement in 1986. June resided at Oneida Heights for many years and cherished the lasting friendship of Dorothy Hartford. With her failing health, she was moved to Appleton Health Care Center. June was a charter member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. In her younger years at the church, she served as Sunday School Superintendent.

    She will be sadly missed by her two brothers: Elmer (Karen) Luedtke Jr., Appleton, and Carlton (Carroll) Luedtke, Lakewood, CO; 5 sisters: Patricia (Richard) Worden, Appleton, Lola (Mory) Vanden Wyngaard, Kimberly, Mary Brouillard, Appleton, Helen (Eddie) Prey, Plover, and Sandra (Joe) Wentworth, Manawa. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

    June was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; five brothers: Robert, Victor, Jack, Donald, and Francis; four sisters: Elizabeth Sackett, Martha Pompa-Kuhn, Geane Litcher, and Carrie Mannagan.

    A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kurtiss Hoffman officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral chapel from 11 a.m. Sunday until the time of service. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.

    The family would like to express a special thank you to the kindness shown by all the staff at Appleton Health Care Center - especially Damon.
