  • Note: Marie J. Moore, 89, Green Bay, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at a local care facility. She was born on July 6, 1922, in Green Bay, to the late Joseph and Johanna (Vanden Heuvel) Servais. Marie graduated from Green Bay West High School. She married Clifford Moore in 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1967.

    Marie worked at Fort Howard and at Chase Bank (formerly Marine Bank) as a bookkeeper until her retirement. She was a member at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. In her younger years, she enjoyed going to her and Clifford's cottage at Chute Pond and also the family cottage in Dyckesville.

    She is survived by her siblings, Luella Schreader, Kewaunee; Robert (Marjorie) Servais, Green Bay; Bernice Nitka, Green Bay; Elaine Gezella, Green Bay; sister-in-law, Evelyn Moore; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Hilton Schreader, Henry Nitka, Chester Gezella and Harvey Moore.

    Friends may call at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria St., on Monday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. David Pleier officiating. Burial in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

    In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established.

  • Note: Luella Schreader, age 99 of Town of Montpelier died on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Atrium of Kewaunee Nursing Home with her family at her side. She was born on May 23, 1918 in Green Bay to the late Joseph and Johanna (Vanden Huevel) Servais.

    She married Hilton Schreader Sr. On November 19, 1938 and he preceded her in death on December 22, 1977.

    Luella worked for many years at Leyse Aluminum Co. In Kewaunee and Mirro Aluminum Co. in Two Rivers.

    She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph/St. John's Chruch in Pilsen, now St. Therese Parish and a member of the St. Joseph/St. John's Altar Rosary Society, She was a member of the Polish American Legion Auxiliary of Eaton and the V.F.W. Auxillary of Bellevue for over thirty years.

    She did volunteer work at the Brown County Mental Health facility until she was 97 years old.

    Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law: William and Brenda Schreader, Jacksonville, FL; Hilton Schreader, Montpelier; four daughters and three sons-in-law: Judy and Marvin Sr. Dorn, Luxemburg; Gloria and Earl Peterson, Algoma; Margaret Theys, Green Bay; Suzanne and Kevin Geimer, Pound, WI; twenty-one grandchildren; forty-three great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; one sister: Elaine Gezella, Green Bay and one sister-in-law: Marge Servais, Green Bay. She was preceded in death by one son: Robert Schreader; one infant daughter, Mary; two sister: Marie (Clifford) Moore; Bernice (Henry) Nitka; one brother: Robert Servais; one granddaughter and two great grandchildren.

    Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 17 at St. Joseph/St. John Church at Pilsen until the time of services. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Fr. Dennis Drury, assisted by Christal Wavrunek. Burial, following the funeral lunch, will be in St. John's Cemetery at Krok.

    Robert (Red) Anton Servais, 95 (of Green Bay, WI) passed away on March 1, 2016. Robert was born on June 17, 1920 in Green Bay, WI to Joseph and Josephine Servais. The family farm was located on Ridge Road and he attended West High School and graduated in 1938. He graduated from St. Norbert, with a Chemistry degree in 1948.

    Red joined the Army Air Corp (AAC) January 12, 1942 and took pilot training at Randolph Air Base in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated, Class of 42X, as a 2nd Lieutenant in the AAC. After graduation he remained at the training center for 1 year as an advanced training instructor. Later he flew in the China, Burma, India theater. Red completed 79 tours of duty flying from India to China over the Himalaya Mountains, called the HUMP. He received numerous medals, including the Air Medal and an award from the Chinese Air Force. He received a set of pilot wings and a personal/professional achievement medal from General Chin Hsing-Ling, commander and chief of the Chinese Air Force. He remained in the US Air Force Reserves for a total of 27 years and retired as a Lt. Colonel (February 1969).

    Red married Marjorie Amenson his junior year of college on November 28, 1946.

    He spent 36 years with Swift Agricultural Chemical Division as a territory manager in northern Wisconsin and UP of Michigan. He retired from Swift in February 1984.

    Red was an active member of Nativity of our Lord Church, ushering for over 40 years. He was a charter member of the Senior Optimist Club, as well as a member of the Military Officer Association, VFW, Paul's Pantry, Moose Club and the St Norbert's Golden Nights.

    Red enjoyed a good game of sheepshead and a good manhattan with family and friends. He enjoyed downhill skiing and fishing with his kids and nephews. He organized many entertaining trips on Lake Michigan fishing for trout and salmon and house boat trips to the boundary waters and on the Mississippi.

    In addition to his wife, Marjorie, of 70 years, Robert is survived by his children, Michael R Servais (Michelle) of Green Bay, Robert A Servais (Kelly) of Wrightstown and Jeffrey J Servais (Terri) of New Berlin; grandchildren, Stephanie Servais, Michelle Servais, Carlie Servais, Lindsay Servais, Maxwell Servais, Eli Servais, Hunter Servais and Sadie Servais; his sisters Elaine Gazella and Luella Schroeder.

    He is preceded in death by his daughters Linda Servais and Susan Servais; his parents; his sisters Bernice (Henry) Nitka, Marie (Clifford) Moore; in-laws Chester Gazella, Hilton Schroeder, Don and Betty Amenson, Florence and Theodore Haverkorn, Arleen and Edward Jonet, Doris and Clifford Lampereur.

    Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016, at Nativity of our Lord Parish, 2270 South Oneida Street, Green Bay, WI from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Friday at 1:00 pm with Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Burial will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park.     Red's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of St Mary's Hospital (5th Floor) and the staff of Grand Care Rehab Center for the great care he received. They would also like to thank their neighbors for all of their help and support given during Bob's illness.

  • Note: Lorraine Bernice (Servais) Nitka, 89, Green Bay, passed away Monday, December 2, 2013, at a local hospital. She was born June 28, 1924, to the late Joseph and Johanna (Van Den Heuvel) Servais in Green Bay. On June 1, 1946, she married Henry D. "Hank" Nitka who preceded her in death in 1995. Over the years, Bernice worked on the family farm, at the shipyards in Sturgeon Bay then at Fort Howard Paper Mill. When the family moved to Bellevue, she was a bartender and waitress at Charneski's Diamond Inn until she retired. She was a member of the Bellevue Snow Diamonds, the VFW Axillary Post #9677, and belonged to Prince of Peace Church. For over 31 years, she volunteered at the Brown County Mental Health Center.

    Lorraine enjoyed having breakfast and playing sheephead games with her siblings. Some of her favorite things were the family get-togethers for the holidays and family reunions. She had a vast nun collection. Her hands were always busy (even sleeping in her chair she never missed a stitch) knitting and making hats and scarves for the newborns at the hospital. She was always anxious to get her football numbers for Sunday's game and she always won. On Fridays, she would wait for the family to stop over for a little lunch, a beer or two, great conversation- but before they were going to leave, they would have to have a Manhattan that she loved.

    Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Joe , James and Shirley, Dave and Terry, Randy and Mary; one daughter, Donna Gust; nine grandchildren, Tammy, Wayne(Tammy), Ryan, J.J., Jimmy, Nitka, Sharon (Frank) Eagen, Shannon (Joash) Smits, Jim (Jenna) and Carl (Beth) Thyes; 10 great-grandchildren, Larry and Evan Nitka, Anthony Eagen, Brianna and Gabriella Smits, Aubrey, Whitney, Taylor, Riley and Ricky Thyes; two sisters, Luella Schreader, Elaine Gezella; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Robert and Marge Servais and Shirley Nitka; cousins; nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; father and mother- in- law, Stanley and Clara Nitka; two daughters-in-law, Bev Nitka, Kathy Nitka; a son-in-law, Don Gust; a grandson, Chad Smits; a sister, Marie Moore; five brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Clifford Moore,Chester Gezella, Hilton Schreader, John Nitka, Hubert and Marion Theys.

    Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 6, at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. A V.F.W. Auxiliary Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. that evening and at 7 p.m . Fr.
