She was born on July 4, 1934 in Racine, WI a daughter of Henry and Beulah (Fritchen) Zeihen. She married Donald Blink in 1957, the couple later divorced.



    She was a graduate of St. Mary's Springs High School and received a Bachelors Degree from St. Norbert College. She was a Medical Technologist at the Medical Building here in Antigo for a number of years. She then moved to Appleton to be closer to her family.



    She served on St. Hyacinth Grade School's board of education and was active as a volunteer for the Red Cross, the Antigo Music Association and was a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Brownie Leader.

    She enjoyed gardening and prized her roses above all others. She also passed time with crocheting, needle work, painting and golf.



    Survivors include a daughter, Julie (Patrick) Brady of St. Charles, IL; three sons, Jeffrey Blink of Green Bay, Brian (Laurie) Blink of Antigo, and David Blink of Little Chute; seven grandchildren, Andrew and Thomas Blink, Janie Blink, Maeve, Kelly, Patrick and Grace Brady; two sisters, Jeanne (Bob) Pfister of Kaukauna and Mary (Ray) Walls of Pagosa Springs, CO; and a brother - Richard (Susan) Ziehen of Darboy.



    She was preceded in death by her son, Joel Blink and her brother in infancy, Thomas Zeihen.



    A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:30 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 - 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

  • Note: Muriel O. Blink passed away on February 19, 2013, at Orchard Hills Assisted Living, Eau Claire, at the age of 100. She was born in Manawa on November 18, 1912, daughter of the late Homer and Lydia (Manthe) Baldwin. She graduated from Little Wolf High School in Manawa with the class of 1930. She was asked to be prom queen both her junior and senior years of school. On June 13, 1933 she married Donald (Buck) Blink in New London. Donald passed away in 1987.

    Muriel and Donald lived in Oshkosh where they raised their family and later moved to Appleton where Donald's business was located. They were the founders of Tri-County Distributing in Appleton and they were in business over 45 years.

    Muriel and Donald enjoyed their cottages in Minocqua and Mercer. They traveled to Alaska and Hawaii and Mexico. Muriel caught a Marlin on their deep sea fishing venture in Mexico. They wintered in Texas, Arizona and Florida over the years. Muriel was active in Christian Mothers at St. Vincent's Parish in Oshkosh, volunteered at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Appleton, delivered meals on wheels in Mercer and enjoyed the Mercer Senior Center. She also enjoyed growing flowers, playing cards, word search, going to the casino where she would occasionally win big. She also crocheted many afghans for her extended family.

    She is survived by her children: Donald (Christie) Blink, Eau Claire; Jerome (Joyce) Blink, Bradenton, FL; Sandra Krueger, De Pere; Roger (Bonnie) Blink, Winneconne; grandchildren: Jeffrey Blink, Green Bay; Brian (Laurie) Blink, Antigo; David Blink, Little Chute; Julie (Patrick) Brady, St. Charles, IL; Benjamin Blink, Washington D.C.; Teri (Rod) Parsons, Weston; Tracy (Dan) Fabry, Chapin, SC; Lisa Blink and special friend Rick Baeseman, Edgar; Todd (Brenda) Blink, Green Bay; step-grandchildren: Adam (Sony) Ahrens, Oshkosh; Tim (Casey) Ahrens, Winneconne; 18 great-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren; sisters: Marian Kroll, Eagle River; Justine Emnott, Sheboygan; sisters-in-law: Elsie Baldwin, Richland Center; Claire Baldwin, Bradenton Beach, FL; Lila Blink, Virginia; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Muriel was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Donald, grandson Joel Blink, son-in-law Donald C. Krueger, brothers Earl (Loretta) Baldwin, Victor Baldwin, Robert Baldwin; sisters Ethel Baldwin, Audrey (Frank) Peluso, Ruth (Robert) Ross; brothers-in-law Frank Kroll and Jack Emnott. Sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary (Erie) Krull, Mable (Walter) Plamann, Earl (Mildred) Blink, Glen (Eleanor) Blink, Leo (Evelyn) Blink, Walter Blink, Paul Blink, Wilber Blink, Ralph Blink, Adrian Blink and LeRoy Blink.

    The funeral service for Muriel will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at noon at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa with Fr. Paul Vanden Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery in the Town of Little Wolf. A visitation for Muriel will be held directly at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

    In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

    Age 86, passed away Friday morning at the Riverside Hospital, Waupaca, after a short illness. He was born October 18, 1881, in Grays Lake, Illinois, and resided in the Waupaca County area most of his life. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Donald (Muriel) Blink, Appleton; Mrs. Frank (Marion) Kroll, Green Bay; Mrs. Frank (Audrey) Peluso, Milwaukee; Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Ross, Jr., Oshkosh; Mrs. Jack (Faye) Emnott, Sheboygan; three sons, Earl, Big Falls; Victor, Richland Center, Robert, New London; one half-brother, Willard, Symco; 25 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home, Manawa, with the Rev. Deloyd Huenink officiating. Burial was in the Little Wolf Cemetery.

    Mrs. Lydia Baldwin, 350 N. Bridge St., age 91, died unexpectedly Saturday in Manawa from an apparent heart attack. She was born July 12, 1889 in Sheboygan. She married Homer Baldwin, May 19, 1908 in Waukegan, Illinois. Mrs. Baldwin had lived in the Manawa area since 1902.

    Survivors include five daughters: Mrs. Donald (Muriel) Blink, Appleton; Mrs. Frank (Marian) Kroll, Green Bay; Mrs. Frank (Audrey) Peluso, Milwaukee; Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Ross, Oshkosh; and Mrs. Jack (Fay) Emmott, Sheboygan; three sons; Earl, Big Falls; Victor, Richland Center; and Robert, New London; a sister, Mrs. Rae Roman, Neenah; 25 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Ethel.

    The funeral was held Tuesday at the Cline, Hanson, Dahlke Funeral Home, Manawa, with the Rev. Barry Shaw officiating. Interment took place in Little Wolf Cemetery, Manawa.

    In the death of Oscar Baldwin at his farm home at Symco, Jan. 30, that village lost one of its hardy pioneers who came from Sheboygan county to town of Union, with his parents in 1856, when a lad of only six summers.
    The funeral was held Thursday, Feb. 2, at the Methodist church at Symco, Rev. F.W. Wright, officiating. Interment was in Symco cemetery.
    Besides the widow, four sons and two daughters are left to honor his memory. They are Homer of Manawa, Joseph of Symco, Willard of Symco, Earl Baldwin, Appleton; Mrs. Clarence Wooley of Gurnee, Ill.; Mrs. George Caldwell of Maple Heights, Ohio; one brother, Byron Baldwin of Symco, two sisters, Mrs. Helen Beach of Symco and Mrs. Captola Kretchmer of Little River; sixteen grandchildren, and many other relatives survive this sturdy pioneer and honored citizen. Asa Beach of this city is a nephew of deceased, and went to attend the last rites.
