  • Note: Ronald J. Novitski, 60, Glenmore, passed away unexpectedly on Monday evening, Sept. 26, 2011. He was born Aug. 15, 1951, in Green Bay, son of the late Chester and Lorraine (Van Duyse) Novitski.

    On Nov. 27, 1969, Ron and Sally B. (Puyleart) were married at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, Green Bay. He owned and operated Ron's Small Engine Repair, in addition to jobs as a machinist and maintenance and groundskeeper. Ron was a very active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Glenmore, participating on the Parish Council, leading church maintenance, and serving as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother and neighbor. A real jack-of-all-trades, he was always there when needed. He will be remembered for his love of the hop-step polka, fixing and tinkering, recycling and re-use, gardening, and getting down on the floor to play with his grandchildren.

    Ron is survived by his wife, Sally; five children, Cory (Dawn) Novitski, Kristie (Sumit) Nagpal, Connie (Erik) Anderson, Charles (Amanda) Novitski, and Cheri Novitski (Joel); his 12 grandchildren, Brandon, Alexandria, Samantha, and Kyler, Aveen and Niharika, Molly and Grant, Dariann, Angelina, Emma, and Jaxson; his 11 brothers and sisters, Gloria Jadin (Rueben), Rose (Greg) Jordan, Arthur Novitski, Bonnie Byng (Darrell), Sally (Ted) Coenen, Steve (Polly) Novitski, Debbie (Jeff) Pionek, Laurie (Dennis) DeKeyser, Lisa (Mike) Oudenhoven, Terry (Glen) VanderKinter, Amy (Tim) Ertman; two sisters-in-law, Donna Guyette and Kathy (Rod) Brosig; brother-in-law, Dennis (Gloria) Puyleart; many nieces and nephews, and their children.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Lorraine Novitski; brothers, Daniel and Michael Novitski; nephew, Jason Novitski; father-in-law, Raymond Puyleart; sister-in-law, Linda Jensen; and brother-in-law, Gary Guyette.

    Relatives and friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, on Thursday, Sept. 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Glenmore, 5840 Big Apple Rd., De Pere, on Friday Sept. 30, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Friday at 11 a.m., with Fr. Ron Colombo officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
