He was survived by his wife; 2 daughters: Mrs. L. M. Forster of Green Bay and mrs. Clem Sigle of Black Creek; 5 step-daughters: Mrs. William Letter and Mrs. Christ Hazen of DePere, Mrs. Nels Nelson of Navarino, Mrs. Merl Allen of Shiocton, Mrs. Arthur Larson of Palace Park, IL; 4 sons, Jake, Gregory, Isadore, and Albert all of Black Creek; 3 step-sons, Gerald Gomm of Chicago, Ervin Gomm of Manitowoc, and Raymond Gomm of Shiocton; 55 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

    Age 80, died on Sunday, December 16, 2001 at Colony Oaks Care Center. Eleanor was born on July 15, 1921 in Leona, WI, daughter of the late William and Etta (Pope) Krueger. On August 19, 1944 she married Richard Gahr in Oshkosh, and they enjoyed over 57 years of marriage, until he preceded her in death on December 12, 1999. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton.

    Eleanor will be greatly missed by her son, Tom Gahr and special friend Katy Theys, Green Bay;

    6 grandchildren, Brad and Trisha Nutting; Tina (Tim) Bennett; Scott (Kay) and Jeff (Anne) Gahr; Heather VandeVoort and special friend Tony Thurber and his son Brandon;
    and 5 great-grandchildren, Kimberly and Allison Nutting; Kamden and Logan Gahr; and Rece Bennett.

    She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tarry Nutting;
    her brother, Harold Krueger;
    and 2 brothers-in-law, David Gahr and Duncan McRae.

    The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, December 20, 2001 at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, 912 North Oneida Street, Appleton, with Rev. Larry Matthews officiating. Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery. Friends will be received at the church on Thursday, December 20 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family wishes to express their special thanks to William and Jean Overesch, Sandy Jacobson, Cookie Krueger, Colony Oaks Nursing Home and many of her special bingo friends, for all their help and support.

    ` Where have you gone since yesterday and left me lonely here? Today you seem so far away when yesterday you were so near. No map of mine that I may use, your journey I can`t trace. I only know you`ve reached your home and seen my father and sisters face.`

  • Note: Tarry Ann Nutting Age 54, passed away after a couragous battle with cancer on Oct 8, 1999, at Franciscan Care Center. Tarry was born on Feb 18, 1945, the daughter of Richard and Eleanor (Krueger) Gahr. Tarry was a member of Our Saviour`s Lutheran Church in Appleton. She enjoyed bowling, going to the casino, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.

    Tarry is survived by two daughters, Tina (Tim) Bennett and Trisha Nutting;
    a son, Brad (Tracy ) Nutting, all of Appleton;
    two grand-daughters, Kimberly and Alison;
    her parents, Richard and Eleanor Gahr of Appleton;
    a brother Tom Gahr of Green Bay.

    She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

    Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct 11, 1999 at 11 a.m. at Our Saviors Church, 3009 North Meade Street, Appleton, with the Rev. Dennis Ellisen officiating. Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday fromm 9 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund is being established. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Julie Ives and Jim Quick of hospice, the staff at St Elizabeth Hospital, Franciscan Care Center, AAL Credit Union, Cindy Reischl, her special friends, Brenda Kobs, Jan Friedwald, Judy Smith, Barb Schwaller, Molly Derricks, Cathy Gitter, Patty Bennett and all other family and friends for their support through her illness.

    We thank God for the time we were able to have with you grandma. We have shared many special times of laughter and love. We will miss your gentle kisses and cheerful smiles. We send all our love. You will be in our hearts forever. Love Kimberly and Alison. Sis, We went through some hard times and great times together. One of the hardest was seeing you suffer and leaving us. One of the great times is knowing that the suffering is through and you will become a very special angel which you always were to mom, dad, and myself. We`ll always love and miss you. Tom.
