  • Death: Rita Mary DeCleene died on January 28, 2014, at age 90.
  • Note: Rita Mary Boucher (DeCleene) age 90 passed away, January 28, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 4, 1923 the oldest daughter of 13 children of William and Christine (Scray) DeCleene in De Pere, WI.

    Rita married, Donald Leroy Boucher, March 2, 1946. Together they raised their family, first in Green Bay then to Oshkosh and Winneconne. While farming along her husband's side, they raised 10 children.

    Rita had been a lifelong member of many Catholic churches with the most resent being Most Blessed Sacrament of Oshkosh. Her strong faith carried her thru many blessing and challenges. At age 58 Rita went to school to be a C.N.A. she worked for Bethel Home and Supportive Homes Care, Oshkosh.

    She enjoyed making her grandchildren pajama's, then baby quits and then when the grandchildren got married, Packer Afghans and more baby quits for great grandchildren. Also enjoyed swimming at the YMCA. She is survived by her children, Chris Behrend, Boone, NC, Mary (Paul) Pamer, Oshkosh, WI, Donna Boucher (Sue Mills), Madison, WI, Carol (Bill) Michels, Green Valley, AZ, Luke (Sandra) Boucher, Aiken, SC, Becky (Chris ) Pettit, Omro, WI, Ellen (Dave) Smolinski, Neenah, WI, Joe (Jamie Spoor) Boucher, Oshkosh, WI, Mark (Debbie) Boucher, Boston, MA, and Tressa (Bill) Pedroff, St. Petersburg, FL.     She was preceded in death by her Husband, Donald in 1991, her parents, William and Christine; her in-laws, Joseph and Agnes Boucher, brothers, Howard, Harold and Victor DeCleene, brothers and sisters-in-law, Carol Boucher, Howard Strenn, Basil and Leo Verhasselt, David and Orby (Adele) Boucher, Muriel and Leo Metzler.

    The funeral for Rita will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at St. Josaphat's Church (1333 Walnut Street, Oshkosh, WI). Visitation will held on Friday, January 31, 2014, from 3pm to 7pm, with a prayer service at 6:30pm, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes Westside, (100 Lake Point Drive, Oshkosh, WI,) and also on Saturday 1 hour prior to the service.

    The family would like to thank, Vicki and Mary from Home Instead, the caregivers from Evergreen and the nurses from Hospice for the care of our mom.

  • Death: Bernice DeCleene died on March 13, 2017, at age 90.
  • Burial: She was buried in St Mary Cemetery, Greenleaf, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Bernice (De Cleene) Strenn, 90, Greenleaf, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 after a short illness at Ledgeview Nursing Center. Bernice was born August 31, 1926 in the Town of De Pere (Ledgeview) to the late William and Christine (Scray) De Cleene. She married Howard Strenn on April 26, 1947 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Greenleaf. Howard preceded her on October 10, 1996.

    Bernice was an active member of St. Mary's, Greenleaf, serving on the finance board, ladies society, phy-ed teacher, adult choir, and librarian. While living in De Pere she volunteered at Brown County Aging and De Pere Christian Outreach. She was also a member of American Legion Auxillary #436 of Wrightstown.

    She is survived by three sons, Blaise (Katalin) of Raleigh, NC; Paul (Celeste) of Worcester, NY and Edward (Yousedy) of Greenleaf; one daughter, Anne Van Dyke (fiance' Mike Olow) of Wrightstown; six grandchildren, Quinn Strenn, Tim (Jennifer)Van Dyke, Ben (Rachel) Van Dyke, Emily (Brandon) Luedtke, Peter (Brittany) Bong and Alicia Bong; 9 Great-grandchildren; sisters, Loretta Verhasselt, Helen Verhasselt, Sister Vonnie, Alice Morrell, Joyce De Cleene and Judy (Bob) Johanski; sisters-in-law, Laverne De Cleene, Leona De Cleene and Joanne De Cleene; many precious nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard; parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Inez (Brown) Strenn; brothers, Howard, Leo, Harold, Vic and Al; sisters, Rita Boucher and Sr. Mary De Cleene; brothers-in-law, Leo Verhasselt, Donald Boucher and Basil Verhasselt. Howard's family Lucy (Richard) Neuman, Vivian (Elwin) Cavil, Gordon (Adele) Strenn, Eunice (Robert) Strenn, Donald Strenn, Hazel (Bill) Van Grunsven.

    Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, March 20 at St. Clare Catholic Church-St. Paul Site, Wrightstown from 9:00am to 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Bernice at 11:00am with Rev. Bob Kabat officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Greenleaf.     Bernice loved being at home on the family farm; going to the woods, reading, baking bread, helping others in need, spending time with all those who loved her. She treasured all of her family, her friends and the community.

  • Note: Aloysious "Al" DeCleene, 86, De Pere, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016. The son of the late William and Christine (Scray) DeCleene was born on August 16, 1929 in De Pere. He married Joann Suplinski on October 3, 1953 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Green Bay. After serving in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict, he was proud to belong to the De Pere VFW Post 2113, and the American Legion-Urban Klister Post 436. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ledgeview, where Al was proud to mow the lawn for many years. Al was a skilled bricklayer, and was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. He was also a member of the De Pere Area Men's Club.

    He is survived by his wife, Joann, five children: Laurie (Dean) Pankow; Sandra (Mark) Zullner; Howard (Geralynn) DeCleene; Theresa (Tom) Alexander; Annette Reed; grandchildren: Ben (Kirstin) Pankow and their children, Brielle, Caleb, Josiah, and Daniel; Andrew (Amy) Pankow and their children, Anika and Leah; Linda (Zach) Stollfus; Mark (Jennifer) Hazaert and their children, Jacob and Elizebeth; Susan Fitzl and her children, Ray, Shay, and Trey; Rachel Hazaert; Matthew (Katie) DeCleene and their daughter Morgan; Christopher (Hang) DeCleene; Kathryn DeCleene; Preston Alexander; Leslea (Nathan) Cahill; Stacey (James) Webber; Spencer (Franchesca) Alexander; Laura DeBauche and her son Tyriek; brothers and sisters: Bernice Strenn, Loretta Verhasselt, Helen Verhasselt, Sr. Vonnie DeCleene, Alice Morrell, Joyce DeCleene, Judy (Bob) Johanski; sisters-in-law: LaVerne DeCleene, Leona DeCleene and Mildred Suplinski.

    In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by four brothers: Howard, Harold, Leo and Vic; sisters: Rita Boucher and Sr. Mary Margaret; brothers-in-law: Don Boucher, Howard Strenn, Basil Verhasselt and Leo Verhasselt; sons-in-law, Richard Hazaert and Michael Reed.

    Family and friends may visit Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm with a family led vigil at 6:30pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Dr, Ledgeview, from 9:30am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Rev Richard Getchel officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, De Pere.
