She attended Neenah High School, and later worked as a dietician for St. Elizabeth Hospital for 11 years.

    Terri is survived by her husband, Mike; her son, Russell Cross; her daughter, Michelle Cross; granddaughter, Hayla Cross; her mother, Crystal (Volkman) Smith; a brother, Steve (Diana) Volkman; three sisters, Cheryl (Randy) Schwalbach, Pam (special friend Brian) Grant, Kathy (special friend Bryan) Olenski; her dogs, Dixie and Duke; three nieces; four nephews; mother-in-law, Gloria Davenport; father-in-law and step-mother-in-law, Bill (Clara) Davenport; brother-in-law, Bill Davenport; sister-in-law, Heather (Mike) Swallom; and many other relatives and friends.

    She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Volkman; step-father, John Smith; brother, Dean Volkman; maternal and paternal grandparents; a dog, Mandy; aunts, uncles, and cousins; and two friends, Jody and Kay, with whom she is now reunited.

    A memorial service for Terri will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at ST. MARK LUTHERAN CHURCH, 140 South Green Bay Rd., Neenah, with Rev. Stephen Dietzler officiating. Friends may call at church on Saturday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the service.

  • Note: Charlene S. Fuerst, age 79, passed away at Harbor House Residence in Green Bay on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. She was born on February 20, 1932, the daughter of the late Paul and Fern (Hesse) Sigl. She married Leo Fuerst on April 22, 1950. Charlene liked gardening, both vegetables and flowers, and making a variety of crafts. She was a loving homemaker, and proud of her five children. Charlene will be remembered for positive outlook and bubbly laugh.

    Charlene is survived by her husband of 61 years, Leo; five children: Leon (Mary) of Little Chute, Tricia of Little Chute, Leo (Linda) of Freedom, Marie of Black Creek, and Mark of DePere; four grandchildren: Chad Van Handel, and Jennifer, Kyle, Michael Fuerst; and three great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her sister, Carol.

    The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 29, 2011, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park.

    The family extends a special thank you to Home Instead Senior Care, Harbor House, and Southern Care Hospice for their compassionate care.

  • Note: Leo M. Fuerst, age 83, passed away at Appleton Medical Center on Friday, October 5, 2012. He was born on October 23, 1928, in Appleton. Leo served our country from 1947-1949, in the Navy and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska. He married Charlene Sigl on April 22, 1950 at Sacred Heart Church in Appleton. Leo enjoyed gardening and all animals, especially his pets.

    Leo is survived by five children: Leon (Mary) of Little Chute, Tricia of Little Chute, Leo (Linda) of Freedom, Marie of Black Creek, and Mark of DePere; four grandchildren: Chad Van Handel, and Jennifer, Kyle, Michael Fuerst; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene in 2011, and several brothers and sisters.

    On Tuesday, October 9, 2012, there will be a time of gathering from 4:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 North Superior Street. Entombment will be private at Appleton Highland Memorial Park.

On June 30, 1951, Elizabeth married Roland Besaw. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1955. On May 18, 1966, she married Donald Amenson in Green Bay. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2000. Elizabeth was a homemaker raising 11 children. She enjoyed camping, playing cards, gardening and flowers. She liked Wisconsin scratch-off tickets and playing nickel slot machines at the casino. Elizabeth was an avid bird watcher.

    Elizabeth is survived by six sons, Tom (Anne) Amenson, Rick (Diane) Besaw, Brad Besaw and Tina Vallier, Steve (Kathy) Amenson, Pete (Mari) Amenson, all of Green Bay; Matt Amenson, Eau Claire; five daughters, Pat (Bill) Karlovitz, Illinois; Donna (Mike Shelton) Besaw, Florida; Peggy (Randy) Winkler, Debbie (Fred) Kerry and Beth Herlache, all of Green Bay; one brother, James (Nancy) Enderby, New Franken; three sisters, Carol Marnini, Tucson, Ariz.; Judy (Stewart) Greiling, Gillett; Pat Mueller, Green Bay; a brother-in-law, Elmer Horkman; sisters-in-law, Martha Enderby, Marge (Red) Servais, Florence Haverkorn, Doris Lampereur; 24 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

    In addition to her parents and husbands, Elizabeth is preceded in death by her brother, Donald Enderby; a sister, Loretta Horkman; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce (Urban) Lasee, Marilyn (Clem) Boehm; brothers-in-law, Don Marnini and Leonard Mueller; a son-in-law, Jim Herlache; and a great-grandson, David Lee.

    Friends may call after 4 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2011, at Lyndahl Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. with Deacon Jim Gauthier officiating.
