  • Death: Beatrice Burmeister died on January 23, 2011, at age 78, in Green Bay, Brown Co, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Beatrice "Bea" Roepcke, age 78, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay following a long illness. She was born February 6, 1932, daughter of the late Delbert and Viola (Nearing) Burmeister.On December 7, 1949, she was united in marriage to Eugene "Bud" Roepcke. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2002. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, in Seymour. Bea and Bud farmed in Cicero for 18 years prior to moving into Seymour. They owned Roepcke Insurance Agency for 35 years. Together they enjoyed spending time in the Northwoods and trips to the casino.
    Survivors include her daughters: Rhonda Bartel, Kimberly; Cherilyn DeDecker (special friend Doug Johnson), Tennessee; Marilyn (Warren) Wilde, Kaukauna; one son, Mitchell (Anne) Roepcke, Kimberly; seven grandchildren: Paul (Jodi) Bartel, Ryan (Heather) Bartel, Chad Bartel, Cory (Sarah) Wilde, Shawn Wilde, Jeff DeDecker, Kaylee Roepcke, and Maddison Roepcke, and eight great-grandchildren: Sabrina, Austin, Spencer, Lukas, Brynn, Dylan, Rachael and Ryan.
    In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother LeRoy Burmeister.
    Friends may call at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour on Saturday, January 29, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. until funeral services at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating.   • Death: Robert Clayton Baumgart died on January 24, 2011, at age 81, in Green Bay, Brown Co, Wisconsin.
  • Burial: He was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Bay Settlement, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Robert "Bob" Clayton Baumgart, 81, Green Bay, died peacefully at home on Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, with his family by his side. Born in Green Bay on Aug. 2, 1929, he is the son of the late Antone and Ora (Boerschinger) Baumgart. Bob was a 1947 graduate of Catholic Central High School, Green Bay, where he participated in boxing and football and also formed a polka band, "Bob Baumgart's Orchestra." He served in the Naval Reserves for one year.
    Bob married Janice Van Lanen on Aug. 21, 1948, at Holy Cross Church in Bay Settlement. In the early years, the couple moved to Calumet County where they operated a flower shop and jewelry store in Kiel. Bob also worked for Tecumseh in New Holstein and Kraft Foods in Green Bay. The couple returned to Green Bay, where Bob spent 29 years as City Building Inspector. In 1993, he was named the state's Building Inspector of the Year by the Wisconsin Building Inspectors Association, for which he served as president, secretary and treasurer. Bob also taught heating system courses for one- and two-family homes at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and served as the city's arson inspector. He retired in 1994. Bob was a gifted carpenter, building numerous homes in the city. He was honored in 2001 for 50 years of service with the United Commercial Travelers of America.
    Bob was active at St. Agnes Church, serving on parish council as well as being a Boy Scout leader for many years. As a Scout leader, he earned the Order of the Arrow award. Bob was a current member of St. John the Baptist Church in Howard.
    Bob enjoyed bowling, golf, card playing, taking his children and grandchildren fishing, hunting and trips to the cabin at Silver Cliff. Since retirement, he spent his winters in Sun City, Ariz., where he took great pride in caring for his rose garden and putting together jigsaw puzzles. Bob had a good sense of humor and enjoyed playing tricks on his grandchildren. The home was always filled with family, friends and chocolate.
    Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jan; seven children and their spouses, Judy (David) Rollings, North Sussex, United Kingdom; Robert (Cheri) Baumgart, Weyauwega, Jim (Kim) Baumgart, Franklinville, N.Y.; Jean (Jerry) Balestrieri, Appleton; Lynette Baumgart, Phoenix, Ariz.; Roseanne (Jeff) Polacek, Maribel; and Therese (Mark) Schelter, Green Bay. He is further survived by 27 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ken (Marcy) Baumgart, Florence; and Don Baumgart, Green Bay; one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley (Jerry) Gebhart, Green Bay; other sisters-in-law, Gen Baumgart, Pulaski; Joan (Norbert) Jadin, Bay Settlement; and Jane Van Lanen, Crivitz; other brothers-in-law, Jim (Barbara) Van Lanen, Two Rivers; Pat (Delores "Toots") Van Lanen, Bay Settlement; Bob Van Lanen and John (Nancy) Van Lanen, all of Green Bay.
    Preceded in death by his parents; one son, Joseph; a grandson, Robert; a brother, Tony; his father and mother-in-law, Edward and Cecilia Van Lanen; stepfather-in-law, Harry Henningson; sisters-in-law, Eloise Baumgart and Marge Baumgart; brothers-in-law, Donald Ferrier and Tom Van Lanen.

  • Note: Janice "Jan" Marie (Van Lanen) Baumgart, 87, Green Bay, died peacefully with her family by her side on Dec. 15, 2016. Born in Green Bay on Oct. 2, 1929, she is the daughter of the Edward and Cecilia M. (LeMieux) Van Lanen, (Harry Henningsen step-father after the death of Edward). Jan was a 1947 graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Green Bay, WI.

    She married Robert "Bob" C. Baumgart on Aug. 21, 1948, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bay Settlement, WI at the age of 18. In the early years, the couple moved to Calumet County where they operated a flower shop and jewelry store in Kiel.

    Jan was a busy homemaker with her eight lovely children. She enjoyed floral arranging, painting, bowling, golf, bridge, and ceramics. As the children were growing up they enjoyed many days at the cabin in Silver Cliff. After Bob retired, Jan and Bob spent many winters in Sun City, Ariz., where she had fun painting ceramics, playing mini golf and golfing.

    Jan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had great faith in the Lord and taught her family to have strong faith.

    Jan is survived by her seven children and their spouses: Judy (David) Rollings, Shoreham-by-Sea United Kingdom; Robert (Cheri), Weyauwega; James, Franklinville, NY; Jean (Jerry) Balestrieri, Appleton; Lynnette (Don) Baumgart-Kimpton, Phoenix, AZ; Roseanne (Jeff) Polacek, Maribel; and Therese (Mark) Schelter, Green Bay. She is further survived by 27 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Joan (Norbert) Jadin, Green Bay; brothers: James (Barbara) Van Lanen, Two Rivers; Robert Van Lanen, John Van Lanen, of Green Bay; sisters-in-law: Jane Van Lanen, Florida; Delores "Toots" Van Lanen, Green Bay; Gen Baumgart, Pulaski; brother-in-law Don Baumgart, Green Bay.
