  • Note: Mabel J. Plamann entered Eternal Life at the age of 102. Preceded in death by her husband Walter on Dec. 29, 1989. Mabel was born in Rhodes, IA, on September 20, 1907, to the late Albert and Alice (Donnelly) Blink. She moved to Wisconsin with her family at age 12.

    Loving and caring mother of seven children: Merle, De Pere; Walter, Neenah; Russell (Shirley), Seymour, TN; Dennis (Joanne), Mequon; the late Audrey, Gary and Keith. Mabel was blessed with 22 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by brother Leo (Leila) Blink, Wauchula, FL; sister-in-law, Muriel Blink, Green Bay; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

    She was preceded in death by three daughters-in-law: Georgiana, Janet and Patricia, great-grandchild, John Paul, sister Mary Krull, brothers: Walter, Paul, Wilber, Ralph, Earl, Glen, Adrian, LeRoy and Donald.

    Mabel will be greatly missed, but her loving spirit hopefully will remain alive in all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mabel will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette St., Appleton, with Fr. John Becker officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass. Burial will take place in St. Lawrence Catholic Church Cemetery, Navarino, WI. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for St. Pius X Catholic Church and Brewster Village.

    The family wishes to thank Carolina Manor and Brewster Village for their loving care.

  • Note: Merle D. Plamann, 83, De Pere, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 at Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King. He was born May 25, 1929 to the late Walter and Mabel (Blink) Plamann in Cicero, WI. He married Georgiana Hazen on December 29, 1953 at St. Boniface Church in De Pere.

    He is survived by children: Pamela (Issac) Jordan, Mary (Joe) Pepowski, Kathy (Ron) Bruun, Gregory Plamann, Michael (Lynda) Plamann, John (Keli) Plamann, Paul (Julie) Plamann and Peter (Stephanie) Plamann; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Joanne) Plamann, Roy Plamann, Russell (Shirley) Plamann.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Georgiana; sister, Audrey; brothers, Keith and Gary.

  • Death: He died on April 9, 2016, at age 85.
  • Note: Walter LeRoy "Roy" Plamann was relieved of his long battle with Dementia and Alzheimer’s on April 9, 2016 at the age of 85. Walt was born in Nichols on May 21, 1930 to Walter F. Plamann and Mabel (Blink) Plamann. He graduated from Bonduel High School in 1948. After high school he served two tours in the U.S. Navy, primarily as a firefighter. One in Corpus Christi, TX and the other aboard the USS Midway. He married Janet (Wirth) of Antigo on June 14, 1958. Through their 40 year marriage, they raised three children: Susan (Randy) Palmbach, Winchester; Nancy (Chris) Harn, Freedom and Dan (Lisa) Plamann, Sturgeon Bay. He was also a proud grandpa to two grandchildren: Benjamin Palmbach (Fianceé Billie Shafer), Neenah and Olivia Harn, Freedom. During his 40 year career with Kimberly-Clark he was also active in several volunteer organizations. This included serving as assistant fire chief with the Clayton-Winchester Fire Department as well as being an active member of the Clayton area Lions Club. Throughout his younger years, he was very active in sports. He played semi-pro baseball, lettered in track and boxing and played football. His passion became golf where he earned many trophies. In his retirement years he became a supporter of the Neenah Rockets athletic teams where he was regularly seen in the bleachers until he was no longer able to attend. During this time he also took pride in being active with his church, Saint Gabriel Parish.

    Along with his children, daughter-in-law, two sons-in-law and grandchildren, Walt is survived by two brothers: Dennis (Joanne), Mequon and Russell (Shirley), Seymour, TN; brother-in-law Otto (Nona) Wirth, Bass Lake; three spouses of brothers-in-law: Dorothy Wirth, Antigo; Delores Wirth-Meyer, Wausau and Geri Wirth, Manitowoc as well as many nieces and nephews. After passing he was greeted by his parents, his wife, three brothers: Keith, Gary and Merle; a sister Audrey; two sisters-in-law: Patricia and Georgiana; three brothers-in-law: Donald Wirth, Richard Wirth and Robert Wirth and nephew Brian Wirth.

    Walt’s family would sincerely like to thank the staff at St. Paul in Kaukauna, ThedaCare Hospice and especially Grand Horizons in Appleton. You helped him through his worst but still loved him like he was the best.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M., Thursday, April 14, 2016 at St. Gabriel Parish, 900 Geiger St., Neenah, Fr. Larry Seidl officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, and again at church on Thursday from 10:30 A.M. until the hour of service.

  • Note: Clayton R. Tilkens, 78, Bellevue resident, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born Dec. 25, 1931, in Green Bay, to the late Robert and Catherine (Beyer) Tilkens. Clayton was a graduate of Luxemburg High School. He married the former Geraldine Paye on Feb. 18, 1950, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Humboldt. Clayton was employed by Jenquine Silo company until he started his own business, Tilkens Silo Co. in 1960. After retiring from the Silo construction business he worked with his wife in the family business, G & C Gifts of Concrete. They worked together until his illness wouldn't allow. Clayton enjoyed dancing, working in his garden, bowling at Willow Creek Lanes and hunting with his sons.

    He is survived by his wife, Geraldine and seven children and their families, Linda (Larry) Brice, Green Bay and their children, Wesley and Angie; Sandy (Wayne) Kroll, De Pere and their children, Corey, Carrie and Crystal; Kathy (Gary) Sacotte, Wisconsin Rapids and their daughter, Melanie; Tina (Dean) DeRuyter, De Pere and their children, Dana and Jake; Bruce (Sue) Tilkens, De Pere and their children, Adam, Derek and Kendall; Penny (Andy) Duaime, Texas and their children, Ashlee and Sunny and Brian (Jenny) Tilkens, Amberg and their children, Wyatt and Hannah. 11 great- grandchildren; one brother, Elroy (Gerry) Tilkens, Crivitz; four sisters, Deloris (Ardeal) Davister, Luxemburg; Nathalie (Lester) Salzsieder, Green Bay; Agatha Hudson, Arizona; and Lavern Swille, Green Bay; four sisters-in-law, Clarice (Don) Lemmens, Karen (Jerome) Fels, all of De Pere; Mary Tilkens, Colorado; and Sandee Paye, Wausau; one brother-in-law, Cletus (Terry) Paye, California; nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by one grandson, Griffin Duaime; one brother, Marvin Tilkens; one sister, Maxine Prevost; two brothers-in-law, Joe Swille and Butch Paye.
    Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., after 10 a.m. Friday until time of service. Funeral Service 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev.
