  • Note: Bernard P. "Red" Rottier age 81 of De Pere passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday morning September 26, 2012. He was born August 19, 1931 in De Pere to the late Chris and Marie (Heezen) Rottier. On October 18, 1952 he married Geri Carter at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Green Bay. Bernard served his country from 1951 to 1955 in the United States Navy. He was a member of St. Boniface and then Our Lady of Lourdes in De Pere throughout his life. Bernard had worked at Ft. Howard Paper and retired from there after 35 years of service. He was a member of the De Pere Men's Club and a longtime Volunteer Fire Fighter with both the Village of Ashwaubenon and the Town of Lawrence. For over 50 years Bernard was a member of a card club with a group of friends.

    He is survived by his wife of 60 years Geri, his sons; Jim (Beckie) Rottier, Dale (Shelly) Rottier, his daughters; Diane McInnis, Sandy (Joe) Slimmer, Debbie (Greg) VandenLangeberg, his grandchildren; Chad (Kara), Jessica (Brian), Cheryl (Jim), Bryan (Lonni), Robert (Claudia), Will (Kate), Andrew (Rachel), Evan, Erin (Andrew), Eric, Zak, and Aaron; and 14 great grandchildren. His siblings; Dick (Mary) Rottier, Gerald (Janice) Rottier, Ray (Jan) Rottier, Peck (Joyce) Rottier, Harvey (Alice) Rottier, Bob (Jean) Rottier, Cathy Rottier, Jean Rottier also survive. Brother in laws and sister in laws that survive him include; Dale Van Erem, Arlene Weiland, Marcella (Roman) Schrieber, Melvin (Marlene) Carter, Shirley (Tony) Zettler, Marcia Carter as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

    He was preceded in death by his son in law; Ken McInnis, his brother Jim Rottier, his sisters Pat (Bob) Goffard, Rita Van Erem and brother in laws Ron Carter, and Herb Weiland.

    Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street in De Pere from 4 - 8pm Friday September 28, 2012. Visitation will continue after 9am Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family corner of Lourdes Ave. and Suburban Drive in De Pere until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am with Fr.     She lived her life with dignity and faith, and it was with dignity and faith that she entered the gates of heaven on March 1, 2016. Alice (Rottier) Lindgren, age 50, was born on December 27, 1965 to Richard (Dick) and Mary Rottier. Alice was a 1984 graduate of West De Pere High School. On October 11, 1986, she married the love of her life, Roy Lindgren.

    Alice worked for United Health Care for 29 years. For the year prior to her illness, she found fulfillment and joy working for Howard Chiropractic Clinic. Despite the many challenges she faced, Alice loved life! She especially enjoyed cooking, trips to Door County, cheering for the Green Bay Packers, and time spent with family. Above all else, her greatest pride was her children and grandchildren and her selfless character meant that they always came first.

    Survivors include her husband; her three children, Megan, Kendra, and Jordan; her grandchildren, Aaliyah and Andre; her parents; her sisters, Fran (Jeff) Larson, Carol (Don) Anderkay, Julie Rottier, and Amy (Steve) LaPierre; her sister-in-law, Debbie Lindgren; nieces and nephews, Nicole (Ben) Grall, Kayla (Sam) Weyenberg, Rick Larson, Sara (Mike Nagel) Anderkay, Brian Anderkay, Christina (Craig) Spierings, Brad (Kelsey) LaPierre, Mitch (Krista Hawkinson) LaPierre, and Heather (Jason) Peterson; aunts, uncles, and cousins, including one very special cousin, Melanie Styczynski.

    Alice was preceded in death by loved ones who were waiting for her in heaven with open arms, including her brother, Paul Rottier; her nephew, Jeffie Larson; her mother-in-law, Margaret Flouro; her grandparents, Chris and Marie Rottier and August and Frances VanDerLinden; and numerous aunts and uncles.

  • Note: Gerald F. Rottier, 80, longtime Green Bay area resident, died peacefully Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at a local nursing home. He was born February 27, 1935, in West De Pere to Chris and Marie (Heezen) Rottier. Gerald graduated from St. Norbert High School with the Class of 1954. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959 in Germany. He later served in the U.S. Army Reserves. On September 7, 1959, Gerald married Janice Henry at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Gerald was employed as a Pasteurizer at Lov-It Creamery for 38 years. He retired in March of 1997. Gerald was a long time member of St. Agnes Parish and served as an usher. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and walking.

    Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Janice; their six children and their spouses, Stephen and Beth Rottier, Edward and Sandy Rottier, Barbara and James Blahnik, Patrick and Rose Rottier, Anne and Jeff Smith, Peter Rottier and his wife, Linda Pollack; 12 grandchildren and their spouses, Michael Rottier, Sarah and Matt Giuliani, Cole Rottier, Kendra Rottier, Katie Blahnik, Matt Blahnik, Chris and Erin Rottier, Samantha Rottier, Amanda Zucker, Andrew Zucker, Nurzhan Pollack Rottier, Adelzhan Pollack Rottier; a great-grandson, Gus Giuliani; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Dick and Mary Rottier, Ray and Janice Rottier, Roland "Peck" and Joyce Rottier, Harvey and Alice Rottier, Bob Rottier, Cathy Rottier, Jean Rottier; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gerry Rottier, Dale Van Erem, James Smith; many other relatives and friends.

    Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bernard Rottier, Jim Rottier; two sisters, Rita Van Erem, Pat Goffard; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Henrietta Henry; three sisters-in-law, Jean Rottier, Marilyn Smith, Carole Tilkens; a brother-in-law, Bob Goffard.

    Friends may call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth Street, from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.   • Note: Rita Joan (Rottier) VanErem, 70, De Pere, peacefully went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer.
    Rita was born on June 25, 1940, to the late Chris and Marie (Heezen) Rottier.
    On Oct. 27, 1962, she married Dale VanErem at St Boniface Church, De Pere.
    Rita attended St. Boniface Grade School and St. Joseph Academy in Green Bay. Rita worked many places in her career as an accountant. She retired from Leicht's Transfer and Storage in 2002.
    Rita's family was the most important thing in her life. She treasured her time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She and Dale loved to attend their children and grandchildren's academic, music, and athletic events. She was a very dedicated parent and grandparent.
    She also enjoyed riding the couple's tandem bicycle on the trails. She spent many hours volunteering as the treasurer of De Pere Christian Outreach. Rita loved family, reading, biking and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
    Rita is survived by her loving husband, Dale; four children, Joe (Pam) VanErem, De Pere; Marie (Paul) Sauvey, De Pere; David (Jodi) VanErem, Green Bay; Lynn (Lance) Anderson, North Port, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Liz, Brittany, and Dani VanErem, Katie and Colleen Sauvey, Vincent and Veda VanErem, Grace and Hope Anderson; brothers and sisters, Bernard (Geri) Rottier, Patricia Goffard, Gerald (Janice) Rottier, Dick (Mary) Rottier, Ray (Janice) Rottier, Peck (Joyce) Rottier, Harv (Alice) Rottier, Bob (Jean) Rottier, Cathy Rottier, and Jean Rottier; mother-in-law, Caroline VanErem; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clete (Ann) VanErem, Howard (Lynette) VanErem, Tom (Linda) VanErem, Jerry (Debbie) VanErem; many nieces nephews and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Rottier; and her father-in-law, Arthur VanErem.
