  • Note: Richard M. Deltour (Dick), Appleton, passed away June 25, 2010, at the age of 67, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born in Appleton, on Jan. 13, 1943.

    Dick was an Army Veteran and served in Vietnam. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. While being injured by shrapnel, he continued to evacuate his fellow soldiers until ordered to be evacuated.

    After service, he worked at Gilbert Paper. He went to Culinary School at Fox Valley Technical College and worked at numerous restaurants in the Valley.

    Dick is survived by two sisters, Marilyn Keddell, Appleton; Sandy Jansen, Waupaca; brother-in-law, Norbert (Sue) Bodway, Waupaca; nieces and nephews, Carol (Steve) Otto, David (Beth) Keddell, Paul (Janel) Keddell, Teri (Gary) Schultz, Vicki Mack, Shelley (Dell) Mork, Julie (Rich) Rasmussen, Linda (Pete) Schroeder, Bev (Bill) Hoppenworth, Cheryl (Steve) Vanden Wyngaard, Kathy Bragg and Dan (Laura) Bodway; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

    Dick was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Deltour; sister, Joylene Bodway; brothers-in-law, Ken Keddell and Ronald Jansen; and great-aunt, Lillian Martin.

    The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kurt Hoffman officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.

    Dick will be missed dearly by family and friends at the Camelot. Dick was a special brother to us and we will miss him because he took care of us when our husbands died. We Love You.

    The family extends a special thank you to the doctors and chaplain at Appleton Medical Center for their wonderful care.

  • Note: Kenneth R. Keddell, 81, passed away at his home after a long illness with his family by his side on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009. He was born on Nov. 20, 1927, in Appleton, son of the late James and Grace (Felzer) Keddell. On May 5, 1951, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Deltour.

    Ken served his country with the U.S. National Guard. He worked for 43 years as a mechanic for Meiers Rudolph Lincoln Mercury in Appleton, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family and friends. Ken was known as "Mr. Fix It" to his grandchildren and was always willing to tinker and fix lawnmowers, snowblowers and small engines for his family and friends. He was also known as the "Candyman" to the doctor's office staffs, always supplying everyone with candy.

    Ken is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn Keddell, Appleton; daughter, Carol (Steve) Otto, Appleton; sons, David (Beth Gasper) Keddell, Waupaca; and Paul (Janel) Keddell, Sturgeon Bay; brothers, Floyd (Roseann) Keddell, Neenah; and Clyde (Vi) Keddell, Appleton; sister, Katharine (Lyle) Marquart, Neenah; sister-in-law, Sandy Jansen, Waupaca; brother-in-law, Richard Deltour, Appleton; grandchildren, Scott Otto, Jen (Tim) Brennan, Sarah (John) Rivet, Heather (Ben) Keddell, Amy Keddell and Keagan and Payton Keddell; great-grandchildren, Miranda, Hailey, Gavin, Evan and Ally.

    He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Art (Millie) Keddell, Jennie (Artie) Bobb, Violet Salm, Dodger Keddell, Dorothy and Lloyd Kobs, Tom Keddell, Barbara Lautenschlager; and special brother-in-law, Ron Jansen.

    Funeral services for Ken will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at 11 a.m. at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.

    A memorial fund is being established in his name.

    Ken's family would like to express a very special thank you to Dr. Rigstad, Dr. Whiteside, Eric and Monica and the staff of Theda Care at Home Hospice, especially Danielle for their loving care and concern.

    Clyde was born February 13, 1929 in Appleton son of the late James and Grace (Felzer) Keddell. He was united in marriage to Violet Olson on November 10, 1956. Clyde was formerly employed with the Appleton School district in the maintenance department for several years until his retirement. He enjoyed camping and backyard cookouts with his family and friends, and drinking beer, particularly "Old Milwaukee".

    Clyde is survived by his loving wife, Violet of 57 years, their children, David Zeutzius, Christine Koerner, Jeffrey (Julie) Keddell, Julie (Kevin) Costillo, Anthony (Lori) Keddell, Lisa Keddell (Ed Peters), grandchildren, Chad Zeutzius, Carrie Helms, Mark and Rick VanderWielen, Jennifer (Jeremy) White, Michael, Rachel and Michelle Keddell, Amy (Joe) Heiman, Cherry (Jesse Becker) Coda, Heather Keddell, and Samantha Peters, along with many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Kathryn (Lyle) Marquart, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Jenny, Violet, Dorothy, Barbara, Tom, Art, Floyd, Kenny and Donald.

    A memorial service will be held 1:00PM Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Valley Funeral Home with Rev. David Skarsten officiating. Inurnment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Clyde's family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service. A memorial fund is being established in Clyde's name.

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and Doctor's at Fox River Nursing and Rehabilitation for the time and care given to Clyde and his family.

  • Note: Violet Keddell, 93, of Appleton, passed away peacefully Tuesday October 31, 2017 at The Atrium Post Acute Care of Appleton. She was born September 16, 1924 in Helvetia, WI; daughter of the late Barnhardt and Myrtle (McMahan) Olson. Violet married Clyde Keddell on November 10, 1956. Clyde preceded her in death on October 8, 2013.

    Violet enjoyed reading, playing cards, and just sitting on her front porch enjoying the view. Her greatest love came from spending time with her family, sitting by the fire, camping together, and especially all of the family holidays.

    Violet is survived by her five children: Christine Koerner, Jeffrey (Julie) Keddell, Julie (Kevin) Costello, Anthony (Lori) Keddell, and Lisa Keddell (Ed Peters); 11 grandchildren: Chad (Jehn) Zeutzius, Carrie Helms, Rick VanderWielen, Jennifer (Jeremy) White, Michael (Joslynn) Keddell, Rachel Keddell, Michelle Keddell, Amy Heiman, Cherry Coda, Heather Keddell, and Samantha Peters; She is further survived by many great- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Violet was further preceded in death by a son, David Zeutzius; grandson, Mark VanderWielen; son in-law Frank VanderWielen; brother Delbert; and two sisters: Pearl and Rita.

    A private family funeral service for Violet will be held on Saturday November 4, 2017 at Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Flowers and condolences may be sent to the funeral home. A memorial is being established in Violet's name.

    Violet's family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at the Atrium Post Acute Care of Appleton, for all of their care and compassion.
