    Elaine Kohl, age 91, of Appleton passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born February 2, 1924 in Appleton, to the late George and Edna (Nussbaum) Lippert. On November 23, 1944, Elaine married Earl Kohl and they shared 48 wonderful years together before his passing on March 17, 1993. They owned and operated their farm in the Town of Grand Chute, and were long time members of St. Edward Catholic Church in Mackville. Her family meant the world to her, and she looked forward to every opportunity to be with her children and their families.

    Elaine is survived by her four children: Janice Steffens, Charles (Sandra) Kohl, Ronald (Susan) Kohl, and Leann Mader; grandchildren: Gary (Kris) Steffens, Julie (Kevin) Laux, Linda (Tim) Gorges, Paul (Sue) Steffens, and Greg (fiancé Kayla Paulus) Steffens; Pete Kohl and Dan (Mariah Jannell) Kohl; Jamie (Lisa) Kohl, Jeff (Casey) Kohl, and Jodi (Chris) Plott; Jennifer (Andrew) LeRoy; 17 great grandchildren; brothers: Roy Lippert and Kenneth Lippert; sisters: Betty (Joseph) Boyle and Ethel (Alvin) Steinberg; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Bloy. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Earl "Bert" Kohl, grandson Joseph Kohl, son-in-law Chuck Mader, sisters Agnes Kohl and Helen Besaw and sister-in-law Marian Lippert.

    The funeral liturgy for Elaine will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at ST. EDWARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, Highway 47 in Mackville. Fr. Charles Brooks will be officiating. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Appleton. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:00 am until the time of mass.   • Note: Charles William Blodgett, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, as a result of a stroke. He was born October 21, 1922, the son of the late Walter and Anna (Matheson) Blodgett. After high school, Charles enlisted in the Army Air Force in 1943. He honorably served his country until his discharge in 1945. Charles married his first wife, Mildred, who preceded him in death in 1988. Charles worked for Thilmany Paper Company for 32 years until his retirement in 1984. Charles married his loving wife, Eunice Dabill, on June 23, 1989. Charles enjoyed traveling and woodworking. He was a proud family man who was known for his great sense of humor and his fun loving attitude.

    Charles will be sadly missed by his wife, Eunice Blodgett of Appleton; daughters: Elaine (John) Anderson of Appleton, Shirley (David) Huycke of Appleton; grandchildren: Eric Anderson and special friend, Kris, Kerrie (Steve) Gonnering, Greg (Michelle) Anderson, Tim (Andrea) Anderson, Sara (Jody) Meulemans, Peter (Amanda) Huycke, Steven Huycke, Daniel (Fiance, Jodi) Huycke; 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Charles was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

    Funeral services for Charles will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 28, 2010, at APPLETON ALLIANCE CHURCH, 2693 W. Grand Chute Blvd, Appleton, with the Rev. Dick Schaefer officiating. Friends will be received for visitation on Sunday, June 27, 2010, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wichmann Funeral Home and again on Monday at church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

The survivors are the widow (Eva Grishaber), seven sons, George, Andrew, Domnick, Conrad, Joseph, Carl and Alois of this city; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Hoffman, Chicago; Mrs. George Henninger, Milwaukee, 36 grandchildren. Mr Grishaber was a member of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin. He had been bridge tender for the Lawe-st. bridge for the last eight years. The body will lie in state at the Wichman Funeral parlors from Saturday noon to Monday morning. Funeral services will be at 9 o'clock Monday morning from St. Joseph church. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

  • Note: Mrs. Eva Grishaber, 92, 148 S. Telulah avenue, resident of Appleton for 72 years, died at 12:15 Wednesday afternoon after a short illness. She was born Nov. 9, 1853, in St. Louis, Mo., and was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Appleton.
    Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Theresa Hoffman, Chicago, Ill; Mrs. Edith Henninger, Campbellsport, Wis.; three sons, Andrew, Conrad and Aloysius, Appleton; 33 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren.
    Funeral Services will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Joseph's Catholic church, the cortege leaving the Brettschneider funeral home at 9:30. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock tonight and rosary will be recited there at 8 o'clock tonight and Friday night.
