    MRS. FLORIAN GUILLETTE PASSES AWAY AT HOME
    Mrs. Florian Guillette, 83, who died last evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Charles, 1324 Day street. She is survived by six children, 33 grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren.
    The children are Joseph of Duvall, Mrs. Gus Laluzerne of Duvall; Jules, Rosiere; Mrs. Frank Bassine, Coleman; and Mrs. Fred Charles, Green Bay. She also leaves three brothers and one sister, Charles Piette, Appleton, Joseph Piette, Algoma, Louis Piette, Appleton; and Mrs. Martin Charles, Brussels.
    The body is at the Charles home, and the funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Hubert's church, Rosiere, with burial in the church cemetery.

    FINAL RITES HELD FOR MRS. FLORIAN GUILLETTE
    Funeral services for Mrs. Florian Guillette, 83, who died Monday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Charles in Green Bay, were held Thursday morning at ten o'clock from the St. Hubert's Catholic church in Rosiere. She is survived by five children, thirty-three grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren.
    The children are Joseph and Mrs. Gus Laluzerne of Duvall; Jules of Rosiere; Mrs. Fred Charles, Green Bay; Mrs. Frank Bassine of Coleman. She also leaves three brothers and a sister, Charles and Louis Piette, Appleton; Joseph Piette, Algoma and Mrs. Martin Charles, Brussels.

    Florian Guelette, a highly respected resident of the town of Union, Door County, died at his home in that town on Saturday, September 3, 1909, after an illness of several weeks. Deceased was a native of Belgium, and was 67 years old at the time of his death. The funeral, which took place from St. Hubert's Catholic Church at Rosiere, last Monday was a large one, Rev C.J Smits officiated.

    Joe Piette Dies; 92 Years of Age
    Native of Belgium Succumbs to Old Age Infirmities Wednesday Morning
    Ninety-two year old Joe Piette died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G. Tenor, Cedar Corners, Wednesday morning at 10:30. Hale and hearty until only a few months ago, Mr. Piette spent a lifetime practically devoid of illness, a fact of which he was extremely proud. Old age infirmities brought about his death.
    Funeral services have been set for Saturday morning at 9:30 when the Rev. Francis Heimann will officiate in the Immaculate Conception church. Arrangements are being handled by the Wiesner-Massart Funeral home and burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. Mr. Piette was born in Belgium Aug. 12, 1853, and came from his native land with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Piette in 1856.
    The family settled in Misiere and for many years Mr. Piette farmed the land owned by Ben Delfosse. For several years in the 1880 he worked at a shingle mill at Whitefish Bay Door county, and in November, 1884 he married Celestine Francois in St. Michael's church, Misiere. She died 13 years ago.
    He is survived by six children with whom he had been making his home since the death of Mrs. Piette. They are Michael, Appleton; August, Algoma; Mrs. Mary Cumber, Green Bay; Frank, Forestville; Mrs. George Tenor, and Mrs. Joseph Coppersmith, Algoma. One sister Mrs. Mary Charles, Fairland and 27 grandchildren also remain.

  • Note: Marcella "Sally" Wegner, 95, Appleton, died Friday, March 4, 2011, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon. Sally was born in Appleton, on April 4, 1915, to the late Anton and Lena (Schmeider) Choudoir. She lived in Appleton most of her life until moving to Ripon to be near her daughter.

    On Sept. 6, 1937, she was united in marriage to Melvin "Bud" Wegner at St. Mary Catholic Church, Appleton. Bud preceded her in death in February of 1969. Sally operated concession stands at Goodland Field in Appleton for 35 years. In her later years, she worked at Peerless Cleaners.

    Sally loved to sing and play piano and sang in the Thompson Community Center Choir. She also enjoyed her casino trips and was an avid bowler. She was a lifelong member at St. Mary Catholic Church, Appleton.

    She is survived by her daughter, Kay (Harry) Olm, Ripon; son, Jerry (Marjorie) Wegner, Elm Grove; ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; her brother, Roland Choudoir, Appleton; two sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four brothers, Tony, Gordy, Warren and Harold.

    A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 S. State St., Appleton, with Father David Funk, OFM Cap officiating. Friends may visit at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton.

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Ripon Medical Center for the compassionate care shown to Sally.
