His business beliefs were to treat his customers fairly, work hard, and give them the best value for their money. Each spring Mom and Dad would look forward to the blossoming of their Magnolia tree. This tree was special because it was a gift, from their children, on their 40th wedding anniversary. As the Magnolia prepared to blossom this spring, Dad helped Mom prepare for Heaven, knowing he was to follow soon after. Diagnosis of a few months to live, "14 months ago", Dad wanted to be the perfect gentleman and let his love pass through the door first. He dismissed his pain to console and comfort Mom in her time of need. On April 3rd, Mom joined in the magnificence of Heaven, as did the Magnolia tree blooming in its full glory. Dad's work on this earth was now complete. As the last of the petals fell from the Magnolia on Friday, and Dad's heart so lonely these last few weeks missing his "Pudge", Dad was called to Heaven. He left this world with a smile on his face knowing he was going to meet God, and be reunited with his "ever-lovin" of 65 years. We will miss you Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa. Thanks for showing us how to appreciate the little things, sharing your wisdom and most of all for being such a good teacher.

"Shorty's" family wishes to thank St. Paul Home and staff and Dr. Goggins for their loving care and concern.

Their almost 65 year marriage was a true love story. Mom was truly multi-tasking, with one of her seven children in one arm, she would be folding wash, making meals, tending to bumps and bruises and helping with homework. Mom enjoyed sewing, golfing, fishing, bowling, knitting, traveling and a little gambling. She loved music and dance, when she heard one of her favorite songs on the radio she was known to "drop everything" and tap dance a special show for her children. Mom had a unique gift of making each and everyone of us feel special, no matter how busy she was. On Monday it was time to release Mom of earthly burdens when she was called by God to a special place in heaven. Mom continued to teach her children by showing us the peaceful side of death. She revealed God's peace and love on her journey to heaven. VERKUILEN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES Little Chute 920-788-3321.
