Henry Havinga

    Age 81, passed away on December 11, 2002, at Appleton Medical Center. Henry was born in Rossmalen, Holland on February 7, 1921, son of the late Peter and Wilhelmina (Von Uden) Havinga. He served in the United States Army Quartermaster Corp in the South Pacific during World War II for 41 Months. After his service, he married Edith Jane Vanden Heuvel in Kimberly on May 14, 1947. He retired in 1983 from Appleton Paters (Locks Mill) as a pipefitter after 43 years of employment. Henry was active in his community as a lifetime member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, member of the William Verhagen Post #60 of the American Legion in Kimberly, and served as President of the Union for two terms and further served on other committees. Henry enjoyed woodworking, reading and traveling.

    Henry is survived by his wife Edith, two children: Keith Havinga of Kimberly and his children Randal and Kristle , and Kay (Jim) Zaddack of Newport, MN and Kay’s children Gary(Roxann) Austin and Joe Austin; one sister, Betty Mc Falls of New Berlin; one brother, Peter (Mary) Havinga of Phelps; four sisters-in-law: Betty Havinga of Escanaba, Agnes Havinga of Kimberly, June Domer of Appleton and Pet Vanden Huevel of Appleton; and numerous neices and nephews.

    Henry is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Carnie and Gilbert Havinga; one sister, Katie Andrejeski; and two brothers-in-law: John Vanden Huevel and Orv Domer.

    The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2002, at HOLY NAME OF JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 East Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Friends will be recieved at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., also at the funeral Home. The William Verhagen Post #60 of the American Legion will be conducting military honors at 6:45 p.m. followed by a wake service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Entombment will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park.

    The family extends a special thank you to the Nurses at 4 North at Appleton Medical Center for their compassionate care. The family further thanks Dr. Whiteside, Dr. Wilson, Dr. Price and especially Dr. Ebben and his nurses Terri and Judy, for their outstanding care.

  • Note: Irene Veronica (Zehren) Clark, 87, Combined Locks, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on March 19, 2015. She was born April 21, 1927, in the Town of Brazeau, Oconto County, daughter of John P. Zehren and Helen A (Stark) Zehren. Irene graduated from Appleton High School in 1945 and was united in marriage to Theodore Clark Jr on September 2, 1950. She worked for many years as a secretary with U.S. Oil Company and Appleton Supply Company. Irene enjoyed making candy, spinning, knitting and getting together with friends and family.

    She is survived by six children: Christopher (Karie) Clark, Champaign IL; Mary Jo (Gene) Wojcik, New Franken, WI; Patrick (Marianne) Clark, Kaukauna, WI; Timothy (Tammy) Clark, Sturgeon Bay, WI; Ann Mercedes (Ned) Austin, Kaukauna, WI; Gregg (Brenda) Clark, St Louis, MO.

    Surviving grandchildren are Rebekah (Ryan) King, Gene Jr. (Amber) Wocjik, Jonathan (Dana) Austin, Katherine (Ethan) Karol, Timothy Clark, Amy (Brett) Roberts, Elizabeth (Jake) Filipiak, Tyler (Bryony) Austin, Eleanor Bosman-Clark, Daniel (Anna) Wojcik, Rachel Wojcik, Meghan Clark, William Clark, eight great-grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Judy Zehren, Cincinnati, OH.

    Irene was preceded in death by her husband Theodore on April 15, 2004, two children David and Thomas, her granddaughter Angela Marie Clark, her parents, her sisters, Helen Corso and Alice Porior, and her brother 1st Lieutenant John G. Zehren, U.S. Army Air Corps.

    Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday March 23, 2015, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Biography

  • Birth: Edward J Stanley was born on December 21, 1938.
  • Death: He died on December 23, 2012, at age 74.
  • Note: Edward J. "Ed" Stanley, of Crooked Lake, WI, formerly of Appleton, age 74, passed away unexpectedly at home on December 23, 2012. He was born on December 21, 1938 in Birch Creek Township, WI to the late George "Pat" and Suzanne (Duval) Stanley. Ed married Janice Sanders on June 23, 1962 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Little Chute. They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past June. He served in the United States Army Reserve. Ed worked at Hertz in Appleton for over 42 years until his retirement in 2009.

    Ed was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was known for his cooking as well as his many secret recipes. Ed could usually be found in the kitchen or at his smoker making sausage or smoked fish. He also raced short track stock cars for many years in the 60's and 70's.

    Ed is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janice "Jan" Stanley; children: Brenda (Rick) Austin and Scott (Diane) Stanley, all of Crooked Lake; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and brothers: Joe (Leanne) of Mapleton, ND and Les (Althea) of Sparta. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by Jan's parents: Lloyd "Porky" and Stella Sanders.

    Visitation will be held Friday December 28, 2012 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 1:00 p.m. The Rev.
