    Age 66, passed away Thursday afternoon after a long illness. He was born in the Town of Harrison September 27, 1903 and operated a farm there all of his lifetime. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood. He is survived by three sons, Rodney, Combined Locks; George and John, both of R. No. 1, Menasha; two brothers, Ivo, R. No. 1, Menasha; Norbert, Sherwood; one sister, Mrs. Anna Derfus, R. No. 1, Menasha; 6 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Rev. Michael Drexler will officiate. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna, after 2 p.m. Friday where prayer services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday evening.

  • Note: Mrs. Roman Holzschuh, 57, of R. 1, Menasha, died Monday after a long illness.
    She was born on April 23, 1909, in the Town of Harrison (Calumet County), daughter of John and Anna Mueller. On Oct. 23, 1934, she was married to Roman Holzschuh at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood.
    The couple had since lived and farmed in Harrison. Mrs. Holzschuh belonged to the Catholic Knights and to the St. Ann Altar Society.
    She is survived by her husband; three sons, Rodney, of Combined Locks, George and John both at home; three brothers, Arno, of Marytown, Alex of Fond du Lac, and Arthur of St. Cloud; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Theurwachter and Miss Jeannette Mueller, of Fond du Lac; and four grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church in Sherwood, with burial in the parish cemetery.
    Friends may call at the Schinderle Funeral Home in Stockbridge after 2 p m. Wednesday. A rosary will he prayed at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

John C Mueller

  • Note: The condition of John Mueller of Stockbridge, which was beginning to show signs of improvement, recently took a turn for the worse. and he died Wednesday morning. He had been ill for more than a month as a result of severe burns suffered in a fire in his home. He had rushed into the burning house to save his son and on learning that the boy was not in the building, he jumped out of the window thereby suffering a fracture of the ankle. The injury in the ankle became infected.
    Surviving are the widow, eight children, Alexander, Bernita, Gilbert, Armond, Lina, Arthur, Janet, and Robert; three sisters, Mrs. Lena Fenton, St. Paul; Mrs. Mary Parker, Appleton; Mrs. Hannah Bloy, Sherwood; five brothers, Peter and Antone H., Sherwood; Joseph, North Dakota; Jacob, Milwaukee; Nicholas, Stockbridge.
    The body was conveyed Wednesday to Stockbridge where the funeral will take place at 9:30 Saturday morning at St. Mary church. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart cemetery of Sherwood.

  • Note: Mrs. John Miller, Harrison, 44 years old, died Monday at St. Elizabeth hospital following an operation. The de-ceased was taken ill with an attack of influenza about three week ago. She was brought to the hospital Saturday, but an operation failed to save her life. The body was taken to Sherwood for burial.

  • Note: George Roman Holzschuh, of Sherwood, 72, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Appleton, from complications of heart surgery. He was born March 10, 1943 to Roman and Bernita (Mueller) Holzschuh. He graduated from Hilbert High School with the class of 1961. After graduation he worked with his father on the family farm. He took ownership of the farm and was a successful dairy farmer until his retirement in 2007. He was especially proud that the farm had been in the Holzschuh family for over 100 years. George was a hunter, who also enjoyed watching wildlife on his farm.

    He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by two brothers: Rodney (Rosemary), Combined Locks and John A. (Joan), Brillion. He is further survived by four nieces and four nephews and their families: Nancy (Kerry) Westervelt, Maryland; Linda (Dennis) Groves, De Pere; Sharon (Simon) Neicheril, Texas; Tera Holzschuh (Steven Duvall), Colorado; James (Cathy) Holzschuh, Appleton; John P. Holzschuh, Combined Locks; Joel (Leanette) Holzschuh, Kaukauna and George F. (Abby) Holzschuh, Kimberly.

Rose farmed all of her life until h er retirement and then enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the S t. Ann's Altar Society. Survivors include two daughters: Betty (Charles) G ehl, Sherwood; Helen (Gene) Loose, Potter; two sons: Paul (Diane), Menash a; Carl (Linda), Sherwood; 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, fi ve step great-grandchildren. and a great-great grandson, two sisters: Lill ian Reuter, Menasha; Helen Sholund, Neenah; two brothers: Roman (Dorett a) Gosz, Appleton; Norbert (Catherine) Gosz, Shawano. She was preced ed in death by her husband, Ivo on January 14, 1996; a brother and sister- in-law, John and Irene Gosz; a brother, Clarence Gosz and two brothers-in- law: Cyril Reuter and John Sholund. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursd ay October 11, 2001 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood with the R ev. Kenneth Frozena officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Fr iends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion from 4 to 9 p. m. on Wednesday and then at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until t he time of mass.
