  • Note: Francis J. Schneider W4888 Spring Hill Drive Sherwood Age 77, died peacefully Wednesday, November 22, 2000, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, Wisconsin. Frank was born December 29, 1922, in Hollandtown, Wisconsin, son of the late Joseph and Minnie (Brooker) Schneider. He was a graduate of St. John High School in Little Chute.

    Frank was a proud member of the Thomas P. Kees Post 496 of the American Legion in Sherwood and was a veteran of the Army Air Corps during World War II, serving as a pilot in Europe and the South Pacific.

    After the war, he moved to the High Cliff area and began farming. He was an avid outdoorsman and is probably best remembered for developing High Cliff Golf Course and for his contributions to wildlife and nature in the surrounding area. Frank is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ann (Van Zeeland) their children and in-laws, James and Kathy Schneider, Flagstaff, Arizona Warren and Linda Schneider, Sherwood Faye and Tom Goff, Kaukauna Jerome and Lori Schneider, Kaukauna Lynda and Russ Ostrowski, Appleton Roy and Mary Schneider, Wrightstown Donald and Brenda Schneider, Pewaukee, and 16 grandchildren, all from Wisconsin two brothers and a sister-in-law, Glenn and Joan Schneider, Little Chute Robert Schneider, Phoenix, Arizona four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Marie and Pete Ruys, Kimberly Joann Schneider, Cape Coral, Florida Lorraine and Pat Lennon, Naples, Florida Rosemand and George Ebben, Kaukauna, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, November 25, 2000, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood, with Fr. Kenneth Frozena officiating. Burial in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call directly at the church from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name for the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Complete military rites, conducted by the Thomas P. Kees Post 496 of the American Legion, will immediately follow services at the church. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna, is assisting the family with arrangements.     Schneider, Ann D.
    Ann D. Schneider, 87, Sherwood, Wis., died peacefully on Saturday morning, April 11, 2009, at the Saint Paul's Nursing Home in Kaukauna. Ann was born on May 1, 1921, in Combined Locks, the daughter of William and Anna (Behling) Van Zeeland. She was a graduate of Saint John High School in Little Chute. After graduating from high school, Ann attended business school in Detroit, and then returned to the area. She married in 1948 and moved to the High Cliff area to begin farming and to raise a family. Ann loved to garden, tend to her flowers and was an avid walker. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
    She is survived by her children and in-laws, James and Kathy Schneider, Neenah; Warren and Linda Schneider, Sherwood; Faye and Tom Goff, Kaukauna; Jerome and Lorrie Schneider, Kaukauna; Lynda Schneider, Kimberly; Roy and Mary Schneider, Wrightstown; Donald and Brenda Schneider, Sherwood; 17 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Donata Wolfgram, Milwaukee; Myra and Russell Dercks, Little Chute. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
    Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 52 years, Frank; her sisters, Wilma, Celia, Hilda, Julia, Emily, Hilda and Julia; her brothers, Fred, Alois, Billie and Bobbie.
    The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, N369 Military Road, Sherwood, with Fr. Kenneth Frozena celebrating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in memory of Ann with proceeds going to the Northeastern Wisconsin Alzheimer's Society.
    The Boettcher Family Funeral Home in Kaukauna is assisting the family (920-766-2099).
    Special thanks to Barb Jack and all the caregivers at the Saint Paul Home in Kaukauna, for the caring, compassion and love shown to Ann in her final years.

    Founder of Real Estate Company Was Son of Settler
    William Van Zeeland, 1116 W. Third St., Kimberly, co-founder of the Kimberly Real Estate Co., died in Milwaukee Sunday at 79 after a three week illness. He was at the home of a daughter at the time of death.
    Born in Wrightstown, March 26, 1883, Van Zeeland was the son of Henry Van Zeeland, who settled in Kimberly 28 years before it became a village. He was a director or manager of the Kimberly Real Estate Co,, Home Supply Co, Kimberly, Kimberly Savings and Loan, and the Kimberly State Bank, all of which he helped establish.
    A former member of the Kimberly Business Men's Association, he was Combined Locks Village assessor and director of the Holy Name Society of St. Paul Catholic Church, Combined Locks. Van Zeeland served on the board of trustees of Outagamie County Hospital and Golden Age Homes.
    Burial in Little Chute
    Van Zeeland is survived by 11 children, 38 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.
