    Sprangers, Hilary J. Hilary J. Sprangers, age 73, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2007, at Appleton Medical Center in Appleton. Hilary was born December 15, 1933, in the Town of Harrison, the son of the late Mathias and Rosella (Wallace) Sprangers. He married Shirley Wroblewski on September 1, 1956, in Hofa Park, WI. Hilary had been employed at Azco, formerly Hennes Erecting for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union Local 8. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church. Hilary loved fishing in Lake Michigan and he enjoyed woodworking.

    Hilary is survived by his wife Shirley, his children: Pam (Gene) Ruppert, Clintonville, Robert (Nancie) Sprangers, Kaukauna, Tim (Sandy) Sprangers, Freedom, Jayne (Marc) Boehnlein, Whitelaw, Gail (Kirk) Parrish, Town of Harrison; eleven grandchildren: Lindsay and Tyler Ruppert, Alicia, Nick, and Mitchell Sprangers, Taylor, Cassandra, and Ryan Boehnlein, Samantha, Marisa, and Christopher Parrish; and a great-granddaughter, Lily Broder. Hilary is further survived by his brothers and sisters; Ray Sprangers, Joe (Clara) Sprangers, Margaret Foley, Dorothy Schmit, Myron (Dorothy) Sprangers, Florian (Betty) Sprangers, Agnes (Stanley) Socha, Pat (Judy) Sprangers, Tom (Jean) Sprangers, his life-long buddy Don Melotte, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Hilary was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry, Daniel and Edward Sprangers, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Hattie Wroblewski.

    The memorial service for Hilary will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2007, at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, 516 De Pere St., Menasha, with Father Norman Krutzik officiating. Friends and family will be received at the church on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the hour of the memorial mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

    The family would like to thank the Nurses at AMC 3rd floor Cancer Center for their care and understanding for our family.

  • Note: Shirley A. Sprangers, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna. She was born on July 23, 1936, in Menasha, the daughter of Joseph and Hattie (Rappert) Wroblewski. Shirley was united in marriage to Hilary J. Sprangers on September 1, 1956, in Hofa Park, WI. Hilary preceded her in death on July 16, 2007. She is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish, Menasha. Shirley will be remembered most for being a great cook and devoting her life to being a mom, grandma, and great grandma. She enjoyed playing the humstrum, and traveling with Hilary.

    Shirley is survived by her children: Pam (Gene) Ruppert, Robert (Nancie) Sprangers, Tim (Sandy) Sprangers, Jayne (Marc) Boehnlein, and Gail (Kirk) Parrish; 11 grandchildren: Lindsey (John) Rush, Tyler (Jamie) Ruppert, Alicia (special friend Dale Smith) Sprangers, Nick (special friend Kaitlyn Kreuser) Sprangers, Mitchell (special friend Emily Crook) Sprangers, Taylor, Cassandra, and Ryan Boehnlein, Samantha (Justin) Kempf, Marisa (special friend Markus Burr) Parrish, and Christopher Parrish; 2 great granddaughters: Lily Broder and Hannah Ruppert; a sister-in-law: Julie Rappert; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

    Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, and 3 siblings: Clem (Ann) Wroblewski, Marie (Harold) Foley, and Norman Rappert.

    Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 516 De Pere St., Menasha, with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.

    Shirley’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all the staff of St. Paul Home, Kaukauna, Valley VNA, Neenah, and Greentree, Clintonville.

He was a member of the Catholic Knights of Wis. and the Holy Name Society of ST. francis Church, Hollandtown. Survivors are his wife, Helen; three daughters, MRs. Elmer (Mary) Buechler, Greenleaf, Mrs. William D. (Betty) Nelson, West covina, CAlif., Mrs. James (Rose Ann) Flanagan, Appleton; 2 sons, paul L., Seymour, Rt. 1, Robert H, Dundas, one brother, Henry L., Kaukaun; three sisters, MRs. N ick (Christine) Jaeckels, Kaukauna, Mrs. Matt (Jeanette) Thiel, Hilbert, Mrs. John (Helen) meier, Thorp, Wis. 25 grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Church with solemn requiem High Mass. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Frieends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna, after 2 p.m. Monday where the rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Rev. Father Edward Kilsdonk will be the celebrant assisted by Father Alfred Lahrer and Father Lloyd Thiel.

  • Note: Louie F. Schmidt, age 42, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, as the result of an automobile accident. He was born February 14, 1968, son of Robert and Elaine (Biese) Schmidt. Louie was born and raised on the Schmidt Homestead Family Farm south of Hollandtown. He was a graduate of Kaukauna High School. On May 27, 2000, Louie married the former Jody Urban of Campbellsport at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown. The couple lived in Kaukauna their entire married lives. Louie was employed by Vanderloop Equipment and owned his own DJ/Karaoke business "Louster's Entertainment." He was an avid Packers fan, sheepshead player, snowmobiler and bird watcher. Louie especially enjoyed camping with his wife and kids.

    He was a member of the Kaukauna Lions. Louie was a member of St. John- Sacred Heart Church in Sherwood but liked visiting different Catholic Churches and was previously a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown where he occasionally sang with the men's choir.

    He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Jody, Kaukauna; his son, Travis Kurscheidt, and his daughter, Taylor Jo Schmidt, both at home; his parents, Robert and Elaine Schmidt, Kaukauna; his siblings: Karen (Robert) Krause, Town of Hobart, Kathy (Bill) Richardson, Combined Locks, Kristy (Matt) Amerson, Kaukauna; numerous nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his wife's mother, Shirley Urban, as well as Jody's brothers and sister and many nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his nephew (godchild) David Richardson and his father-in-law, James Urban.

    The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at St. Katharine Drexel Parish at St. Francis Church, County Road CE, Hollandtown with Fr. Willard Vande Loo officiating. Friends will be received on Monday, July 5, 2010, at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna (920-766-2099), from 3 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the cortege leaves for the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name. Burial will take place in the Parish Cemetery.
