  • Note: Julia Pendergast Burns, age 93, passed away at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna on April 29, 2014. Julia was born in the Town of Vandenbroek on April 27, 1921, daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Vanden Wyngaard) Paalman. Anna died relatively young, and Henry then married his second wife, Johanna, whom his children always considered to be their mother. In October of 1941, Julia married Carl Pendergast, and together the couple had seven children. Carl died in 1964. In 1973, she married James Burns who has also preceded her in death. As a young woman, Julia was employed by Thilmany Pulp and Paper in Kaukauna, as well as by Kimberly Clark. After Carl's death, she received training to be a nurse's aide, and worked at the Appleton Medical Center and in private homes. Julia loved nature, watching and feeding the wildlife near her home, oil painting, and the occasional trip to the casino. During her years in Land O' Lakes, she was an active member and helpful volunteer at St. Albert's Catholic Church.

    Julia is survived by six children: Robert Pendergast of Little Chute; Linda (Tom) Brouillard of Land O' Lakes; Diane Kelly of Kaukauna; Patricia (Bud Nelson) Romenesko of Wrightstown; Mary (Bob) Nack of Kaukauna; and Tim (Ashley) Pendergast of Fremont; a step-daughter: LuAnn Fisher of Colorado Springs; twenty-three grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. There is also a sister: Frances Van Thiel of Land O' Lakes; and two sisters-in-law: Norine Paalman of Land O' Lakes and Mary Jane Paalman of Lyndon Station.

    Julia was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother Johanna, a son Tom Pendergast, a son-in-law Jim Kelly, a daughter-in-law Renita Pendergast, a step-sister Lucille Armes, a step son-in-law Evoy Fisher, a brother-in-law John Van Thiel; and brothers: Joe (Ann) Paalman, Hank (Lucille) Paalman, Frank (Violet) Paalman, Ted (Adeline) Paalman, Tony Paalman, and Bill Paalman.

    A memorial funeral liturgy for Julia will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 10, 2013 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH - ST. MARY'S SITE, 119 W. 7th Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Little Chute. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial funds are being established for some of Julia's favorite charities. Online condolences may be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.

    Pendergast, Thomas C. "Tom" Thomas C. "Tom" Pendergast, of Kaukauna, age 64, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, February 25, 2007. He was born in Little Chute, on April, 26, 1942, son of Carl and Julia (Paalman) Pendergast. He was proud to serve in the United States Air Force for 22 years and retired as a Technical Sergeant.

    Tom is survived by his mother, Julia Pendergast-Burns of Land O' Lakes; brothers and sisters: Bob (Renita) Pendergast of Seymour, Linda (Tom) Brouillard of Land O' Lakes, Diane (Jim) Kelly of Little Chute, Pat (special friend, Bud Nelson) Romenesko of Kaukauna, Mary (Bob) Nack of Kaukauna, and Tim (Kelley) Pendergast of Weyauwega; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    He is preceded in death by his father, Carl; and stepfather, Jim Burns.

    There will be a memorial visitation on Wednesday, February 28, 2007, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., at the Fargo Funeral Home.

  • Note: Renita L. Pendergast, 62, of Little Chute died Thursday August 23, 2012 at Grand Horizons. She was born in Appleton, May 26, 1950, daughter of the late Herman and Ruth (Jacob) Weigt. Renita married Robert Pendergast on September 23, 1978.

    Renita worked at Appleton Paper for many years. She enjoyed collecting dolls, gardening, photography, and animals. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Renita had a strong faith; she was a very honest person with a great big heart.

    Renita is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Robert; five children, Jodi (Joel) Jezeski, Little Chute, Terri (Pete) Adler, Durand, Tina (Don) Heavener, Van Dyne, Lori (Darin) Olski, Neenah, and Mike Pendergast (special friend, Kim), Kimberly; 12 grandchildren; five brothers, Don (Sandy) Weigt, Madison, Dennis (Ruth) Weigt, Clearwater, Fl; Randy Weigt, Appleton, Gary (Jean) Weigt, Appleton, and Jereld (Kate) Weigt, Appleton; mother-in-law, Julia Pendergast-Burns, Kaukauna ; four sisters-in-law, Linda (Ed) Brouillard, Land 'O Lakes, Diane Kelly, Kaukauna, Pat Romenesko ( Bud Nelson),Wrightstown, and Mary (Bob) Nack, Kaukauna; brother-in-law, Timon Pendergast, Weyauwega; her special friends, Zola, Bonnie, Connie, Donna, and Sharon; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jacqueline Rose, and Karlene; step-father, Gilbert Schildt; two brothers-in-law, Jim Kelly, and Tom Pendergast; and two fathers-in-law, Carl Pendergast, and James Burns.

    Memorial service will be at 7:00 PM on Thursday August 30, 2012 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, with Chaplin Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM until the hour of service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.

    Renita's family would like to give a special thank you to the staffs of both Grand Horizons and Theda Care Hospice for their care and compassion.

    We will miss all the times that we can't bring back, the crying, the laughter, the sadness, and the joy. But most of all the peace and the love is what we will never forget. LOVE FOREVER.

Florence loved time with her family and gambling. She also enjoyed knitting and playing piano. In her youth, her parents managed a movie theater and Florence even played piano for the silent movies. Later in life Florence and her daughter Joyce made a home together and they were companions for over 50 yearsShe will be sadly missed by her daughter, Joyce Davis, son David (Betty) Dunsmore, grandchildren, Peggy (Richard) Conlon, Paul (Tammy) Dunsmore, Jenny (John) Lorbiecki, great-grandchildren Adam (Karissa) Johnson, Samantha and Tyler Capelle and Julia, Gramm, Cameron, Brenton, Kylie and Colton Dunsmore, great-great-grandchildren Austin and Kayden Johnson. She is further survived by 4 step grandchildren and 9 step great-grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law Marvin "Dave" Davis.At Florence's request, private funeral services were held.
