On February 14, 1970, Joseph married Florence Hallwachs in Little Chute, and they have enjoyed over 32 years of marriage together. He was preceded in death by his first wife Rosemary Hackel (nee Vanden Heuvel) and two brothers, Ray Hackel and Tony Hackel.

    Joseph will be greatly missed by his wife Florence; his 9 children, George (Val) Hackel; Trish (Jim) Lenhardt; Lee (Dot) Hackel; Marla (Paul) Garber; Tim (Pat) Hackel; Donna (Judd) Vanden Heuvel; Jeff (Barb) Hackel, Dan (Jackie) Hackel, David (Gina) Hackel; and 4 step-children Donald (Deanna) Hallwachs; Richard (Michele) Hallwachs, Kenneth (Lorna) Hallwachs; Judy (Lynn) Helke, 26 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Clarence (Martha) Hackel, Lawrence (Margaret) Hackel; his sister, Rosalie (John) Roovers; Joseph is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

    He was employed as a carpenter for 50 years, and a member of Carpenters Local #955 for 55 years. Joseph was an avid gardener throughout his life, and an active past member of the Paper Valley Garden Club. He also enjoyed woodworking and marquetry.

    The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Monday, July 22, 2002 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 119 West Seventh Street, Kaukauna, with Rev. Loran Miller officiating. The interment will be held at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends will be received at the church on Monday, July 22 from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

  • Burial: He was buried in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton, Outagamie Co, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Andrew C. Stumpf, Combined Locks, age 78, passed away on Friday December 20, 2013 at Theda Clark Medical Center with his loving family at his side. Andrew was born on May 24, 1935 in Darboy to the late Catherine (Wendel) and Andrew A. Stumpf. He graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1954. Andrew went into the Navy after high school and was stationed at Little Creek in Norfolk, VA where he was a deep sea diver. He was honorably discharged in 1956. Andrew married Sharon Van Lankvelt on April 23, 1960. She preceded him in death on April 9, 2008. He worked at Thilmany Paper for 37 years until his retirement July 1, 1996. Andrew was a member of the William Verhagen American Legion Post 60 Color Guard in Kimberly.

    Andrew is survived by his son, Barry (Lori) and their children: Kelly (Kyle) Rasmussen and Mike Stumpf; three daughters: Amy (Jeff) Crozier and their children: Toree (Randall) and Carlee; Sue (Mark) Dietz and son Jack; Jenny (Scott) Schroeter and daughter Hallie; two great granddaughters: Haiden and Mallory; brother: Jess (Lavonne) Stumpf; brothers-in-law: Jim (Audrey) and Larry (Carol) Van Lankvelt; and sister-in-law: Cuca Van Lankvelt. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    In addition to his parents and his loving wife Sharon, Andrew was preceded in death by his brother Dave; brothers and sisters-in-law: Jerome, Harvey (Millie), Bill (Eleanore) and Roger Van Lankvelt, Delores (Perry, Wally) Schmidt, Carol (Ron) Diedrich and Joan (Bill) Landreman.

    Visitation will be held Friday December 27, 2013 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 12:00 Noon. The Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen will officiate. Military rites conducted by the William Verhagen American Legion Post 60 will immediately follow. Committal Highland Memorial Park.     [Schampers] Little Chute

    Age 64, died peacefully at home with her family at her side on Friday, April 14, 2000, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 9, 1936, in Little Chute, the daughter of Ernest and Lorraine [Rutten] Schampers. She married Peter P. Janssen on October 16, 1956, at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute.

    Survivors include her husband, Peter; three sons, Randy, Kimberly; Glen 'Whitey' and fiancee Sandy, Little Chute; Keven [Debbie] Little Chute; a daughter, Lori [Barry] Stumpf, Little Chute; eight grandchildren, Doug, Tim, Michael and Ashley Janssen, Kelly and Mike Stumpf, Nick and Carissa Chapin; a sister, Sharon [Merle] Schuh; a brother, Ronnie [Bobbie] Schampers.

    She worked many years at Kimberly Credit Union, retiring in 1992. She volunteered for the Community Blood Center and at the schools for hearing and eye tests. She had a special talent for painting ceramics. She was well known for her practical jokes and sense of humor.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Amber Janssen; her mother and father in-law, Martha and Peter Janssen; a brother, Dwayne two brothers in in-law, David West and Lawrence Schnabl; and a sister in-law, Bernice Janssen.

    Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 17, 2000, at 6 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute with visitation at Verkuilen Funeral Home from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. The Rev. James Vanden Hogen will officiate.
