    He was born in the town of Chilton August 3, 1898, and was married to Ann Mueller. The couple had lived in Stockbridge for the past 28 years.

    Mr. Groschel was a member of St. Mary’s church at Stockbridge and of the Holy Name society.

    He leaves his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Clarence Thiel of Greenleaf, Mrs. Norbert Thiel of St. John, Mrs. Ray Vander Zanden of Little Chute, and Miss Viola and Miss Irene at home; one son, Herbert, at home; seven grandchildren; and four brothers and four sisters.

    Funeral services will be held Tuesday at St. Mary’s church at Stockbridge, and burial will be in the parish cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Schumacher Funeral home in Stockbridge.

    Chilton…Anton Groeschel, 69, died Sunday morning
    At 5 o’clock at his home in Charlesburg, after a week’s
    Illness with pneumonia. Funeral services will be held
    Wednesday morning at 9:30 o’clock at St. Charles church,
    Charlesburg, the Rev. L. F. Binder officiating, with
    Interment in St. Charles cemetery.
    Survivors are his widow and the following children:
    George, Joseph and Charles of Chilton, (Rose) Mrs.
    Anton Nadler, Calumet county: Frank and Louis of Fond
    Du Lac county; Anton, Calumet county; (Frances) Mrs.
    Claude Wendel, Fond du Lac, John of Chilton; (Anna)
    Mrs. Peter Smith, Appleton; and (Mary) Mrs. Fred Kehler,
    Calumet county; and the following step-children:
    (Hilda) Mrs. Joseph Hoffmann, Chilton; (Adeline) Mrs.
    Charles Wendel, New Holstein; (Josephine) Mrs. Sylvester
    Nett, Kiel.
    A son Paul, and a daughter, Bertha, died in childhood.
    The six sons will serve as pallbearers.
    Mr. Groeschel’s first wife, Catherine Wettstein, died about
    22 years ago. Later he married Mrs. Mary Franzen, who
    survives him.

    Vandenhoy, Rick
    Rick Vandenhoy, 54, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2009, at a local nursing home. Rick was born in Green Bay, on March 24, 1954, son of the late Richard Vandenhoy, Sr. and Arlene Blohowiak, who resides in Appleton.
    Rick will be remembered for his love of jigsaw and crossword puzzles, exploring the Internet, and camping and fishing in Arkansas.
    In addition to his mother, Rick is survived by his brothers and sisters, Patti Vandenhoy, Spokane, Wash.; Steve Vandenhoy, Green Bay; Mike Vandenhoy, Freedom, and his special friend, Peggy; Terry Vandenhoy, Combined Locks; Connie Boehm, St. Charles, Ill.; Carl Vandenhoy, Oshkosh; and Lynn Vandenhoy, Jacksonville, Fla., and her special friend, Donna. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Florence Vandenhoy, Little Chute; and Patty Vandenhoy, Seymour; nine nieces and nephews; and by a special friend, Peggy Ebben, Greenville.
    Rick was preceded in death by his father; brothers, Norbert Vandenhoy and Tim Vandenhoy; and a sister-in-law, Debbie Vandenhoy.
    A memorial service for Rick will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009, at the Wichmann Funeral Home in Appleton, with the Rev. Tim Albrecht officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

    Little Chute-Funeral services for John Ver Voort, 62, who died Saturday morning at his home on route 4, Appleton, were conducted at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. John church at the grave by the Very Rev. John J. Sprangers. Burial took place in the parish cemetery. Bearers were Peter Ver Voort, Arnold Coenen, George Wydeven, John Ver Voort and Joseph Coenen. Surviving are the widow, 9 sons, Peter, Joseph, Arnold Lemmons Arnold, John, Richard, Robert, George, Anthony and James, all at home, and six daughters, Margaret, Theresa, Agnes and Barbara at home, Mrs. Henry Vanevenhoven, Kaukauna, and Mrs. Anton Van Nuland, Kimberly.
