    Age 75, died Friday in Kaukauna, after a brief illness. She was born May 3, 1905 in Shiocton. She had been a Kaukauna resident since 1932 and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna, the Altar Society, the Golden Agers, the VFW Auxiliary Post No. 3319 of Kaukauna, the National Campers and Hikers Association and the North American Benefit Association. She was employed by the Outagamie County Teachers College for 12 years. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Wilma Mae) Vanderloop, Rt. 1, Kaukauna; two sons: Richard, Little Chute; Donald, Rt. 3, New London; a sister, Mathilda Schettl, Manitowoc; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in September of 1979. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna, with Father Robert Kabat officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Fargo Funeral Home, Kaukauna. There will be a VFW Memorial Service at 6:3 p.m. Sunday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Age 80, died Sunday evening following a long illness. He was born April 18, 1899 in the Town of Newton, Manitowoc County. He lived in Manitowoc until 1932, when he came to Kaukauna and worked for Badger Tissue Mills. Later he was employed at the Look Drug Stores. Mr. Grapentin was a member of AARP and the Packerland Campers. Survivors include his wife, Hildegard Rueden Grapentin; a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Wilma Mae) Vanderloop, Kaukauna; two sons: Richard, Little Chute; Donald, Route 3, New London; two brothers, Fred and Walter, both of Manitowoc; two sisters: Mrs. Ida Kaufman, Manitowoc; Mrs. Harriet Schwerzler, Grants Pass, Oregon; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A scripture reading will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Fargo Funeral Home, Kaukauna, by the Rev. Mike Hoffman. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

  • Note: Died unexpectedly on December 5, 2017 surrounded by her family while listening to “Proud Mary” and Christmas carols. Willie was born on October 22, 1935 in Manitowoc to William and Hildegarde (nee Rueden) Grapentin. Willie was joined in marriage to Gerald Vanderloop on August 12, 1953. Willie loved flowers, golf, shopping, going out to eat, signing in, and having an Old Fashioned.

    Willie is survived by her children: Gerri (Jeff) Yingling, Pat (Dave) Doering, Bill (Denise), Teresa (Jeffery) Robinson, Jim (Sue), and Mary (Paul) Dobbert. Grandmother to Jenny (Rob) Frelich, Phillip (Erica) Yingling, Tracy Alger, Mark Doering, Kristine (Jake) Jansen, Kevin Vanderloop, Chris Wettstein, Nicole (Bill) Guerts, Allen (Kayla) Johnson, Caleb Robinson, Amanda, Bryan, and Heather Vanderloop, Mitchell Daubon, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Sister of Don (Dorothy) Grapentin, sister-in-law to Bernice Vanderloop, Ruth Vanderloop, Duane (Dolores) Vanderloop, and Clarence Weyers. Further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

    Willie is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Gerald, her parents, brother Rich (the late Dorothy) Grapentin, in-laws Don Vanderloop, Ken Vanderloop and Elaine Weyers.

    Visitation will be held at St. Katherine Drexel Parish-St. Mary site (119 W. 7th Street Kaukauna) on Saturday December 9, 2017 from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM. Funeral Liturgy at 11:00 AM with Fr. Jim Vanden Hogen officiating, assisted by Deacon Steve Vande Hey, Pastoral Leader. Private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Willie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Appleton Medical Center, especially Pam the music therapist.
